5:1 エフラタのベツレヘムよ／お前はユダの氏族の中でいと小さき者。お前の中から、わたしのために／イスラエルを治める者が出る。彼の出生は古く、永遠の昔にさかのぼる。 5:2 まことに、主は彼らを捨ておかれる／産婦が子を産むときまで。そのとき、彼の兄弟の残りの者は／イスラエルの子らのもとに帰って来る。 5:3 彼は立って、群れを養う／主の力、神である主の御名の威厳をもって。彼らは安らかに住まう。今や、彼は大いなる者となり／その力が地の果てに及ぶからだ。 5:4 彼こそ、まさしく平和である。アッシリアが我々の国を襲い／我々の城郭を踏みにじろうとしても／我々は彼らに立ち向かい／七人の牧者、八人の君主を立てる。 5:5 彼らは剣をもってアッシリアの国を／抜き身の剣をもってニムロドの国を牧す。アッシリアが我々の国土を襲い／我々の領土を踏みにじろうとしても／彼らが我々を救ってくれる。 5:6 ヤコブの残りの者は／多くの民のただ中にいて／主から降りる露のよう／草の上に降る雨のようだ。彼らは人の力に望みをおかず／人の子らを頼りとしない。 5:7 ヤコブの残りの者は／諸国の間、多くの民のただ中にいて／森の獣の中にいる獅子／羊の群れの中にいる若獅子のようだ。彼が進み出れば、必ず踏みつけ／引き裂けば、救いうるものはない。 5:8 お前に敵する者に向かって／お前の手を上げれば、敵はすべて倒される。 5:9 その日が来れば、と主は言われる。わたしはお前の中から軍馬を絶ち／戦車を滅ぼす。 5:10 わたしはお前の国の町々を絶ち／砦をことごとく撃ち壊す。 5:11 わたしはお前の手から呪文を絶ち／魔術師はお前の中から姿を消す。 5:12 わたしはお前の偶像を絶ち／お前の中から石柱を絶つ。お前はもはや自分の手で造ったものに／ひれ伏すことはない。 5:13 わたしはお前の中からアシェラ像を引き抜き／町々を破壊する。 5:14 また、怒りと憤りをもって／聞き従わない国々に復讐を行う。
5:1 Now gather yourself in troops,O daughter of troops;He has laid siege against us;They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek. 5:2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,Though you are little among the thousands of Judah,Yet out of you shall come forth to MeThe One to be Ruler in Israel,Whose goings forth are from of old,From everlasting." 5:3 Therefore He shall give them up,Until the time that she who is in labor has given birth;Then the remnant of His brethrenShall return to the children of Israel. 5:4 And He shall stand and feed His flockIn the strength of the Lord,In the majesty of the name of the Lord His God;And they shall abide,For now He shall be greatTo the ends of the earth; 5:5 And this One shall be peace.When the Assyrian comes into our land,And when he treads in our palaces,Then we will raise against himSeven shepherds and eight princely men. 5:6 They shall waste with the sword the land of Assyria,And the land of Nimrod at its entrances;Thus He shall deliver us from the Assyrian,When he comes into our landAnd when he treads within our borders. 5:7 Then the remnant of JacobShall be in the midst of many peoples,Like dew from the Lord,Like showers on the grass,That tarry for no manNor wait for the sons of men. 5:8 And the remnant of JacobShall be among the Gentiles,In the midst of many peoples,Like a lion among the beasts of the forest,Like a young lion among flocks of sheep,Who, if he passes through,Both treads down and tears in pieces,And none can deliver. 5:9 Your hand shall be lifted against your adversaries,And all your enemies shall be cut off. 5:10 "And it shall be in that day," says the Lord,"That I will cut off your horses from your midstAnd destroy your chariots. 5:11 I will cut off the cities of your landAnd throw down all your strongholds. 5:12 I will cut off sorceries from your hand,And you shall have no soothsayers. 5:13 Your carved images I will also cut off,And your sacred pillars from your midst;You shall no more worship the work of your hands; 5:14 I will pluck your wooden images from your midst;Thus I will destroy your cities. 5:15 And I will execute vengeance in anger and furyOn the nations that have not heard."
6:9 小羊が第五の封印を開いたとき、神の言葉と自分たちがたてた証しのために殺された人々の魂を、わたしは祭壇の下に見た。 6:10 彼らは大声でこう叫んだ。「真実で聖なる主よ、いつまで裁きを行わず、地に住む者にわたしたちの血の復讐をなさらないのですか。」 6:11 すると、その一人一人に、白い衣が与えられ、また、自分たちと同じように殺されようとしている兄弟であり、仲間の僕である者たちの数が満ちるまで、なお、しばらく静かに待つようにと告げられた。 6:12 また、見ていると、小羊が第六の封印を開いた。そのとき、大地震が起きて、太陽は毛の粗い布地のように暗くなり、月は全体が血のようになって、 6:13 天の星は地上に落ちた。まるで、いちじくの青い実が、大風に揺さぶられて振り落とされるようだった。 6:14 天は巻物が巻き取られるように消え去り、山も島も、みなその場所から移された。 6:15 地上の王、高官、千人隊長、富める者、力ある者、また、奴隷も自由な身分の者もことごとく、洞穴や山の岩間に隠れ、 6:16 山と岩に向かって、「わたしたちの上に覆いかぶさって、玉座に座っておられる方の顔と小羊の怒りから、わたしたちをかくまってくれ」と言った。 6:17 神と小羊の怒りの大いなる日が来たからである。だれがそれに耐えられるであろうか。
6:9 When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" 6:11 Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed. 6:12 I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. 6:14 Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. 6:15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, 6:16 and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 6:17 "For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"
