16:1 人間は心構えをする。主が舌に答えるべきことを与えてくださる。 16:2 人間の道は自分の目に清く見えるが／主はその精神を調べられる。 16:3 あなたの業を主にゆだねれば／計らうことは固く立つ。 16:4 主は御旨にそってすべての事をされる。逆らう者をも災いの日のために造られる。 16:5 すべて高慢な心を主はいとわれる。子孫は罪なしとされることはない。 16:6 慈しみとまことは罪を贖う。主を畏れれば悪を避けることができる。 16:7 主に喜ばれる道を歩む人を／主は敵と和解させてくださる。 16:8 稼ぎが多くても正義に反するよりは／僅かなもので恵みの業をする方が幸い。 16:9 人間の心は自分の道を計画する。主が一歩一歩を備えてくださる。 16:10 王の唇には魔力がある。彼の口が裁きにおいて誤ることはない。 16:11 公正な天秤、公正な秤は主のもの。袋のおもり石も主の造られたもの。 16:12 神に逆らうことを王はいとわなければならない。神に従えば王座は堅く立つ。 16:13 正しいことを語る唇を王は喜び迎え／正直に語る人を愛する。 16:14 王の怒りは死の使い。それをなだめるのは知恵ある人。 16:15 王の顔の輝きは命を与える。彼の好意は春の雨をもたらす雲。 16:16 知恵を得ることは金にまさり／分別を得ることは銀よりも望ましい。 16:17 正しい人の道は悪を避けて通っている。魂を守る者はその道を守る。 16:18 痛手に先立つのは驕り。つまずきに先立つのは高慢な霊。 16:19 貧しい人と共に心を低くしている方が／傲慢な者と分捕り物を分け合うよりよい。 16:20 何事にも目覚めている人は恵みを得る。主に依り頼むことが彼の幸い。 16:21 心に知恵ある人は聡明な人と呼ばれる。優しく語る唇は説得力を増す。 16:22 見識ある人にはその見識が命の泉となる。無知な者には無知が諭しとなる。 16:23 知恵ある心は口の言葉を成功させ／その唇に説得力を加える。 16:24 親切な言葉は蜜の滴り。魂に甘く、骨を癒す。 16:25 人間の前途がまっすぐなようでも／果ては死への道となることがある。 16:26 労苦する者を労苦させるのは欲望だ。口が彼を駆り立てる。 16:27 ならず者は災いの炉、その唇には燃えさかる火。 16:28 暴言をはく者はいさかいを起こさせる。陰口は友情を裂く。 16:29 不法を行う者はその友を惑わして／良くない道を行かせる。 16:30 人は目を閉じて暴言を考え出し／悪を果たして口をすぼめる。 16:31 白髪は輝く冠、神に従う道に見いだされる。 16:32 忍耐は力の強さにまさる。自制の力は町を占領するにまさる。 16:33 くじは膝の上に投げるが／ふさわしい定めはすべて主から与えられる。
16:1 The preparations of the heart belong to man,But the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. 16:2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes,But the Lord weighs the spirits. 16:3 Commit your works to the Lord,And your thoughts will be established. 16:4 The Lord has made all for Himself,Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom. 16:5 Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord;Though they join forces, none will go unpunished. 16:6 In mercy and truthAtonement is provided for iniquity;And by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil. 16:7 When a man's ways please the Lord,He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. 16:8 Better is a little with righteousness,Than vast revenues without justice. 16:9 A man's heart plans his way,But the Lord directs his steps. 16:10 Divination is on the lips of the king;His mouth must not transgress in judgment. 16:11 Honest weights and scales are the Lord's;All the weights in the bag are His work. 16:12 It is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness,For a throne is established by righteousness. 16:13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings,And they love him who speaks what is right. 16:14 As messengers of death is the king's wrath,But a wise man will appease it. 16:15 In the light of the king's face is life,And his favor is like a cloud of the latter rain. 16:16 How much better to get wisdom than gold!And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. 16:17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil;He who keeps his way preserves his soul. 16:18 Pride goes before destruction,And a haughty spirit before a fall. 16:19 Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly,Than to divide the spoil with the proud. 16:20 He who heeds the word wisely will find good,And whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he. 16:21 The wise in heart will be called prudent,And sweetness of the lips increases learning. 16:22 Understanding is a wellspring of life to him who has it.But the correction of fools is folly. 16:23 The heart of the wise teaches his mouth,And adds learning to his lips. 16:24 Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones. 16:25 There is a way that seems right to a man,But its end is the way of death. 16:26 The person who labors, labors for himself,For his hungry mouth drives him on. 16:27 An ungodly man digs up evil,And it is on his lips like a burning fire. 16:28 A perverse man sows strife,And a whisperer separates the best of friends. 16:29 A violent man entices his neighbor,And leads him in a way that is not good. 16:30 He winks his eye to devise perverse things;He purses his lips and brings about evil. 16:31 The silver-haired head is a crown of glory,If it is found in the way of righteousness. 16:32 He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. 16:33 The lot is cast into the lap,But its every decision is from the Lord.
12:9 愛には偽りがあってはなりません。悪を憎み、善から離れず、 12:10 兄弟愛をもって互いに愛し、尊敬をもって互いに相手を優れた者と思いなさい。 12:11 怠らず励み、霊に燃えて、主に仕えなさい。 12:12 希望をもって喜び、苦難を耐え忍び、たゆまず祈りなさい。 12:13 聖なる者たちの貧しさを自分のものとして彼らを助け、旅人をもてなすよう努めなさい。 12:14 あなたがたを迫害する者のために祝福を祈りなさい。祝福を祈るのであって、呪ってはなりません。 12:15 喜ぶ人と共に喜び、泣く人と共に泣きなさい。 12:16 互いに思いを一つにし、高ぶらず、身分の低い人々と交わりなさい。自分を賢い者とうぬぼれてはなりません。 12:17 だれに対しても悪に悪を返さず、すべての人の前で善を行うように心がけなさい。 12:18 できれば、せめてあなたがたは、すべての人と平和に暮らしなさい。 12:19 愛する人たち、自分で復讐せず、神の怒りに任せなさい。「『復讐はわたしのすること、わたしが報復する』と主は言われる」と書いてあります。 12:20 「あなたの敵が飢えていたら食べさせ、渇いていたら飲ませよ。そうすれば、燃える炭火を彼の頭に積むことになる。」 12:21 悪に負けることなく、善をもって悪に勝ちなさい。
12:9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 12:10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 12:11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12:12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 12:13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. 12:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 12:16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. 12:17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 12:18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 12:19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. 12:20 Therefore"If your enemy is hungry, feed him;If he is thirsty, give him a drink;For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head." 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
