36:1 「人の子よ、あなたはイスラエルの山々に預言して言いなさい。イスラエルの山々よ、主の言葉を聞け。 36:2 主なる神はこう言われる。敵がお前たちに向かって、『ああ、永遠の丘が今や我々の所有となった』と言っている。 36:3 それゆえ預言して言いなさい。主なる神はこう言われる。お前たちは周囲の者に荒らされ、踏みにじられ、他の国々の所有となったので、人々の口にのぼり、うわさされるものとなった。 36:4 それゆえ、イスラエルの山々よ、主なる神の言葉を聞け。主なる神は、山と丘、谷と低地、荒れ果てた廃虚、また周囲の他の国々から略奪され侮られ、捨てられた町々に向かってこう言われる。 36:5 それゆえ、主なる神はこう言われる。わたしは燃える熱情をもって、他の国々とエドムに対して語る。彼らはみな、心底からはしゃぎ、嘲って、わたしの土地を取り、自分の所有とし、牧草地を略奪した者だ。 36:6 それゆえ、イスラエルの地に向かって預言し、その山々と丘、谷と低地に語りなさい。主なる神はこう言われる。わたしは熱情と憤りをもって語った。それはお前たちが国々から辱めを受けたからである。 36:7 それゆえ、主なる神はこう言われる。わたしは手を上げて誓う。必ず、お前の周囲の国々は自分の恥を負う。 36:8 しかし、お前たちイスラエルの山々よ、お前たちは枝を出し、わが民イスラエルのために実を結ぶ。彼らが戻って来るのは間近である。 36:9 わたしはお前たちのために、お前たちのもとへと向かう。お前たちは耕され、種を蒔かれる。 36:10 わたしはお前たちの上に、イスラエル全家の人口をことごとく増やす。町々には人が住むようになり、廃虚は建て直される。 36:11 わたしはお前たちの上に人と家畜を増やす。彼らは子を産んで増える。わたしはお前たちを昔のように人の住むところとし、初めのときよりも更に栄えさせる。そのとき、お前たちはわたしが主であることを知るようになる。 36:12 わたしはお前たちの上に人々を、すなわちわが民イスラエルを歩ませる。彼らがお前を所有し、お前は彼らの嗣業となる。二度と彼らの子たちを失わせることはない。 36:13 主なる神はこう言われる。人々はお前たちについて、『お前は人間を食らう地、自分の民の子を失わせる地だ』と言っている。 36:14 それゆえ、お前は二度と人間を食らうことはなく、二度と自分の民の子を失わせることはない、と主なる神は言われる。 36:15 わたしは二度と国々の辱めの声をお前に聞こえさせず、諸国の民の侮りを二度と受けさせない。お前も自分の民を二度とつまずかせることはない」と主なる神は言われる。 36:16 主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ。 36:17 「人の子よ、イスラエルの家は自分の土地に住んでいたとき、それを自分の歩みと行いによって汚した。その歩みは、わたしの前で生理中の女の汚れのようであった。 36:18 それゆえ、わたしは憤りを彼らの上に注いだ。彼らが地の上に血を流し、偶像によってそれを汚したからである。 36:19 わたしは彼らを国々の中に散らし、諸国に追いやり、その歩みと行いに応じて裁いた。 36:20 彼らはその行く先の国々に行って、わが聖なる名を汚した。事実、人々は彼らについて、『これは主の民だ、彼らは自分の土地から追われて来たのだ』と言った。 36:21 そこでわたしは、イスラエルの家がその行った先の国々で汚したわが聖なる名を惜しんだ。 36:22 それゆえ、イスラエルの家に言いなさい。主なる神はこう言われる。イスラエルの家よ、わたしはお前たちのためではなく、お前たちが行った先の国々で汚したわが聖なる名のために行う。 36:23 わたしは、お前たちが国々で汚したため、彼らの間で汚されたわが大いなる名を聖なるものとする。わたしが彼らの目の前で、お前たちを通して聖なるものとされるとき、諸国民は、わたしが主であることを知るようになる、と主なる神は言われる。 36:24 わたしはお前たちを国々の間から取り、すべての地から集め、お前たちの土地に導き入れる。 36:25 わたしが清い水をお前たちの上に振りかけるとき、お前たちは清められる。わたしはお前たちを、すべての汚れとすべての偶像から清める。 36:26 わたしはお前たちに新しい心を与え、お前たちの中に新しい霊を置く。わたしはお前たちの体から石の心を取り除き、肉の心を与える。 36:27 また、わたしの霊をお前たちの中に置き、わたしの掟に従って歩ませ、わたしの裁きを守り行わせる。 36:28 お前たちは、わたしが先祖に与えた地に住むようになる。お前たちはわたしの民となりわたしはお前たちの神となる。 36:29 わたしはお前たちを、すべての汚れから救う。わたしは穀物に呼びかけ、それを増やし、お前たちに飢えを送ることはしない。 36:30 わたしが木の実と畑の作物を豊かにするので、二度と飢饉のために、国々の間で恥をこうむることはない。 36:31 そのとき、お前たちは自分の悪い歩み、善くない行いを思い起こし、罪と忌まわしいことのゆえに、自分自身を嫌悪する。 36:32 わたしがこれを行うのは、お前たちのためではないことを知れ、と主なる神は言われる。イスラエルの家よ、恥じるがよい。自分の歩みを恥ずかしく思え。 36:33 主なる神はこう言われる。わたしがお前たちをすべての罪から清める日に、わたしは町々に人を住まわせ、廃虚を建て直す。 36:34 荒れ果てた地、そこを通るすべての人に荒れ地と見えていた土地が耕されるようになる。 36:35 そのとき人々は、『荒れ果てていたこの土地がエデンの園のようになった。荒れ果て破壊されて廃虚となった町々が、城壁のある人の住む町になった』と言う。 36:36 お前たちの周囲に残された国々も、主であるわたしがこの破壊された所を建て直し、荒れ果てていたところに植物を植えたことを知るようになる。主であるわたしが、これを語り、これを行う。 36:37 主なる神はこう言われる。わたしは、再びイスラエルの家の願いを受け入れ、彼らのために行う。わたしは彼らの人口を羊の群れのように増やす。 36:38 祭りの時に、エルサレムが聖別された羊で満ち溢れるように、廃虚であった町々は人の群れで満たされる。そのとき、彼らはわたしが主なる神であることを知るようになる。」
36:1 "And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, 'O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord! 36:2 'Thus says the Lord God: "Because the enemy has said of you, 'Aha! The ancient heights have become our possession,' " ' 36:3 "therefore prophesy, and say, 'Thus says the Lord God: "Because they made you desolate and swallowed you up on every side, so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations, and you are taken up by the lips of talkers and slandered by the people"- 36:4 'therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God! Thus says the Lord God to the mountains, the hills, the rivers, the valleys, the desolate wastes, and the cities that have been forsaken, which became plunder and mockery to the rest of the nations all around- 36:5 'therefore thus says the Lord God: "Surely I have spoken in My burning jealousy against the rest of the nations and against all Edom, who gave My land to themselves as a possession, with whole-hearted joy and spiteful minds, in order to plunder its open country." ' 36:6 "Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains, the hills, the rivers, and the valleys, 'Thus says the Lord God: "Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and My fury, because you have borne the shame of the nations." 36:7 'Therefore thus says the Lord God: "I have raised My hand in an oath that surely the nations that are around you shall bear their own shame. 36:8 "But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are about to come. 36:9 "For indeed I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown. 36:10 "I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt. 36:11 "I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bear young; I will make you inhabited as in former times, and do better for you than at your beginnings. Then you shall know that I am the Lord. 36:12 "Yes, I will cause men to walk on you, My people Israel; they shall take possession of you, and you shall be their inheritance; no more shall you bereave them of children." 36:13 'Thus says the Lord God: "Because they say to you, 'You devour men and bereave your nation of children,' 36:14 "therefore you shall devour men no more, nor bereave your nation anymore," says the Lord God. 36:15 "Nor will I let you hear the taunts of the nations anymore, nor bear the reproach of the peoples anymore, nor shall you cause your nation to stumble anymore," says the Lord God.' " 36:16 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 36:17 "Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own ways and deeds; to Me their way was like the uncleanness of a woman in her customary impurity. 36:18 "Therefore I poured out My fury on them for the blood they had shed on the land, and for their idols with which they had defiled it. 36:19 "So I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed throughout the countries; I judged them according to their ways and their deeds. 36:20 "When they came to the nations, wherever they went, they profaned My holy name-when they said of them, 'These are the people of the Lord, and yet they have gone out of His land.' 36:21 "But I had concern for My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations wherever they went. 36:22 "Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord God: "I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name's sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went. 36:23 "And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord," says the Lord God, "when I am hallowed in you before their eyes. 36:24 "For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. 36:25 "Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 36:26 "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 36:27 "I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. 36:28 "Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God. 36:29 "I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. I will call for the grain and multiply it, and bring no famine upon you. 36:30 "And I will multiply the fruit of your trees and the increase of your fields, so that you need never again bear the reproach of famine among the nations. 36:31 "Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight, for your iniquities and your abominations. 36:32 "Not for your sake do I do this," says the Lord God, "let it be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel!" 36:33 'Thus says the Lord God: "On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will also enable you to dwell in the cities, and the ruins shall be rebuilt. 36:34 "The desolate land shall be tilled instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass by. 36:35 "So they will say, 'This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the wasted, desolate, and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.' 36:36 "Then the nations which are left all around you shall know that I, the Lord, have rebuilt the ruined places and planted what was desolate. I, the Lord, have spoken it, and I will do it." 36:37 'Thus says the Lord God: "I will also let the house of Israel inquire of Me to do this for them: I will increase their men like a flock. 36:38 "Like a flock offered as holy sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem on its feast days, so shall the ruined cities be filled with flocks of men. Then they shall know that I am the Lord." ' "
3:1 わたしの兄弟たち、あなたがたのうち多くの人が教師になってはなりません。わたしたち教師がほかの人たちより厳しい裁きを受けることになると、あなたがたは知っています。 3:2 わたしたちは皆、度々過ちを犯すからです。言葉で過ちを犯さないなら、それは自分の全身を制御できる完全な人です。 3:3 馬を御するには、口にくつわをはめれば、その体全体を意のままに動かすことができます。 3:4 また、船を御覧なさい。あのように大きくて、強風に吹きまくられている船も、舵取りは、ごく小さい舵で意のままに操ります。 3:5 同じように、舌は小さな器官ですが、大言壮語するのです。御覧なさい。どんなに小さな火でも大きい森を燃やしてしまう。 3:6 舌は火です。舌は「不義の世界」です。わたしたちの体の器官の一つで、全身を汚し、移り変わる人生を焼き尽くし、自らも地獄の火によって燃やされます。 3:7 あらゆる種類の獣や鳥、また這うものや海の生き物は、人間によって制御されていますし、これまでも制御されてきました。 3:8 しかし、舌を制御できる人は一人もいません。舌は、疲れを知らない悪で、死をもたらす毒に満ちています。 3:9 わたしたちは舌で、父である主を賛美し、また、舌で、神にかたどって造られた人間を呪います。 3:10 同じ口から賛美と呪いが出て来るのです。わたしの兄弟たち、このようなことがあってはなりません。 3:11 泉の同じ穴から、甘い水と苦い水がわき出るでしょうか。 3:12 わたしの兄弟たち、いちじくの木がオリーブの実を結び、ぶどうの木がいちじくの実を結ぶことができるでしょうか。塩水が甘い水を作ることもできません。
3:1 My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. 3:2 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. 3:3 Indeed, we put bits in horses' mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. 3:4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. 3:7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. 3:8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 3:9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. 3:11 Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? 3:12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.
