11:1 まだ幼かったイスラエルをわたしは愛した。エジプトから彼を呼び出し、わが子とした。 11:2 わたしが彼らを呼び出したのに／彼らはわたしから去って行き／バアルに犠牲をささげ／偶像に香をたいた。 11:3 エフライムの腕を支えて／歩くことを教えたのは、わたしだ。しかし、わたしが彼らをいやしたことを／彼らは知らなかった。 11:4 わたしは人間の綱、愛のきずなで彼らを導き／彼らの顎から軛を取り去り／身をかがめて食べさせた。 11:5 彼らはエジプトの地に帰ることもできず／アッシリアが彼らの王となる。彼らが立ち帰ることを拒んだからだ。 11:6 剣は町々で荒れ狂い、たわ言を言う者を断ち／たくらみのゆえに滅ぼす。 11:7 わが民はかたくなにわたしに背いている。たとえ彼らが天に向かって叫んでも／助け起こされることは決してない。 11:8 ああ、エフライムよ／お前を見捨てることができようか。イスラエルよ／お前を引き渡すことができようか。アドマのようにお前を見捨て／ツェボイムのようにすることができようか。わたしは激しく心を動かされ／憐れみに胸を焼かれる。 11:9 わたしは、もはや怒りに燃えることなく／エフライムを再び滅ぼすことはしない。わたしは神であり、人間ではない。お前たちのうちにあって聖なる者。怒りをもって臨みはしない。 11:10 獅子のようにほえる主に彼らは従う。主がその声をあげるとき／その子らは海のかなたから恐れつつやって来る。 11:11 彼らは恐れつつ飛んで来る。小鳥のようにエジプトから／鳩のようにアッシリアの地から。わたしは彼らをおのおのの家に住まわせると／主は言われる。
11:1 "When Israel was a child, I loved him,And out of Egypt I called My son. 11:2 As they called them,So they went from them;They sacrificed to the Baals,And burned incense to carved images. 11:3 "I taught Ephraim to walk,Taking them by their arms;But they did not know that I healed them. 11:4 I drew them with gentle cords,With bands of love,And I was to them as those who take the yoke from their neck.I stooped and fed them. 11:5 "He shall not return to the land of Egypt;But the Assyrian shall be his king,Because they refused to repent. 11:6 And the sword shall slash in his cities,Devour his districts,And consume them,Because of their own counsels. 11:7 My people are bent on backsliding from Me.Though they call to the Most High,None at all exalt Him. 11:8 "How can I give you up, Ephraim?How can I hand you over, Israel?How can I make you like Admah?How can I set you like Zeboiim?My heart churns within Me;My sympathy is stirred. 11:9 I will not execute the fierceness of My anger;I will not again destroy Ephraim.For I am God, and not man,The Holy One in your midst;And I will not come with terror. 11:10 "They shall walk after the Lord.He will roar like a lion.When He roars,Then His sons shall come trembling from the west; 11:11 They shall come trembling like a bird from Egypt,Like a dove from the land of Assyria.And I will let them dwell in their houses,"Says the Lord. 11:12 "Ephraim has encircled Me with lies,And the house of Israel with deceit;But Judah still walks with God,Even with the Holy One who is faithful.
3:1 御父がどれほどわたしたちを愛してくださるか、考えなさい。それは、わたしたちが神の子と呼ばれるほどで、事実また、そのとおりです。世がわたしたちを知らないのは、御父を知らなかったからです。 3:2 愛する者たち、わたしたちは、今既に神の子ですが、自分がどのようになるかは、まだ示されていません。しかし、御子が現れるとき、御子に似た者となるということを知っています。なぜなら、そのとき御子をありのままに見るからです。 3:3 御子にこの望みをかけている人は皆、御子が清いように、自分を清めます。 3:4 罪を犯す者は皆、法にも背くのです。罪とは、法に背くことです。 3:5 あなたがたも知っているように、御子は罪を除くために現れました。御子には罪がありません。 3:6 御子の内にいつもいる人は皆、罪を犯しません。罪を犯す者は皆、御子を見たこともなく、知ってもいません。 3:7 子たちよ、だれにも惑わされないようにしなさい。義を行う者は、御子と同じように、正しい人です。 3:8 罪を犯す者は悪魔に属します。悪魔は初めから罪を犯しているからです。悪魔の働きを滅ぼすためにこそ、神の子が現れたのです。 3:9 神から生まれた人は皆、罪を犯しません。神の種がこの人の内にいつもあるからです。この人は神から生まれたので、罪を犯すことができません。 3:10 神の子たちと悪魔の子たちの区別は明ら
かです。正しい生活をしない者は皆、神に属していません。自分の兄弟を愛さない者も同様です。3:11 なぜなら、互いに愛し合うこと、これがあなたがたの初めから聞いている教えだからです。 3:12 カインのようになってはなりません。彼は悪い者に属して、兄弟を殺しました。なぜ殺したのか。自分の行いが悪く、兄弟の行いが正しかったからです。
3:1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3:3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 3:4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 3:5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 3:6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. 3:7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 3:9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. 3:10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. 3:11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 3:12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous.
