3:1 主は再び、わたしに言われた。「行け、夫に愛されていながら姦淫する女を愛せよ。イスラエルの人々が他の神々に顔を向け、その干しぶどうの菓子を愛しても、主がなお彼らを愛されるように。」 3:2 そこで、わたしは銀十五シェケルと、大麦一ホメルと一レテクを払って、その女を買い取った。 3:3 わたしは彼女に言った。「お前は淫行をせず、他の男のものとならず、長い間わたしのもとで過ごせ。わたしもまた、お前のもとにとどまる。」 3:4 イスラエルの人々は長い間、王も高官もなく、いけにえも聖なる柱もなく、エフォドもテラフィムもなく過ごす。 3:5 その後、イスラエルの人々は帰って来て、彼らの神なる主と王ダビデを求め、終わりの日に、主とその恵みに畏れをもって近づく。
4:1 主の言葉を聞け、イスラエルの人々よ。主はこの国の住民を告発される。この国には、誠実さも慈しみも／神を知ることもないからだ。 4:2 呪い、欺き、人殺し、盗み、姦淫がはびこり／流血に流血が続いている。 4:3 それゆえ、この地は渇き／そこに住む者は皆、衰え果て／野の獣も空の鳥も海の魚までも一掃される。 4:4 もはや告発するな、もはや争うな。お前の民は、祭司を告発する者のようだ。 4:5 昼、お前はつまずき／夜、預言者もお前と共につまずく。こうして、わたしはお前の母を沈黙させる。 4:6 わが民は知ることを拒んだので沈黙させられる。お前が知識を退けたので／わたしもお前を退けて／もはや、わたしの祭司とはしない。お前が神の律法を忘れたので／わたしもお前の子らを忘れる。 4:7 彼らは勢いを増すにつれて／ますます、わたしに対して罪を犯した。わたしは彼らの栄光を恥に変える。 4:8 彼らはわが民の贖罪の献げ物をむさぼり／民が罪を犯すのを当てにしている。 4:9 祭司も民も同じようだ。わたしは、彼らを行いに従って罰し／悪行に従って報いる。 4:10 彼らは食べても飽き足りることなく／淫行にふけっても／子孫を増やすことができない。彼らは淫行を続け／主を捨て、聞き従おうとしなかったからだ。 4:11 ぶどう酒と新しい酒は心を奪う。 4:12 わが民は木に託宣を求め／その枝に指示を受ける。淫行の霊に惑わされ／神のもとを離れて淫行にふけり 4:13 山々の頂でいけにえをささげ／丘の上で香をたく。樫、ポプラ、テレビンなどの木陰が快いからだ。お前たちの娘は淫行にふけり／嫁も姦淫を行う。 4:14 娘が淫行にふけっても／嫁が姦淫を行っても、わたしはとがめはしない。親自身が遊女と共に背き去り／神殿娼婦と共にいけにえをささげているからだ。悟りのない民は滅びる。 4:15 イスラエルよ、たとえお前が遊女であっても／――ユダは罪を犯すな――／ギルガルに赴くな、ベト・アベンに上るな。「主は生きておられる」と言って誓うな。 4:16 まことにイスラエルは／強情な雌牛のように強情だ。どうして主は、彼らを小羊のように／広い野で養われるだろうか。 4:17 エフライムは偶像のとりこになっている。そのままにしておくがよい。 4:18 彼らは酔いしれたまま、淫行を重ね／恥知らずなふるまいに身をゆだねている。 4:19 欲望の霊は翼の中に彼らを巻き込み／彼らはいけにえのゆえに恥を受ける。
3:1 Then the Lord said to me, "Go again, love a woman who is loved by a lover and is committing adultery, just like the love of the Lord for the children of Israel, who look to other gods and love the raisin cakes of the pagans." 3:2 So I bought her for myself for fifteen shekels of silver, and one and one-half homers of barley. 3:3 And I said to her, "You shall stay with me many days; you shall not play the harlot, nor shall you have a man-so, too, will I be toward you." 3:4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, without ephod or teraphim. 3:5 Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They shall fear the Lord and His goodness in the latter days.
4:1 Hear the word of the Lord,You children of Israel,For the Lord brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land:"There is no truth or mercyOr knowledge of God in the land. 4:2 By swearing and lying,Killing and stealing and committing adultery,They break all restraint,With bloodshed upon bloodshed. 4:3 Therefore the land will mourn;And everyone who dwells there will waste awayWith the beasts of the fieldAnd the birds of the air;Even the fish of the sea will be taken away. 4:4 "Now let no man contend, or rebuke another;For your people are like those who contend with the priest. 4:5 Therefore you shall stumble in the day;The prophet also shall stumble with you in the night;And I will destroy your mother. 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.Because you have rejected knowledge,I also will reject you from being priest for Me;Because you have forgotten the law of your God,I also will forget your children. 4:7 "The more they increased,The more they sinned against Me;I will change their glory into shame. 4:8 They eat up the sin of My people;They set their heart on their iniquity. 4:9 And it shall be: like people, like priest.So I will punish them for their ways,And reward them for their deeds. 4:10 For they shall eat, but not have enough;They shall commit harlotry, but not increase;Because they have ceased obeying the Lord. 4:11 "Harlotry, wine, and new wine enslave the heart. 4:12 My people ask counsel from their wooden idols,And their staff informs them.For the spirit of harlotry has caused them to stray,And they have played the harlot against their God. 4:13 They offer sacrifices on the mountaintops,And burn incense on the hills,Under oaks, poplars, and terebinths,Because their shade is good.Therefore your daughters commit harlotry,And your brides commit adultery. 4:14 "I will not punish your daughters when they commit harlotry,Nor your brides when they commit adultery;For the men themselves go apart with harlots,And offer sacrifices with a ritual harlot.Therefore people who do not understand will be trampled. 4:15 "Though you, Israel, play the harlot,Let not Judah offend.Do not come up to Gilgal,Nor go up to Beth Aven,Nor swear an oath, saying, 'As the Lord lives'- 4:16 "For Israel is stubbornLike a stubborn calf;Now the Lord will let them forageLike a lamb in open country. 4:17 "Ephraim is joined to idols,Let him alone. 4:18 Their drink is rebellion,They commit harlotry continually.Her rulers dearly love dishonor. 4:19 The wind has wrapped her up in its wings,And they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.
3:11 このように、すべてのものは滅び去るのですから、あなたがたは聖なる信心深い生活を送らなければなりません。 3:12 神の日の来るのを待ち望み、また、それが来るのを早めるようにすべきです。その日、天は焼け崩れ、自然界の諸要素は燃え尽き、熔け去ることでしょう。 3:13 しかしわたしたちは、義の宿る新しい天と新しい地とを、神の約束に従って待ち望んでいるのです。 3:14 だから、愛する人たち、このことを待ち望みながら、きずや汚れが何一つなく、平和に過ごしていると神に認めていただけるように励みなさい。 3:15 また、わたしたちの主の忍耐深さを、救いと考えなさい。それは、わたしたちの愛する兄弟パウロが、神から授かった知恵に基づいて、あなたがたに書き送ったことでもあります。 3:16 彼は、どの手紙の中でもこのことについて述べています。その手紙には難しく理解しにくい個所があって、無学な人や心の定まらない人は、それを聖書のほかの部分と同様に曲解し、自分の滅びを招いています。 3:17 それで、愛する人たち、あなたがたはこのことをあらかじめ知っているのですから、不道徳な者たちに唆されて、堅固な足場を失わないように注意しなさい。 3:18 わたしたちの主、救い主イエス・キリストの恵みと知識において、成長しなさい。このイエス・キリストに、今も、また永遠に栄光がありますように、アーメン。
3:11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 3:12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 3:14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 3:15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation-as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 3:16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures. 3:17 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 3:18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
