3:1 "For behold, in those days and at that time,When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, 3:2 I will also gather all nations,And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;And I will enter into judgment with them thereOn account of My people, My heritage Israel,Whom they have scattered among the nations;They have also divided up My land. 3:3 They have cast lots for My people,Have given a boy as payment for a harlot,And sold a girl for wine, that they may drink. 3:4 "Indeed, what have you to do with Me,O Tyre and Sidon, and all the coasts of Philistia?Will you retaliate against Me?But if you retaliate against Me,Swiftly and speedily I will return your retaliation upon your own head; 3:5 Because you have taken My silver and My gold,And have carried into your temples My prized possessions. 3:6 Also the people of Judah and the people of JerusalemYou have sold to the Greeks,That you may remove them far from their borders. 3:7 "Behold, I will raise themOut of the place to which you have sold them,And will return your retaliation upon your own head. 3:8 I will sell your sons and your daughtersInto the hand of the people of Judah,And they will sell them to the Sabeans,To a people far off;For the Lord has spoken." 3:9 Proclaim this among the nations:"Prepare for war!Wake up the mighty men,Let all the men of war draw near,Let them come up. 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swordsAnd your pruning hooks into spears;Let the weak say, 'I am strong.' " 3:11 Assemble and come, all you nations,And gather together all around.Cause Your mighty ones to go down there, O Lord. 3:12 "Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. 3:13 Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe.Come, go down;For the winepress is full,The vats overflow-For their wickedness is great." 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. 3:15 The sun and moon will grow dark,And the stars will diminish their brightness. 3:16 The Lord also will roar from Zion,And utter His voice from Jerusalem;The heavens and earth will shake;But the Lord will be a shelter for His people,And the strength of the children of Israel. 3:17 "So you shall know that I am the Lord your God,Dwelling in Zion My holy mountain.Then Jerusalem shall be holy,And no aliens shall ever pass through her again." 3:18 And it will come to pass in that dayThat the mountains shall drip with new wine,The hills shall flow with milk,And all the brooks of Judah shall be flooded with water;A fountain shall flow from the house of the LordAnd water the Valley of Acacias. 3:19 "Egypt shall be a desolation,And Edom a desolate wilderness,Because of violence against the people of Judah,For they have shed innocent blood in their land. 3:20 But Judah shall abide forever,And Jerusalem from generation to generation. 3:21 "For I will acquit them of the guilt of bloodshed, whom I had not acquitted;For the Lord dwells in Zion."

1:4 あなたの子供たちの中に、わたしたちが御父から受けた掟どおりに、真理に歩んでいる人がいるのを知って、大変うれしく思いました。 1:5 さて、婦人よ、あなたにお願いしたいことがあります。わたしが書くのは新しい掟ではなく、初めからわたしたちが持っていた掟、つまり互いに愛し合うということです。 1:6 愛とは、御父の掟に従って歩むことであり、この掟とは、あなたがたが初めから聞いていたように、愛に歩むことです。 1:7 このように書くのは、人を惑わす者が大勢世に出て来たからです。彼らは、イエス・キリストが肉となって来られたことを公に言い表そうとしません。こういう者は人を惑わす者、反キリストです。 1:8 気をつけて、わたしたちが努力して得たものを失うことなく、豊かな報いを受けるようにしなさい。 1:9 だれであろうと、キリストの教えを越えて、これにとどまらない者は、神に結ばれていません。その教えにとどまっている人にこそ、御父も御子もおられます。 1:10 この教えを携えずにあなたがたのところに来る者は、家に入れてはなりません。挨拶してもなりません。 1:11 そのような者に挨拶する人は、その悪い行いに加わるのです。
1:12 あなたがたに書くことはまだいろいろありますが、紙とインクで書こうとは思いません。わたしたちの喜びが満ちあふれるように、あなたがたのところに行って親しく話し合いたいものです。 1:13 あなたの姉妹、選ばれた婦人の子供たちが、あなたによろしくと言っています。
1:1 THE ELDER, To the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth, 1:2 because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever: 1:3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. 1:4 I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, as we received commandment from the Father. 1:5 And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another. 1:6 This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it. 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. 1:9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 1:10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; 1:11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds. 1:12 Having many things to write to you, I did not wish to do so with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you and speak face to face, that our joy may be full. 1:13 The children of your elect sister greet you.
