42:1 Then Job answered the Lord and said: 42:2 "I know that You can do everything,And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You. 42:3 You asked, 'Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?'Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand,Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. 42:4 Listen, please, and let me speak;You said, 'I will question you, and you shall answer Me.' 42:5 "I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear,But now my eye sees You. 42:6 Therefore I abhor myself,And repent in dust and ashes." 42:7 And so it was, after the Lord had spoken these words to Job, that the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "My wrath is aroused against you and your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has. 42:8 "Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, go to My servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and My servant Job shall pray for you. For I will accept him, lest I deal with you according to your folly; because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has." 42:9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the Lord commanded them; for the Lord had accepted Job. 42:10 And the Lord restored Job's losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. 42:11 Then all his brothers, all his sisters, and all those who had been his acquaintances before, came to him and ate food with him in his house; and they consoled him and comforted him for all the adversity that the Lord had brought upon him. Each one gave him a piece of silver and each a ring of gold. 42:12 Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys. 42:13 He also had seven sons and three daughters. 42:14 And he called the name of the first Jemimah, the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-Happuch. 42:15 In all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers. 42:16 After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations. 42:17 So Job died, old and full of days.

5:12 このようなわけで、一人の人によって罪が世に入り、罪によって死が入り込んだように、死はすべての人に及んだのです。すべての人が罪を犯したからです。 5:13 律法が与えられる前にも罪は世にあったが、律法がなければ、罪は罪と認められないわけです。 5:14 しかし、アダムからモーセまでの間にも、アダムの違犯と同じような罪を犯さなかった人の上にさえ、死は支配しました。実にアダムは、来るべき方を前もって表す者だったのです。 5:15 しかし、恵みの賜物は罪とは比較になりません。一人の罪によって多くの人が死ぬことになったとすれば、なおさら、神の恵みと一人の人イエス・キリストの恵みの賜物とは、多くの人に豊かに注がれるのです。 5:16 この賜物は、罪を犯した一人によってもたらされたようなものではありません。裁きの場合は、一つの罪でも有罪の判決が下されますが、恵みが働くときには、いかに多くの罪があっても、無罪の判決が下されるからです。 5:17 一人の罪によって、その一人を通して死が支配するようになったとすれば、なおさら、神の恵みと義の賜物とを豊かに受けている人は、一人のイエス・キリストを通して生き、支配するようになるのです。 5:18 そこで、一人の罪によってすべての人に有罪の判決が下されたように、一人の正しい行為によって、すべての人が義とされて命を得ることになったのです。 5:19 一人の人の不従順によって多くの人が罪人とされたように、一人の従順によって多くの人が正しい者とされるのです。 5:20 律法が入り込んで来たのは、罪が増し加わるためでありました。しかし、罪が増したところには、恵みはなおいっそう満ちあふれました。 5:21 こうして、罪が死によって支配していたように、恵みも義によって支配しつつ、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストを通して永遠の命に導くのです。
5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned- 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. 5:15 But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. 5:16 And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. 5:17 For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) 5:18 Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous. 5:20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 5:21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
