8:1 わたしダニエルは先にも幻を見たが、その後ベルシャツァル王の治世第三年に、また幻を見た。 8:2 その幻の中にあって、見るとわたしはエラム州の都スサにおり、ウライ川のほとりにいるようであった。 8:3 目を上げて眺めると、見よ、一頭の雄羊が川岸に立っていた。二本の角が生えていたが共に長く、一本は他の一本より更に長くて、後ろの方に生えていた。 8:4 見ていると、この雄羊は西、北、南に向かって突進し、これにかなう獣は一頭もなく、その力から救い出すものもなく、雄羊はほしいままに、また、高慢にふるまい、高ぶった。 8:5 これについて考えていると、見よ、西から一頭の雄山羊が全地の上を飛ぶような勢いで進んで来た。その額には際立った一本の角が生えていた。 8:6 この雄山羊は先に見た川岸に立っている二本の角のある雄羊に向かって、激しい勢いで突進した。 8:7 みるみるうちに雄山羊は雄羊に近づき、怒りに燃えてこれを打ち倒し、その二本の角を折ったが、雄羊には抵抗する力がなかった。雄山羊はこれを地に投げ打ち、踏みにじった。その力から雄羊を救い出すものはなかった。 8:8 雄山羊は非常に尊大になったが、力の極みで角は折れ、その代わりに四本の際立った角が生えて天の四方に向かった。 8:9 そのうちの一本からもう一本の小さな角が生え出て、非常に強大になり、南へ、東へ、更にあの「麗しの地」へと力を伸ばした。 8:10 これは天の万軍に及ぶまで力を伸ばし、その万軍、つまり星のうちの幾つかを地に投げ落とし、踏みにじった。 8:11 その上、天の万軍の長にまで力を伸ばし、日ごとの供え物を廃し、その聖所を倒した。 8:12 また、天の万軍を供え物と共に打ち倒して罪をはびこらせ、真理を地になげうち、思うままにふるまった。 8:13 わたしは一人の聖なる者が語るのを聞いた。またもう一人の聖なる者がその語っている者に言った。「この幻、すなわち、日ごとの供え物が廃され、罪が荒廃をもたらし、聖所と万軍とが踏みにじられるというこの幻の出来事は、いつまで続くのか。」 8:14 彼は続けた。「日が暮れ、夜の明けること二千三百回に及んで、聖所はあるべき状態に戻る。」 8:15 わたしダニエルは、この幻を見ながら、意味を知りたいと願っていた。その時、見よ、わたしに向かって勇士のような姿が現れた。 8:16 すると、ウライ川から人の声がしてこう言った。「ガブリエル、幻をこの人に説明せよ。」 8:17 彼がわたしの立っている所に近づいて来たので、わたしは恐れてひれ伏した。彼はわたしに言った。「人の子よ、この幻は終わりの時に関するものだということを悟りなさい。」 8:18 彼がこう話している間に、わたしは気を失って地に倒れたが、彼はわたしを捕らえて立ち上がらせ、 8:19 こう言った。「見よ、この怒りの時の終わりに何が起こるかをお前に示そう。定められた時には終わりがある。 8:20 お前の見た二本の角のある雄羊はメディアとペルシアの王である。 8:21 また、あの毛深い雄山羊はギリシアの王である。その額の大きな角は第一の王だ。 8:22 その角が折れて代わりに四本の角が生えたが、それはこの国から、それほどの力を持たない四つの国が立つということである。 8:23 四つの国の終わりに、その罪悪の極みとして／高慢で狡猾な一人の王が起こる。 8:24 自力によらずに強大になり／驚くべき破壊を行い、ほしいままにふるまい／力ある者、聖なる民を滅ぼす。 8:25 才知にたけ／その手にかかればどんな悪だくみも成功し／驕り高ぶり、平然として多くの人を滅ぼす。ついに最も大いなる君に敵対し／人の手によらずに滅ぼされる。 8:26 この夜と朝の幻について／わたしの言うことは真実だ。しかし、お前は見たことを秘密にしておきなさい。まだその日は遠い。」 8:27 わたしダニエルは疲れ果てて、何日か病気になっていた。その後、起きて宮廷の務めに戻った。しかし、この幻にぼう然となり、理解できずにいた。
8:1 In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar a vision appeared to me-to me, Daniel-after the one that appeared to me the first time. 8:2 I saw in the vision, and it so happened while I was looking, that I was in Shushan, the citadel, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in the vision that I was by the River Ulai. 8:3 Then I lifted my eyes and saw, and there, standing beside the river, was a ram which had two horns, and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher one came up last. 8:4 I saw the ram pushing westward, northward, and southward, so that no animal could withstand him; nor was there any that could deliver from his hand, but he did according to his will and became great. 8:5 And as I was considering, suddenly a male goat came from the west, across the surface of the whole earth, without touching the ground; and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. 8:6 Then he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing beside the river, and ran at him with furious power. 8:7 And I saw him confronting the ram; he was moved with rage against him, attacked the ram, and broke his two horns. There was no power in the ram to withstand him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled him; and there was no one that could deliver the ram from his hand. 8:8 Therefore the male goat grew very great; but when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in place of it four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven. 8:9 And out of one of them came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land. 8:10 And it grew up to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the ground, and trampled them. 8:11 He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down. 8:12 Because of transgression, an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the ground. He did all this and prospered. 8:13 Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who was speaking, "How long will the vision be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled under foot?" 8:14 And he said to me, "For two thousand three hundred days; then the sanctuary shall be cleansed." 8:15 Then it happened, when I, Daniel, had seen the vision and was seeking the meaning, that suddenly there stood before me one having the appearance of a man. 8:16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of the Ulai, who called, and said, "Gabriel, make this man understand the vision." 8:17 So he came near where I stood, and when he came I was afraid and fell on my face; but he said to me, "Understand, son of man, that the vision refers to the time of the end." 8:18 Now, as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep with my face to the ground; but he touched me, and stood me upright. 8:19 And he said, "Look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the appointed time the end shall be. 8:20 "The ram which you saw, having the two horns-they are the kings of Media and Persia. 8:21 "And the male goat is the kingdom of Greece. The large horn that is between its eyes is the first king. 8:22 "As for the broken horn and the four that stood up in its place, four kingdoms shall arise out of that nation, but not with its power. 8:23 "And in the latter time of their kingdom,When the transgressors have reached their fullness,A king shall arise,Having fierce features,Who understands sinister schemes. 8:24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power;He shall destroy fearfully,And shall prosper and thrive;He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people. 8:25 "Through his cunningHe shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule;And he shall exalt himself in his heart.He shall destroy many in their prosperity.He shall even rise against the Prince of princes;But he shall be broken without human means. 8:26 "And the vision of the evenings and morningsWhich was told is true;Therefore seal up the vision,For it refers to many days in the future." 8:27 And I, Daniel, fainted and was sick for days; afterward I arose and went about the king's business. I was astonished by the vision, but no one understood it.

1:3 主イエスは、御自分の持つ神の力によって、命と信心とにかかわるすべてのものを、わたしたちに与えてくださいました。それは、わたしたちを御自身の栄光と力ある業とで召し出してくださった方を認識させることによるのです。 1:4 この栄光と力ある業とによって、わたしたちは尊くすばらしい約束を与えられています。それは、あなたがたがこれらによって、情欲に染まったこの世の退廃を免れ、神の本性にあずからせていただくようになるためです。 1:5 だから、あなたがたは、力を尽くして信仰には徳を、徳には知識を、 1:6 知識には自制を、自制には忍耐を、忍耐には信心を、 1:7 信心には兄弟愛を、兄弟愛には愛を加えなさい。 1:8 これらのものが備わり、ますます豊かになるならば、あなたがたは怠惰で実を結ばない者とはならず、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストを知るようになるでしょう。 1:9 これらを備えていない者は、視力を失っています。近くのものしか見えず、以前の罪が清められたことを忘れています。 1:10 だから兄弟たち、召されていること、選ばれていることを確かなものとするように、いっそう努めなさい。これらのことを実践すれば、決して罪に陥りません。 1:11 こうして、わたしたちの主、救い主イエス・キリストの永遠の御国に確かに入ることができるようになります。
1:1 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 1:3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 1:4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 1:5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 1:6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 1:7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 1:8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1:9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. 1:10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 1:11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
