3:1 災いだ、流血の町は。町のすべては偽りに覆われ、略奪に満ち／人を餌食にすることをやめない。 3:2 鞭の音、車輪の響く音／突進する馬、跳び駆ける戦車。 3:3 騎兵は突撃し／剣はきらめき、槍はひらめく。倒れる者はおびただしく／しかばねは山をなし、死体は数えきれない。人々は味方の死体につまずく。 3:4 呪文を唱えるあでやかな遊女の／果てしない淫行のゆえに／彼女がその呪文によって諸民族を／淫行によって国々をとりこにしたゆえに 3:5 見よ、わたしはお前に立ち向かうと／万軍の主は言われる。わたしは、お前の裾を顔の上まで上げ／諸国の民にお前の裸を／もろもろの王国にお前の恥を見せる。 3:6 わたしは、お前に憎むべきものを投げつけ／お前を辱め、見せ物にする。 3:7 お前を見る者は皆、お前から逃げて言う。「ニネベは破壊された／誰が彼女のために嘆くだろうか。」お前を慰める者はどこを探してもいない。 3:8 お前はテーベにまさっているか。ナイルのほとりに座し、水に囲まれ／海を砦とし、水を城壁としていたあの町に。 3:9 クシュはその力／エジプトには限りない力があり／プト人とリビア人もテーベを助けていた。 3:10 彼女もまた捕らえられ／捕囚として連れ去られた。乳飲み子すら、すべての街角で投げ捨てられ／貴族たちはくじで分けられ／大いなる者も皆、鎖につながれた。 3:11 お前もまた、酔いつぶれて我を失う。お前もまた、敵を避けて逃げ場を求める。 3:12 お前の要塞はどれも／初なりの実をつけたいちじくの木だ。揺さぶれば、実が食べる者の口に落ちる。 3:13 見よ、お前のうちにいる兵士は／敵にとって女のようだ。お前の国の門は広く開かれ／かんぬきは火で焼き尽くされる。 3:14 籠城に備えて水をくみ、要塞を堅固にせよ。泥の中に入って、粘土を踏み／れんがの型を固く取れ。 3:15 その所で、火はお前を焼き尽くし／剣はお前を断つ。火はいなごが食い尽くすように／お前を食い尽くす。いなごのようにお前は数を増せ。移住するいなごのように数を増せ。 3:16 お前は空の星よりも商人の数を多くした。しかし、いなごは羽を広げて飛び去るのみ。 3:17 お前を守る部隊は、移住するいなごのように／お前の将軍たちは、群がるいなごのように／寒い日には城壁の間に身をひそめ／日が昇ると飛び去り／どこへ行くのかだれも知らない。 3:18 アッシリアの王よ／お前の牧者たちはまどろみ／貴族たちは眠りこける。お前の兵士たちは山々の上に散らされ／集める者はいない。 3:19 お前の傷を和らげるものはなく／打たれた傷は重い。お前のうわさを聞く者は皆／お前に向かって手をたたく。お前の悪にだれもが／常に悩まされてきたからだ。
3:1 Woe to the bloody city!It is all full of lies and robbery.Its victim never departs. 3:2 The noise of a whipAnd the noise of rattling wheels,Of galloping horses,Of clattering chariots! 3:3 Horsemen charge with bright sword and glittering spear.There is a multitude of slain,A great number of bodies,Countless corpses-They stumble over the corpses- 3:4 Because of the multitude of harlotries of the seductive harlot,The mistress of sorceries,Who sells nations through her harlotries,And families through her sorceries. 3:5 "Behold, I am against you," says the Lord of hosts;"I will lift your skirts over your face,I will show the nations your nakedness,And the kingdoms your shame. 3:6 I will cast abominable filth upon you,Make you vile,And make you a spectacle. 3:7 It shall come to pass that all who look upon youWill flee from you, and say,'Nineveh is laid waste!Who will bemoan her?'Where shall I seek comforters for you?" 3:8 Are you better than No AmonThat was situated by the River,That had the waters around her,Whose rampart was the sea,Whose wall was the sea? 3:9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength,And it was boundless;Put and Lubim were your helpers. 3:10 Yet she was carried away,She went into captivity;Her young children also were dashed to piecesAt the head of every street;They cast lots for her honorable men,And all her great men were bound in chains. 3:11 You also will be drunk;You will be hidden;You also will seek refuge from the enemy. 3:12 All your strongholds are fig trees with ripened figs:If they are shaken,They fall into the mouth of the eater. 3:13 Surely, your people in your midst are women!The gates of your land are wide open for your enemies;Fire shall devour the bars of your gates. 3:14 Draw your water for the siege!Fortify your strongholds!Go into the clay and tread the mortar!Make strong the brick kiln! 3:15 There the fire will devour you,The sword will cut you off;It will eat you up like a locust.Make yourself many-like the locust!Make yourself many-like the swarming locusts! 3:16 You have multiplied your merchants more than the stars of heaven.The locust plunders and flies away. 3:17 Your commanders are like swarming locusts,And your generals like great grasshoppers,Which camp in the hedges on a cold day;When the sun rises they flee away,And the place where they are is not known. 3:18 Your shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria;Your nobles rest in the dust.Your people are scattered on the mountains,And no one gathers them. 3:19 Your injury has no healing,Your wound is severe.All who hear news of youWill clap their hands over you,For upon whom has not your wickedness passed continually?
9:13 第六の天使がラッパを吹いた。すると、神の御前にある金の祭壇の四本の角から一つの声が聞こえた。 9:14 その声は、ラッパを持っている第六の天使に向かってこう言った。「大きな川、ユーフラテスのほとりにつながれている四人の天使を放してやれ。」 9:15 四人の天使は、人間の三分の一を殺すために解き放された。この天使たちは、その年、その月、その日、その時間のために用意されていたのである。 9:16 その騎兵の数は二億、わたしはその数を聞いた。 9:17 わたしは幻の中で馬とそれに乗っている者たちを見たが、その様子はこうであった。彼らは、炎、紫、および硫黄の色の胸当てを着けており、馬の頭は獅子の頭のようで、口からは火と煙と硫黄とを吐いていた。 9:18 その口から吐く火と煙と硫黄、この三つの災いで人間の三分の一が殺された。 9:19 馬の力は口と尾にあって、尾は蛇に似て頭があり、この頭で害を加えるのである。 9:20 これらの災いに遭っても殺されずに残った人間は、自分の手で造ったものについて悔い改めず、なおも、悪霊どもや、金、銀、銅、石、木それぞれで造った偶像を礼拝することをやめなかった。このような偶像は、見ることも、聞くことも、歩くこともできないものである。 9:21 また彼らは人を殺すこと、まじない、みだらな行い、盗みを悔い改めなかった。
9:13 Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 9:14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates." 9:15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. 9:16 Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. 9:17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision: those who sat on them had breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone. 9:18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed-by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths. 9:19 For their power is in their mouth and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents, having heads; and with them they do harm. 9:20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. 9:21 And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.
