2:1 シオンで角笛を吹き／わが聖なる山で鬨の声をあげよ。この国に住む者は皆、おののけ。主の日が来る、主の日が近づく。 2:2 それは闇と暗黒の日、雲と濃霧の日である。強大で数多い民が／山々に広がる曙の光のように襲ってくる。このようなことは、かつて起こったことがなく／これから後も、代々再び起こることはない。 2:3 彼らの行く手を、火が焼き尽くし／彼らの後ろには燃える炎が続く。彼らの来る前、この国はエデンの園のようであった。彼らの去った後には、滅びの荒れ野が残る。何ものもこれを逃れえない。 2:4 その姿は馬のようで／軍馬のように駆ける。 2:5 戦車のような響きをたてて山の頂を駆け巡り／わらを焼く炎のような音をたてる。これは戦いの備えをした強大な民の姿だ。 2:6 その前に、諸国の民はもだえ／どの顔も色を失う。 2:7 彼らは勇士のように走り／戦士のように城壁をよじ登る。おのおの自分の道を進み／進路を外れることはない。 2:8 互いに押し合うことなく／自分の前に敷かれた大路を進む。たとえ投げ槍の間に突進しても／ひるむことはない。 2:9 町の中を駆け巡り／城壁の上を走り／家々によじ登り／盗人のように窓から入り込む。 2:10 その前に、地はおののき、天は震える。太陽も月も暗くなり、星も光を失う。 2:11 主はその軍勢の前で声をとどろかされる。その陣営は甚だ大きく／御言葉を実現される方は力強い。主の日は大いなる日で、甚だ恐ろしい。誰がその日に耐ええよう。
2:12 主は言われる。「今こそ、心からわたしに立ち帰れ／断食し、泣き悲しんで。 2:13 衣を裂くのではなく／お前たちの心を引き裂け。」あなたたちの神、主に立ち帰れ。主は恵みに満ち、憐れみ深く／忍耐強く、慈しみに富み／くだした災いを悔いられるからだ。 2:14 あるいは、主が思い直され／その後に祝福を残し／あなたたちの神、主にささげる穀物とぶどう酒を／残してくださるかもしれない。 2:15 シオンで角笛を吹き／断食を布告し、聖会を召集せよ。 2:16 民を呼び集め、会衆を聖別し／長老を集合させよ。幼子、乳飲み子を呼び集め／花婿を控えの間から／花嫁を祝いの部屋から呼び出せ。 2:17 祭司は神殿の入り口と祭壇の間で泣き／主に仕える者は言うがよい。「主よ、あなたの民を憐れんでください。あなたの嗣業である民を恥に落とさず／国々の嘲りの種としないでください。『彼らの神はどこにいるのか』と／なぜ諸国の民に言わせておかれるのですか。」 2:18 そのとき／主は御自分の国を強く愛し／その民を深く憐れまれた。 2:19 主は答えて、その民に言われた。「見よ、わたしは穀物とぶどうとオリーブを／お前たちに送り、飽き足らせよう。お前たちが国々の中で恥を受けることを／わたしは二度と許さない。 2:20 北から来る者をお前たちから遠ざけ／彼らを乾いた荒廃の地に追いやり／先陣を東の海に、後陣を西の海に追い落とす。その臭気が上り／悪臭が立ちこめる。」まことに、主は偉大な御業を成し遂げられた。 2:21 大地よ、恐れるな、喜び躍れ。主は偉大な御業を成し遂げられた。 2:22 野の獣よ、恐れるな。荒れ野の草地は緑となり／木は実を結び／いちじくとぶどうは豊かな実りをもたらす。 2:23 シオンの子らよ。あなたたちの神なる主によって喜び躍れ。主はあなたたちを救うために／秋の雨を与えて豊かに降らせてくださる。元のように、秋の雨と春の雨をお与えになる。 2:24 麦打ち場は穀物に満ち／搾り場は新しい酒と油に溢れる。 2:25 わたしがお前たちに送った大軍／すなわち、かみ食らういなご／移住するいなご、若いいなご／食い荒らすいなごの／食い荒らした幾年もの損害をわたしは償う。 2:26 お前たちは豊かに食べて飽き足り／驚くべきことを／お前たちのために成し遂げられた主／お前たちの神なる主の御名を／ほめたたえるであろう。わたしの民は、とこしえに恥を受けることはない。 2:27 イスラエルのうちにわたしがいることを／お前たちは知るようになる。わたしはお前たちの神なる主、ほかに神はいない。わたしの民は、とこしえに恥を受けることはない。
2:1 Blow the trumpet in Zion,And sound an alarm in My holy mountain!Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble;For the day of the Lord is coming,For it is at hand: 2:2 A day of darkness and gloominess,A day of clouds and thick darkness,Like the morning clouds spread over the mountains.A people come, great and strong,The like of whom has never been;Nor will there ever be any such after them,Even for many successive generations. 2:3 A fire devours before them,And behind them a flame burns;The land is like the Garden of Eden before them,And behind them a desolate wilderness;Surely nothing shall escape them. 2:4 Their appearance is like the appearance of horses;And like swift steeds, so they run. 2:5 With a noise like chariotsOver mountaintops they leap,Like the noise of a flaming fire that devours the stubble,Like a strong people set in battle array. 2:6 Before them the people writhe in pain;All faces are drained of color. 2:7 They run like mighty men,They climb the wall like men of war;Every one marches in formation,And they do not break ranks. 2:8 They do not push one another;Every one marches in his own column.Though they lunge between the weapons,They are not cut down. 2:9 They run to and fro in the city,They run on the wall;They climb into the houses,They enter at the windows like a thief. 2:10 The earth quakes before them,The heavens tremble;The sun and moon grow dark,And the stars diminish their brightness. 2:11 The Lord gives voice before His army,For His camp is very great;For strong is the One who executes His word.For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible;Who can endure it? 2:12 "Now, therefore," says the Lord,"Turn to Me with all your heart,With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning." 2:13 So rend your heart, and not your garments;Return to the Lord your God,For He is gracious and merciful,Slow to anger, and of great kindness;And He relents from doing harm. 2:14 Who knows if He will turn and relent,And leave a blessing behind Him-A grain offering and a drink offeringFor the Lord your God? 2:15 Blow the trumpet in Zion,Consecrate a fast,Call a sacred assembly; 2:16 Gather the people,Sanctify the congregation,Assemble the elders,Gather the children and nursing babes;Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber,And the bride from her dressing room. 2:17 Let the priests, who minister to the Lord,Weep between the porch and the altar;Let them say, "Spare Your people, O Lord,And do not give Your heritage to reproach,That the nations should rule over them.Why should they say among the peoples,'Where is their God?' " 2:18 Then the Lord will be zealous for His land,And pity His people. 2:19 The Lord will answer and say to His people,"Behold, I will send you grain and new wine and oil,And you will be satisfied by them;I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations. 2:20 "But I will remove far from you the northern army,And will drive him away into a barren and desolate land,With his face toward the eastern seaAnd his back toward the western sea;His stench will come up,And his foul odor will rise,Because he has done monstrous things." 2:21 Fear not, O land;Be glad and rejoice,For the Lord has done marvelous things! 2:22 Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field;For the open pastures are springing up,And the tree bears its fruit;The fig tree and the vine yield their strength. 2:23 Be glad then, you children of Zion,And rejoice in the Lord your God;For He has given you the former rain faithfully,And He will cause the rain to come down for you-The former rain,And the latter rain in the first month. 2:24 The threshing floors shall be full of wheat,And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. 2:25 "So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,The crawling locust,The consuming locust,And the chewing locust,My great army which I sent among you. 2:26 You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,And praise the name of the Lord your God,Who has dealt wondrously with you;And My people shall never be put to shame. 2:27 Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:I am the Lord your GodAnd there is no other.My people shall never be put to shame. 2:28 "And it shall come to pass afterwardThat I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,Your old men shall dream dreams,Your young men shall see visions. 2:29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservantsI will pour out My Spirit in those days. 2:30 "And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth:Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness,And the moon into blood,Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. 2:32 And it shall come to passThat whoever calls on the name of the LordShall be saved.For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance,As the Lord has said,Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.
5:13 神の子の名を信じているあなたがたに、これらのことを書き送るのは、永遠の命を得ていることを悟らせたいからです。 5:14 何事でも神の御心に適うことをわたしたちが願うなら、神は聞き入れてくださる。これが神に対するわたしたちの確信です。 5:15 わたしたちは、願い事は何でも聞き入れてくださるということが分かるなら、神に願ったことは既にかなえられていることも分かります。 5:16 死に至らない罪を犯している兄弟を見たら、その人のために神に願いなさい。そうすれば、神はその人に命をお与えになります。これは、死に至らない罪を犯している人々の場合です。死に至る罪があります。これについては、神に願うようにとは言いません。 5:17 不義はすべて罪です。しかし、死に至らない罪もあります。 5:18 わたしたちは知っています。すべて神から生まれた者は罪を犯しません。神からお生まれになった方が、その人を守ってくださり、悪い者は手を触れることができません。 5:19 わたしたちは知っています。わたしたちは神に属する者ですが、この世全体が悪い者の支配下にあるのです。 5:20 わたしたちは知っています。神の子が来て、真実な方を知る力を与えてくださいました。わたしたちは真実な方の内に、その御子イエス・キリストの内にいるのです。この方こそ、真実の神、永遠の命です。 5:21 子たちよ、偶像を避けなさい。
5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. 5:14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 5:15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 5:16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that. 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death. 5:18 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. 5:19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. 5:20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
