11:1 偽りの天秤を主はいとい／十全なおもり石を喜ばれる。 11:2 高慢には軽蔑が伴い／謙遜には知恵が伴う。 11:3 正しい人は自分の無垢に導かれ／裏切り者は自分の暴力に滅ぼされる。 11:4 怒りの日には、富は頼りにならない。慈善は死から救う。 11:5 無垢な人の慈善は、彼の道をまっすぐにする。神に逆らう者は、逆らいの罪によって倒される。 11:6 正しい人は慈善によって自分を救い／裏切り者は自分の欲望の罠にかかる。 11:7 神に逆らう者は力に望みをかけ、期待しても／死ねばそれも失われる。 11:8 神に従う人は苦難に陥っても助け出され／神に逆らう者が代わってそこに落とされる。 11:9 神を無視する者は口先で友人を破滅に落とす。神に従う人は知識によって助け出される。 11:10 神に従う人が幸いを得れば町は喜び／神に逆らう者が滅びれば歓声をあげる。 11:11 正しい人の祝福によって町は興り／神に逆らう者の口によって町は滅びる。 11:12 心ない者は友人を侮る。英知ある人は沈黙を守る。 11:13 悪口を言い歩く者は秘密をもらす。誠実な人は事を秘めておく。 11:14 指導しなければ民は滅びるが／参議が多ければ救われる。 11:15 他国の者の保証人となれば災難がふりかかる。手を打って誓うことを嫌えば安全だ。 11:16 美しい女は名誉をわがものとし／強い男は富をわがものとする。 11:17 慈しみ深い人は自分の魂を益し／残酷な者は自分の身に煩いを得る。 11:18 神に逆らう者の得る収入は欺き。慈善を蒔く人の収穫は真実。 11:19 慈善は命への確かな道。悪を追求する者は死に至る。 11:20 心の曲がった者を主はいとい／完全な道を歩む人を喜ばれる。 11:21 悪人は何代経ようとも罰を逃れえず／神に従う人の子孫は免れる。 11:22 豚が鼻に金の輪を飾っている。美しい女に知性が欠けている。 11:23 神に従う人の望みは常に良い。神に逆らう者の期待は怒りに終る。 11:24 散らしてなお、加えられる人もあり／締めすぎて欠乏する者もある。 11:25 気前のよい人は自分も太り／他を潤す人は自分も潤う。 11:26 穀物を売り惜しむ者は民の呪いを買い／供する人の頭上には祝福が与えられる。 11:27 善を捜し求める人は好意を尋ね求める人。悪を求める者には悪が訪れる。 11:28 富に依存する者は倒れる。神に従う人は木の葉のように茂る。 11:29 家に煩いをもたらす者は風を嗣業とする者。愚か者は知恵ある人の奴隷となる。 11:30 神に従う人の結ぶ実は命の木となる。知恵ある人は多くの魂をとらえる。 11:31 神に従う人がこの地上で報われるというなら／神に逆らう者、罪を犯す者が／報いを受けるのは当然だ。
11:1 Dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord,But a just weight is His delight. 11:2 When pride comes, then comes shame;But with the humble is wisdom. 11:3 The integrity of the upright will guide them,But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them. 11:4 Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,But righteousness delivers from death. 11:5 The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way aright,But the wicked will fall by his own wickedness. 11:6 The righteousness of the upright will deliver them,But the unfaithful will be caught by their lust. 11:7 When a wicked man dies, his expectation will perish,And the hope of the unjust perishes. 11:8 The righteous is delivered from trouble,And it comes to the wicked instead. 11:9 The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor,But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered. 11:10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices;And when the wicked perish, there is jubilation. 11:11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted,But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. 11:12 He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor,But a man of understanding holds his peace. 11:13 A talebearer reveals secrets,But he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter. 11:14 Where there is no counsel, the people fall;But in the multitude of counselors there is safety. 11:15 He who is surety for a stranger will suffer,But one who hates being surety is secure. 11:16 A gracious woman retains honor,But ruthless men retain riches. 11:17 The merciful man does good for his own soul,But he who is cruel troubles his own flesh. 11:18 The wicked man does deceptive work,But he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward. 11:19 As righteousness leads to life,So he who pursues evil pursues it to his own death. 11:20 Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the Lord,But the blameless in their ways are His delight. 11:21 Though they join forces, the wicked will not go unpunished;But the posterity of the righteous will be delivered. 11:22 As a ring of gold in a swine's snout,So is a lovely woman who lacks discretion. 11:23 The desire of the righteous is only good,But the expectation of the wicked is wrath. 11:24 There is one who scatters, yet increases more;And there is one who withholds more than is right,But it leads to poverty. 11:25 The generous soul will be made rich,And he who waters will also be watered himself. 11:26 The people will curse him who withholds grain,But blessing will be on the head of him who sells it. 11:27 He who earnestly seeks good finds favor,But trouble will come to him who seeks evil. 11:28 He who trusts in his riches will fall,But the righteous will flourish like foliage. 11:29 He who troubles his own house will inherit the wind,And the fool will be servant to the wise of heart. 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,And he who wins souls is wise. 11:31 If the righteous will be recompensed on the earth,How much more the ungodly and the sinner.
10:14 ところで、信じたことのない方を、どうして呼び求められよう。聞いたことのない方を、どうして信じられよう。また、宣べ伝える人がなければ、どうして聞くことができよう。 10:15 遣わされないで、どうして宣べ伝えることができよう。「良い知らせを伝える者の足は、なんと美しいことか」と書いてあるとおりです。 10:16 しかし、すべての人が福音に従ったのではありません。イザヤは、「主よ、だれがわたしたちから聞いたことを信じましたか」と言っています。 10:17 実に、信仰は聞くことにより、しかも、キリストの言葉を聞くことによって始まるのです。 10:18 それでは、尋ねよう。彼らは聞いたことがなかったのだろうか。もちろん聞いたのです。「その声は全地に響き渡り、／その言葉は世界の果てにまで及ぶ」のです。 10:19 それでは、尋ねよう。イスラエルは分からなかったのだろうか。このことについては、まずモーセが、／「わたしは、わたしの民でない者のことで／あなたがたにねたみを起こさせ、／愚かな民のことであなたがたを怒らせよう」と言っています。 10:20 イザヤも大胆に、／「わたしは、／わたしを探さなかった者たちに見いだされ、／わたしを尋ねなかった者たちに自分を現した」と言っています。 10:21 しかし、イスラエルについては、「わたしは、不従順で反抗する民に、一日中手を差し伸べた」と言っています。
10:14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 10:15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,Who bring glad tidings of good things!" 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?" 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 10:18 But I say, have they not heard? Yes indeed:"Their sound has gone out to all the earth,And their words to the ends of the world." 10:19 But I say, did Israel not know? First Moses says:"I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation,I will move you to anger by a foolish nation." 10:20 But Isaiah is very bold and says:"I was found by those who did not seek Me;I was made manifest to those who did not ask for Me." 10:21 But to Israel he says:"All day long I have stretched out My handsTo a disobedient and contrary people."
