14:1 サマリアは罰せられる。その神に背いたからだ。住民は剣に倒れ／幼子は打ち殺され／妊婦は引き裂かれる。
14:2 イスラエルよ、立ち帰れ／あなたの神、主のもとへ。あなたは咎につまずき、悪の中にいる。 14:3 誓いの言葉を携え／主に立ち帰って言え。「すべての悪を取り去り／恵みをお与えください。この唇をもって誓ったことを果たします。 14:4 アッシリアはわたしたちの救いではありません。わたしたちはもはや軍馬に乗りません。自分の手が造ったものを／再びわたしたちの神とは呼びません。親を失った者は／あなたにこそ憐れみを見いだします。」 14:5 わたしは背く彼らをいやし／喜んで彼らを愛する。まことに、わたしの怒りは彼らを離れ去った。 14:6 露のようにわたしはイスラエルに臨み／彼はゆりのように花咲き／レバノンの杉のように根を張る。 14:7 その若枝は広がり／オリーブのように美しく／レバノンの杉のように香る。 14:8 その陰に宿る人々は再び／麦のように育ち／ぶどうのように花咲く。彼はレバノンのぶどう酒のようにたたえられる。 14:9 ああエフライム／なおも、わたしを偶像と比べるのか。彼の求めにこたえ／彼を見守るのはわたしではないか。わたしは命に満ちた糸杉。あなたは、わたしによって実を結ぶ。 14:10 知恵ある者はこれらのことをわきまえよ。わきまえある者はそれを悟れ。主の道は正しい。神に従う者はその道に歩み／神に背く者はその道につまずく。
14:1 O Israel, return to the Lord your God,For you have stumbled because of your iniquity; 14:2 Take words with you,And return to the Lord.Say to Him,"Take away all iniquity;Receive us graciously,For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips. 14:3 Assyria shall not save us,We will not ride on horses,Nor will we say anymore to the work of our hands,'You are our gods.'For in You the fatherless finds mercy." 14:4 "I will heal their backsliding,I will love them freely,For My anger has turned away from him. 14:5 I will be like the dew to Israel;He shall grow like the lily,And lengthen his roots like Lebanon. 14:6 His branches shall spread;His beauty shall be like an olive tree,And his fragrance like Lebanon. 14:7 Those who dwell under his shadow shall return;They shall be revived like grain,And grow like a vine.Their scent shall be like the wine of Lebanon. 14:8 "Ephraim shall say,'What have I to do anymore with idols?'I have heard and observed him.I am like a green cypress tree;Your fruit is found in Me." 14:9 Who is wise?Let him understand these things.Who is prudent?Let him know them.For the ways of the Lord are right;The righteous walk in them,But transgressors stumble in them.
4:13 神はわたしたちに、御自分の霊を分け与えてくださいました。このことから、わたしたちが神の内にとどまり、神もわたしたちの内にとどまってくださることが分かります。 4:14 わたしたちはまた、御父が御子を世の救い主として遣わされたことを見、またそのことを証ししています。 4:15 イエスが神の子であることを公に言い表す人はだれでも、神がその人の内にとどまってくださり、その人も神の内にとどまります。 4:16 わたしたちは、わたしたちに対する神の愛を知り、また信じています。神は愛です。愛にとどまる人は、神の内にとどまり、神もその人の内にとどまってくださいます。 4:17 こうして、愛がわたしたちの内に全うされているので、裁きの日に確信を持つことができます。この世でわたしたちも、イエスのようであるからです。 4:18 愛には恐れがない。完全な愛は恐れを締め出します。なぜなら、恐れは罰を伴い、恐れる者には愛が全うされていないからです。 4:19 わたしたちが愛するのは、神がまずわたしたちを愛してくださったからです。 4:20 「神を愛している」と言いながら兄弟を憎む者がいれば、それは偽り者です。目に見える兄弟を愛さない者は、目に見えない神を愛することができません。 4:21 神を愛する人は、兄弟をも愛すべきです。これが、神から受けた掟です。
4:13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. 4:14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. 4:15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. 4:17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 4:19 We love Him because He first loved us. 4:20 If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? 4:21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
