2:1 Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together,O undesirable nation, 2:2 Before the decree is issued,Or the day passes like chaff,Before the Lord's fierce anger comes upon you,Before the day of the Lord's anger comes upon you! 2:3 Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth,Who have upheld His justice.Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hiddenIn the day of the Lord's anger. 2:4 For Gaza shall be forsaken,And Ashkelon desolate; They shall drive out Ashdod at noonday,And Ekron shall be uprooted. 2:5 Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast,The nation of the Cherethites! The word of the Lord is against you,O Canaan, land of the Philistines:"I will destroy you;So there shall be no inhabitant." 2:6 The seacoast shall be pastures,With shelters for shepherds and folds for flocks. 2:7 The coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; They shall feed their flocks there; In the houses of Ashkelon they shall lie down at evening. For the Lord their God will intervene for them,And return their captives. 2:8 "I have heard the reproach of Moab,And the insults of the people of Ammon,With which they have reproached My people,And made arrogant threats against their borders. 2:9 Therefore, as I live,"Says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel,"Surely Moab shall be like Sodom,And the people of Ammon like Gomorrah-Overrun with weeds and saltpits,And a perpetual desolation. The residue of My people shall plunder them,And the remnant of My people shall possess them." 2:10 This they shall have for their pride,Because they have reproached and made arrogant threatsAgainst the people of the Lord of hosts. 2:11 The Lord will be awesome to them,For He will reduce to nothing all the gods of the earth;People shall worship Him,Each one from his place,Indeed all the shores of the nations. 2:12 "You Ethiopians also,You shall be slain by My sword." 2:13 And He will stretch out His hand against the north,Destroy Assyria,And make Nineveh a desolation,As dry as the wilderness. 2:14 The herds shall lie down in her midst,Every beast of the nation. Both the pelican and the bitternShall lodge on the capitals of her pillars;Their voice shall sing in the windows;Desolation shall be at the threshold; For He will lay bare the cedar work. 2:15 This is the rejoicing cityThat dwelt securely,That said in her heart,"I am it, and there is none besides me."How has she become a desolation,A place for beasts to lie down!Everyone who passes by herShall hiss and shake his fist.

12:1 Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. 12:2 Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth. 12:3 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. 12:4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. 12:5 She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne. 12:6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days. 12:7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 12:8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 12:9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 12:11 "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12:12 "Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time."
