2:1 "And now, O priests, this commandment is for you. 2:2 If you will not hear,And if you will not take it to heart,To give glory to My name,"Says the Lord of hosts,"I will send a curse upon you,And I will curse your blessings.Yes, I have cursed them already,Because you do not take it to heart. 2:3 "Behold, I will rebuke your descendantsAnd spread refuse on your faces,The refuse of your solemn feasts; And one will take you away with it. 2:4 Then you shall know that I have sent this commandment to you,That My covenant with Levi may continue,"Says the Lord of hosts. 2:5 "My covenant was with him, one of life and peace,And I gave them to him that he might fear Me;So he feared MeAnd was reverent before My name. 2:6 The law of truth was in his mouth,And injustice was not found on his lips.He walked with Me in peace and equity,And turned many away from iniquity. 2:7 "For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge,And people should seek the law from his mouth; For he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. 2:8 But you have departed from the way;You have caused many to stumble at the law.You have corrupted the covenant of Levi,"Says the Lord of hosts. 2:9 "Therefore I also have made you contemptible and baseBefore all the people,Because you have not kept My waysBut have shown partiality in the law." 2:10 Have we not all one Father?Has not one God created us?Why do we deal treacherously with one anotherBy profaning the covenant of the fathers? 2:11 Judah has dealt treacherously,And an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem,For Judah has profanedThe Lord's holy institution which He loves:He has married the daughter of a foreign god. 2:12 May the Lord cut off from the tents of JacobThe man who does this, being awake and aware,Yet who brings an offering to the Lord of hosts! 2:13 And this is the second thing you do:You cover the altar of the Lord with tears,With weeping and crying; So He does not regard the offering anymore,Nor receive it with goodwill from your hands. 2:14 Yet you say, "For what reason?"Because the Lord has been witnessBetween you and the wife of your youth,With whom you have dealt treacherously;Yet she is your companionAnd your wife by covenant. 2:15 But did He not make them one,Having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one?He seeks godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit,And let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth. 2:16 "For the Lord God of Israel saysThat He hates divorce,For it covers one's garment with violence,"Says the Lord of hosts."Therefore take heed to your spirit,That you do not deal treacherously." 2:17 You have wearied the Lord with your words;Yet you say,"In what way have we wearied Him?"In that you say,"Everyone who does evilIs good in the sight of the Lord,And He delights in them,"Or, "Where is the God of justice?"

[ 21 ]

21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 21:2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 21:4 "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." 21:5 Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful." 21:6 And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 21:7 "He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 21:8 "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." 21:9 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, "Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife." 21:10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 21:11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. 21:12 Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 21:13 three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west. 21:14 Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 21:15 And he who talked with me had a gold reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall. 21:16 The city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal. 21:17 Then he measured its wall: one hundred and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. 21:18 The construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. 21:19 The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, 21:20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. 21:21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
