19:1 貧乏でも、完全な道を歩む人は／唇の曲がった愚か者よりも幸いだ。 19:2 知識がなければ欲しても不毛だ。あまり足を急がせると過ちを犯す。 19:3 人は無知によって自分の道を滅ぼす。しかも主に対して心に憤りをもつ。 19:4 財産は友の数を増す。弱者は友から引き離される。 19:5 うそをつく証人は罰を免れることはない。欺きの発言をすれば逃げおおせることはない。 19:6 高貴な人の好意を求める者は多い。贈り物をする人にはだれでも友になる。 19:7 実の兄弟も皆、貧しい人を憎む。友達ならなお、彼を遠ざかる。彼らは言っていることを実行しようとはしない。 19:8 心を得た人は自分の魂を愛する。英知を守る人は幸いを見いだす。 19:9 うそをつく証人は罰を免れることはない。欺きの発言をする者は滅びる。 19:10 愚か者に快楽はふさわしくない。奴隷が君主を支配するのは、なおふさわしくない。 19:11 成功する人は忍耐する人。背きを赦すことは人に輝きをそえる。 19:12 王の憤りは若獅子のうなり声。王の好意は青草におく露。 19:13 愚かな息子は父の破滅。いさかい好きな妻は滴り続けるしずく。 19:14 家と財産は先祖からの嗣業。賢い妻は主からいただくもの。 19:15 怠惰は人を深い眠りに落とす。怠けていれば飢える。 19:16 戒めを守る人は魂を守る。自分の道を侮る者は死ぬ。 19:17 弱者を憐れむ人は主に貸す人。その行いは必ず報いられる。 19:18 望みのあるうちに息子を諭せ。死なせることを目指してはならない。 19:19 激しく憤る者は罰を受ける。救おうとしても、あおるだけだ。 19:20 勧めに聞き従い、諭しを受け入れよ。将来、知恵を得ることのできるように。 19:21 人の心には多くの計らいがある。主の御旨のみが実現する。 19:22 欲望は人に恥をもたらす。貧しい人は欺く者より幸い。 19:23 主を畏れれば命を得る。満ち足りて眠りにつき／災難に襲われることはない。 19:24 怠け者は鉢に手を突っ込むが／口にその手を返すことすらしない。 19:25 不遜な者を打てば、浅はかな者は熟慮を得る。聡明な人を懲らしめれば、知恵を見分ける。 19:26 父に暴力を振るい、母を追い出す者は／辱めと嘲りをもたらす子。 19:27 わが子よ、諭しに聞き従うことをやめるなら／知識の言葉からたちまち迷い出るであろう。 19:28 ならず者の証人は裁きを侮辱し／神に逆らう者の口は悪を呑み込む。 19:29 不遜な者に対しては罰が準備され／愚か者の背には鞭打ちが待っている。
19:1 Better is the poor who walks in his integrityThan one who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool. 19:2 Also it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge,And he sins who hastens with his feet. 19:3 The foolishness of a man twists his way,And his heart frets against the Lord. 19:4 Wealth makes many friends,But the poor is separated from his friend. 19:5 A false witness will not go unpunished,And he who speaks lies will not escape. 19:6 Many entreat the favor of the nobility,And every man is a friend to one who gives gifts. 19:7 All the brothers of the poor hate him;How much more do his friends go far from him!He may pursue them with words, yet they abandon him. 19:8 He who gets wisdom loves his own soul;He who keeps understanding will find good. 19:9 A false witness will not go unpunished,And he who speaks lies shall perish. 19:10 Luxury is not fitting for a fool,Much less for a servant to rule over princes. 19:11 The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger,And his glory is to overlook a transgression. 19:12 The king's wrath is like the roaring of a lion,But his favor is like dew on the grass. 19:13 A foolish son is the ruin of his father,And the contentions of a wife are a continual dripping. 19:14 Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers,But a prudent wife is from the Lord. 19:15 Laziness casts one into a deep sleep,And an idle person will suffer hunger. 19:16 He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul,But he who is careless of his ways will die. 19:17 He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord,And He will pay back what he has given. 19:18 Chasten your son while there is hope,And do not set your heart on his destruction. 19:19 A man of great wrath will suffer punishment;For if you rescue him, you will have to do it again. 19:20 Listen to counsel and receive instruction,That you may be wise in your latter days. 19:21 There are many plans in a man's heart,Nevertheless the Lord's counsel-that will stand. 19:22 What is desired in a man is kindness,And a poor man is better than a liar. 19:23 The fear of the Lord leads to life,And he who has it will abide in satisfaction;He will not be visited with evil. 19:24 A lazy man buries his hand in the bowl,And will not so much as bring it to his mouth again. 19:25 Strike a scoffer, and the simple will become wary;Rebuke one who has understanding, and he will discern knowledge. 19:26 He who mistreats his father and chases away his motherIs a son who causes shame and brings reproach. 19:27 Cease listening to instruction, my son,And you will stray from the words of knowledge. 19:28 A disreputable witness scorns justice,And the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity. 19:29 Judgments are prepared for scoffers,And beatings for the backs of fools.
◆兄弟を罪に誘ってはならない
14:13 従って、もう互いに裁き合わないようにしよう。むしろ、つまずきとなるものや、妨げとなるものを、兄弟の前に置かないように決心しなさい。 14:14 それ自体で汚れたものは何もないと、わたしは主イエスによって知り、そして確信しています。汚れたものだと思うならば、それは、その人にだけ汚れたものです。 14:15 あなたの食べ物について兄弟が心を痛めるならば、あなたはもはや愛に従って歩んでいません。食べ物のことで兄弟を滅ぼしてはなりません。キリストはその兄弟のために死んでくださったのです。 14:16 ですから、あなたがたにとって善いことがそしりの種にならないようにしなさい。 14:17 神の国は、飲み食いではなく、聖霊によって与えられる義と平和と喜びなのです。 14:18 このようにしてキリストに仕える人は、神に喜ばれ、人々に信頼されます。 14:19 だから、平和や互いの向上に役立つことを追い求めようではありませんか。 14:20 食べ物のために神の働きを無にしてはなりません。すべては清いのですが、食べて人を罪に誘う者には悪い物となります。 14:21 肉も食べなければぶどう酒も飲まず、そのほか兄弟を罪に誘うようなことをしないのが望ましい。 14:22 あなたは自分が抱いている確信を、神の御前で心の内に持っていなさい。自分の決心にやましさを感じない人は幸いです。 14:23 疑いながら食べる人は、確信に基づいて行動していないので、罪に定められます。確信に基づいていないことは、すべて罪なのです。
14:13 Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother's way. 14:14 I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 14:15 Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died. 14:16 Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 14:18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. 14:19 Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another. 14:20 Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are pure, but it is evil for the man who eats with offense. 14:21 It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak. 14:22 Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. 14:23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.
