12:1 エフライムは偽りをもって／イスラエルの家は欺きをもって／わたしを取り巻いた。ユダはいまだに神から離れてさまよい／偶像を聖なるものとして信頼している。 12:2 エフライムは風の牧者となり／一日中、熱風を追って歩く。欺瞞と暴虐を重ね／アッシリアと契約を結び／油をエジプトへ貢ぐ。 12:3 主はユダを告発される。ヤコブをその歩みにしたがって罰し／その悪い行いに報いられる。 12:4 ヤコブは母の胎にいたときから／兄のかかとをつかみ／力を尽くして神と争った。 12:5 神の使いと争って勝ち／泣いて恵みを乞うた。神はベテルで彼を見いだし／そこで彼と語られた。 12:6 主こそ万軍の神／その御名は主と唱えられる。 12:7 神のもとに立ち帰れ。愛と正義を保ち／常にあなたの神を待ち望め。 12:8 商人は欺きの秤を手にし、搾取を愛する。 12:9 エフライムは言う。「わたしは豊かになり、富を得た。この財産がすべて罪と悪とで積み上げられたとは／だれも気づくまい。」 12:10 わたしこそあなたの神、主。エジプトの地からあなたを導き上った。わたしは再びあなたを天幕に住まわせる／わたしがあなたと共にあった日々のように。 12:11 わたしは預言者たちに言葉を伝え／多くの幻を示し／預言者たちによってたとえを示した。 12:12 ギレアドには忌むべきものがある。まことにそれらはむなしい。ギルガルでは雄牛に犠牲をささげている。その祭壇は畑の畝に積まれた石塚にすぎない。 12:13 ヤコブはアラムの野に逃れ／イスラエルは妻を得るために仕え／また妻を得るために群れを守った。 12:14 主は一人の預言者によって／イスラエルをエジプトから導き上らせ／預言者によって彼らを守られた。 12:15 エフライムは主を激しく怒らせた。主は流血の報いを彼に下し／その恥辱を彼に返される。
12:1 "Ephraim feeds on the wind,And pursues the east wind;He daily increases lies and desolation.Also they make a covenant with the Assyrians,And oil is carried to Egypt. 12:2 "The Lord also brings a charge against Judah,And will punish Jacob according to his ways;According to his deeds He will recompense him. 12:3 He took his brother by the heel in the womb,And in his strength he struggled with God. 12:4 Yes, he struggled with the Angel and prevailed;He wept, and sought favor from Him.He found Him in Bethel,And there He spoke to us- 12:5 That is, the Lord God of hosts.The Lord is His memorable name. 12:6 So you, by the help of your God, return;Observe mercy and justice,And wait on your God continually. 12:7 "A cunning Canaanite!Deceitful scales are in his hand;He loves to oppress. 12:8 And Ephraim said,'Surely I have become rich,I have found wealth for myself;In all my laborsThey shall find in me no iniquity that is sin.' 12:9 "But I am the Lord your God,Ever since the land of Egypt;I will again make you dwell in tents,As in the days of the appointed feast. 12:10 I have also spoken by the prophets,And have multiplied visions;I have given symbols through the witness of the prophets." 12:11 Though Gilead has idols-Surely they are vanity-Though they sacrifice bulls in Gilgal,Indeed their altars shall be heaps in the furrows of the field. 12:12 Jacob fled to the country of Syria;Israel served for a spouse,And for a wife he tended sheep. 12:13 By a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt,And by a prophet he was preserved. 12:14 Ephraim provoked Him to anger most bitterly;Therefore his Lord will leave the guilt of his bloodshed upon him,And return his reproach upon him.
3:13 だから兄弟たち、世があなたがたを憎んでも、驚くことはありません。 3:14 わたしたちは、自分が死から命へと移ったことを知っています。兄弟を愛しているからです。愛することのない者は、死にとどまったままです。 3:15 兄弟を憎む者は皆、人殺しです。あなたがたの知っているとおり、すべて人殺しには永遠の命がとどまっていません。 3:16 イエスは、わたしたちのために、命を捨ててくださいました。そのことによって、わたしたちは愛を知りました。だから、わたしたちも兄弟のために命を捨てるべきです。 3:17 世の富を持ちながら、兄弟が必要な物に事欠くのを見て同情しない者があれば、どうして神の愛がそのような者の内にとどまるでしょう。 3:18 子たちよ、言葉や口先だけではなく、行いをもって誠実に愛し合おう。
3:19 これによって、わたしたちは自分が真理に属していることを知り、神の御前で安心できます、 3:20 心に責められることがあろうとも。神は、わたしたちの心よりも大きく、すべてをご存じだからです。 3:21 愛する者たち、わたしたちは心に責められることがなければ、神の御前で確信を持つことができ、 3:22 神に願うことは何でもかなえられます。わたしたちが神の掟を守り、御心に適うことを行っているからです。 3:23 その掟とは、神の子イエス・キリストの名を信じ、この方がわたしたちに命じられたように、互いに愛し合うことです。 3:24 神の掟を守る人は、神の内にいつもとどまり、神もその人の内にとどまってくださいます。神がわたしたちの内にとどまってくださることは、神が与えてくださった“霊”によって分かります。
3:13 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you. 3:14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. 3:15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 3:16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 3:17 But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 3:19 And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. 3:20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. 3:21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. 3:22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 3:23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. 3:24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
