1:1 預言者ハバククが、幻で示された託宣。
1:2 主よ、わたしが助けを求めて叫んでいるのに／いつまで、あなたは聞いてくださらないのか。わたしが、あなたに「不法」と訴えているのに／あなたは助けてくださらない。 1:3 どうして、あなたはわたしに災いを見させ／労苦に目を留めさせられるのか。暴虐と不法がわたしの前にあり／争いが起こり、いさかいが持ち上がっている。 1:4 律法は無力となり／正義はいつまでも示されない。神に逆らう者が正しい人を取り囲む。たとえ、正義が示されても曲げられてしまう。
1:5 諸国を見渡し、目を留め／大いに驚くがよい。お前たちの時代に一つのことが行われる。それを告げられても、お前たちは信じまい。 1:6 見よ、わたしはカルデア人を起こす。それは冷酷で剽悍な国民。地上の広い領域に軍を進め／自分のものでない領土を占領する。 1:7 彼らは恐ろしく、すさまじい。彼らから、裁きと支配が出る。 1:8 彼らの馬は豹よりも速く／夕暮れの狼よりも素早く／その騎兵は跳びはねる。騎兵は遠くから来て／獲物に襲いかかる鷲のように飛ぶ。 1:9 彼らは来て、皆、暴虐を行う。どの顔も前方に向き／砂を集めるようにとりこを集める。 1:10 彼らは王たちを嘲り／支配者たちを嘲笑う。どんな砦をも嘲笑って／土を積み上げ、それを攻め取る。 1:11 彼らは風のように来て、過ぎ去る。しかし、彼らは罪に定められる。自分の力を神としたからだ。

1:1 The burden which the prophet Habakkuk saw. 1:2 O Lord, how long shall I cry,And You will not hear?Even cry out to You, "Violence!"And You will not save. 1:3 Why do You show me iniquity,And cause me to see trouble?For plundering and violence are before me;There is strife, and contention arises. 1:4 Therefore the law is powerless,And justice never goes forth.For the wicked surround the righteous;Therefore perverse judgment proceeds. 1:5 "Look among the nations and watch-Be utterly astounded!For I will work a work in your daysWhich you would not believe, though it were told you. 1:6 For indeed I am raising up the Chaldeans,A bitter and hasty nationWhich marches through the breadth of the earth,To possess dwelling places that are not theirs. 1:7 They are terrible and dreadful;Their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves. 1:8 Their horses also are swifter than leopards,And more fierce than evening wolves.Their chargers charge ahead;Their cavalry comes from afar;They fly as the eagle that hastens to eat. 1:9 "They all come for violence;Their faces are set like the east wind.They gather captives like sand. 1:10 They scoff at kings,And princes are scorned by them.They deride every stronghold,For they heap up earthen mounds and seize it. 1:11 Then his mind changes, and he transgresses;He commits offense,Ascribing this power to his god." 1:12 Are You not from everlasting,O Lord my God, my Holy One?We shall not die.O Lord, You have appointed them for judgment;O Rock, You have marked them for correction. 1:13 You are of purer eyes than to behold evil,And cannot look on wickedness.Why do You look on those who deal treacherously,And hold Your tongue when the wicked devoursA person more rightous than he? 1:14 Why do You make men like fish of the sea,Like creeping things that have no ruler over them? 1:15 They take up all of them with a hook,They catch them in their net,And gather them in their dragnet.Therefore they rejoice and are glad. 1:16 Therefore they sacrifice to their net,And burn incense to their dragnet;Because by them their share is sumptuousAnd their food plentiful. 1:17 Shall they therefore empty their net,And continue to slay nations without pity?
10:1 わたしはまた、もう一人の力強い天使が、雲を身にまとい、天から降って来るのを見た。頭には虹をいただき、顔は太陽のようで、足は火の柱のようであり、 10:2 手には開いた小さな巻物を持っていた。そして、右足で海を、左足で地を踏まえて、 10:3 獅子がほえるような大声で叫んだ。天使が叫んだとき、七つの雷がそれぞれの声で語った。 10:4 七つの雷が語ったとき、わたしは書き留めようとした。すると、天から声があって、「七つの雷が語ったことは秘めておけ。それを書き留めてはいけない」と言うのが聞こえた。 10:5 すると、海と地の上に立つのをわたしが見たあの天使が、／右手を天に上げ、 10:6 世々限りなく生きておられる方にかけて誓った。すなわち、天とその中にあるもの、地とその中にあるもの、海とその中にあるものを創造された方にかけてこう誓った。「もはや時がない。 10:7 第七の天使がラッパを吹くとき、神の秘められた計画が成就する。それは、神が御自分の僕である預言者たちに良い知らせとして告げられたとおりである。」
10:1 I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. 10:2 He had a little book open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, 10:3 and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices. 10:4 Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them." 10:5 The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven 10:6 and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer, 10:7 but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.
