[ 4 ] 4:1 Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the descendants of the captivity were building the temple of the Lord God of Israel, 4:2 they came to Zerubbabel and the heads of the fathers' houses, and said to them, "Let us build with you, for we seek your God as you do; and we have sacrificed to Him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assyria, who brought us here." 4:3 But Zerubbabel and Jeshua and the rest of the heads of the fathers' houses of Israel said to them, "You may do nothing with us to build a house for our God; but we alone will build to the Lord God of Israel, as King Cyrus the king of Persia has commanded us." 4:4 Then the people of the land tried to discourage the people of Judah. They troubled them in building, 4:5 and hired counselors against them to frustrate their purpose all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia. 4:6 In the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, they wrote an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem. 4:7 In the days of Artaxerxes also, Bishlam, Mithredath, Tabel, and the rest of their companions wrote to Artaxerxes king of Persia; and the letter was written in Aramaic script, and translated into the Aramaic language. 4:8 Rehum the commander and Shimshai the scribe wrote a letter against Jerusalem to King Artaxerxes in this fashion: 4:9 From Rehum the commander, Shimshai the scribe, and the rest of their companions-representatives of the Dinaites, the Apharsathchites, the Tarpelites, the people of Persia and Erech and Babylon and Shushan, the Dehavites, the Elamites, 4:10 and the rest of the nations whom the great and noble Osnapper took captive and settled in the cities of Samaria and the remainder beyond the River-and so forth. 4:11 (This is a copy of the letter that they sent him) To King Artaxerxes from your servants, the men of the region beyond the River, and so forth: 4:12 Let it be known to the king that the Jews who came up from you have come to us at Jerusalem, and are building the rebellious and evil city, and are finishing its walls and repairing the foundations. 4:13 Let it now be known to the king that, if this city is built and the walls completed, they will not pay tax, tribute, or custom, and the king's treasury will be diminished. 4:14 Now because we receive support from the palace, it was not proper for us to see the king's dishonor; therefore we have sent and informed the king, 4:15 that search may be made in the book of the records of your fathers. And you will find in the book of the records and know that this city is a rebellious city, harmful to kings and provinces, and that they have incited sedition within the city in former times, for which cause this city was destroyed. 4:16 We inform the king that if this city is rebuilt and its walls are completed, the result will be that you will have no dominion beyond the River. 4:17 The king sent an answer: To Rehum the commander, to Shimshai the scribe, to the rest of their companions who dwell in Samaria, and to the remainder beyond the River: Peace, and so forth. 4:18 The letter which you sent to us has been clearly read before me. 4:19 And I gave the command, and a search has been made, and it was found that this city in former times has revolted against kings, and rebellion and sedition have been fostered in it. 4:20 There have also been mighty kings over Jerusalem, who have ruled over all the region beyond the River; and tax, tribute, and custom were paid to them. 4:21 Now give the command to make these men cease, that this city may not be built until the command is given by me. 4:22 Take heed now that you do not fail to do this. Why should damage increase to the hurt of the kings? 4:23 Now when the copy of King Artaxerxes' letter was read before Rehum, Shimshai the scribe, and their companions, they went up in haste to Jerusalem against the Jews, and by force of arms made them cease. 4:24 Thus the work of the house of God which is at Jerusalem ceased, and it was discontinued until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.

2:23 このイエスを神は、お定めになった計画により、あらかじめご存じのうえで、あなたがたに引き渡されたのですが、あなたがたは律法を知らない者たちの手を借りて、十字架につけて殺してしまったのです。
2:24 しかし、神はこのイエスを死の苦しみから解放して、復活させられました。イエスが死に支配されたままでおられるなどということは、ありえなかったからです。
2:25 ダビデは、イエスについてこう言っています。『わたしは、いつも目の前に主を見ていた。主がわたしの右におられるので、／わたしは決して動揺しない。
2:26 だから、わたしの心は楽しみ、／舌は喜びたたえる。体も希望のうちに生きるであろう。

2:29 兄弟たち、先祖ダビデについては、彼は死んで葬られ、その墓は今でもわたしたちのところにあると、はっきり言えます。

2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, "Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words.
2:15 "For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.
2:16 "But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
2:17 'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,Your young men shall see visions,Your old men shall dream dreams.
2:18 And on My menservants and on My maidservantsI will pour out My Spirit in those days;And they shall prophesy.
2:19 I will show wonders in heaven aboveAnd signs in the earth beneath:Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.
2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,And the moon into blood,Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
2:21 And it shall come to passThat whoever calls on the name of the LordShall be saved.'
2:22 "Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know-
2:23 "Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death;
2:24 "whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
2:25 "For David says concerning Him:'I foresaw the Lord always before my face,For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.
2:26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad;Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope.
2:27 For You will not leave my soul in Hades,Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
2:28 You have made known to me the ways of life;You will make me full of joy in Your presence.'
2:29 "Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
2:30 "Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,
2:31 "he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.
2:32 "This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.
2:33 "Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.
2:34 "For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself:'The Lord said to my Lord,"Sit at My right hand,
2:35 Till I make Your enemies Your footstool." '
2:36 "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."
