10:1 災いだ、偽りの判決を下す者／労苦を負わせる宣告文を記す者は。 10:2 彼らは弱い者の訴えを退け／わたしの民の貧しい者から権利を奪い／やもめを餌食とし、みなしごを略奪する。 10:3 刑罰の日に向かって／襲って来る嵐に対して／お前たちはどうするつもりか。誰に助けを求めて逃れるつもりか。どこにお前たちは栄光を託そうとするのか。 10:4 捕らわれ人としてかがみ／殺された者となって倒れるだけではないか。しかしなお、主の怒りはやまず／御手は伸ばされたままだ。
10:5 災いだ、わたしの怒りの鞭となるアッシリアは。彼はわたしの手にある憤りの杖だ。 10:6 神を無視する国に向かって／わたしはそれを遣わし／わたしの激怒をかった民に対して、それに命じる。「戦利品を取り、略奪品を取れ／野の土のように彼を踏みにじれ」と。 10:7 しかし、彼はそのように策を立てず／その心はそのように計らおうとしなかった。その心にあるのはむしろ滅ぼし尽くすこと／多くの国を断ち尽くすこと。 10:8 彼は言う。「王たちは、すべて、わたしの役人ではないか。 10:9 カルノはカルケミシュと同じではないか／ハマトは必ずアルパドのようになり／サマリアは必ずダマスコのようになる。 10:10 偶像を持つ国々／エルサレムにも／サマリアにもまさる像を持つ国々を／既に手中に納めたように 10:11 そして、サマリアとその偶像にしたように／わたしは必ずエルサレムと／その彫像に対して行う。」 10:12 主はシオンの山とエルサレムに対する御業をすべて成就されるとき、アッシリアの王の驕った心の結ぶ実、高ぶる目の輝きを罰せられる。 10:13 なぜならアッシリアの王は言った。「自分の手の力によってわたしは行った。聡明なわたしは自分の知恵によって行った。わたしは諸民族の境を取り払い／彼らの蓄えた物を略奪し／力ある者と共に住民たちを引きずり落とした。 10:14 わたしの手は、鳥の巣を奪うように／諸民族の富に伸びた。置き去られた卵をかき集めるように／わたしは全世界をかき集めた。そのとき、翼を動かす者はなく／くちばしを開いて鳴く者もなかった。」 10:15 斧がそれを振るう者に対して自分を誇り／のこぎりがそれを使う者に向かって／高ぶることができるだろうか。それは、鞭が自分を振り上げる者を動かし／杖が木でない者を持ち上げようとするに等しい。 10:16 それゆえ、万軍の主なる神は／太った者の中に衰弱を送り／主の栄光の下に炎を燃え上がらせ／火のように燃えさせられる。 10:17 イスラエルの光である方は火となり／聖なる方は炎となって／一日のうちに茨とおどろを焼き尽くされる。 10:18 森も牧場も魂から肉まで焼き尽くされ／くずおれて、倒れる。 10:19 森に残る木は数少なく／幼子でもそれを書き留めうる。
10:20 その日には、イスラエルの残りの者とヤコブの家の逃れた者とは、再び自分たちを撃った敵に頼ることなく、イスラエルの聖なる方、主に真実をもって頼る。 10:21 残りの者が帰って来る。ヤコブの残りの者が、力ある神に。 10:22 あなたの民イスラエルが海の砂のようであっても、そのうちの残りの者だけが帰って来る。滅びは定められ、正義がみなぎる。 10:23 万軍の主なる神が、定められた滅びを全世界のただ中で行われるからだ。
10:24 それゆえ、万軍の主なる神はこう言われる。「シオンに住むわが民よ、アッシリアを恐れるな。たとえ、エジプトがしたように／彼らがあなたを鞭で打ち、杖を振り上げても。 10:25 やがて、わたしの憤りの尽きるときが来る。わたしの怒りは彼らの滅びに向けられる。 10:26 万軍の主は、彼らに対して鞭を振るわれる／かつて、オレブの岩で／ミディアン人を打たれたように。またエジプトでなされたように／杖を海の上に伸ばされる。 10:27 その日が来れば／あなたの肩から重荷は取り去られ／首に置かれた軛は砕かれる。」

10:1 "Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees,Who write misfortune,Which they have prescribed 10:2 To rob the needy of justice,And to take what is right from the poor of My people,That widows may be their prey,And that they may rob the fatherless. 10:3 What will you do in the day of punishment,And in the desolation which will come from afar?To whom will you flee for help?And where will you leave your glory? 10:4 Without Me they shall bow down among the prisoners,And they shall fall among the slain."For all this His anger is not turned away,But His hand is stretched out still. 10:5 "Woe to Assyria, the rod of My angerAnd the staff in whose hand is My indignation. 10:6 I will send him against an ungodly nation,And against the people of My wrathI will give him charge,To seize the spoil, to take the prey,And to tread them down like the mire of the streets. 10:7 Yet he does not mean so,Nor does his heart think so;But it is in his heart to destroy,And cut off not a few nations. 10:8 For he says,'Are not my princes altogether kings? 10:9 Is not Calno like Carchemish?Is not Hamath like Arpad?Is not Samaria like Damascus? 10:10 As my hand has found the kingdoms of the idols,Whose carved images excelled those of Jerusalem and Samaria, 10:11 As I have done to Samaria and her idols,Shall I not do also to Jerusalem and her idols?' " 10:12 Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Lord has performed all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, that He will say, "I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his haughty looks." 10:13 For he says:"By the strength of my hand I have done it,And by my wisdom, for I am prudent;Also I have removed the boundaries of the people,And have robbed their treasuries;So I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man. 10:14 My hand has found like a nest the riches of the people,And as one gathers eggs that are left,I have gathered all the earth;And there was no one who moved his wing,Nor opened his mouth with even a peep." 10:15 Shall the ax boast itself against him who chops with it?Or shall the saw exalt itself against him who saws with it?As if a rod could wield itself against those who lift it up,Or as if a staff could lift up, as if it were not wood! 10:16 Therefore the Lord, the Lord of hosts,Will send leanness among his fat ones;And under his gloryHe will kindle a burningLike the burning of a fire. 10:17 So the Light of Israel will be for a fire,And his Holy One for a flame;It will burn and devourHis thorns and his briers in one day. 10:18 And it will consume the glory of his forest and of his fruitful field,Both soul and body;And they will be as when a sick man wastes away. 10:19 Then the rest of the trees of his forestWill be so few in numberThat a child may write them. 10:20 And it shall come to pass in that dayThat the remnant of Israel,And such as have escaped of the house of Jacob,Will never again depend on him who defeated them,But will depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. 10:21 The remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob,To the Mighty God. 10:22 For though your people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea,A remnant of them will return;The destruction decreed shall overflow with righteousness. 10:23 For the Lord God of hostsWill make a determined endIn the midst of all the land. 10:24 Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: "O My people, who dwell in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrian. He shall strike you with a rod and lift up his staff against you, in the manner of Egypt. 10:25 "For yet a very little while and the indignation will cease, as will My anger in their destruction." 10:26 And the Lord of hosts will stir up a scourge for him like the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb; as His rod was on the sea, so will He lift it up in the manner of Egypt. 10:27 It shall come to pass in that dayThat his burden will be taken away from your shoulder,And his yoke from your neck,And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil. 10:28 He has come to Aiath,He has passed Migron;At Michmash he has attended to his equipment. 10:29 They have gone along the ridge,They have taken up lodging at Geba.Ramah is afraid,Gibeah of Saul has fled. 10:30 Lift up your voice,O daughter of Gallim!Cause it to be heard as far as Laish-O poor Anathoth! 10:31 Madmenah has fled,The inhabitants of Gebim seek refuge. 10:32 As yet he will remain at Nob that day;He will shake his fist at the mount of the daughter of Zion,The hill of Jerusalem. 10:33 Behold, the Lord,The Lord of hosts,Will lop off the bough with terror;Those of high stature will be hewn down,And the haughty will be humbled. 10:34 He will cut down the thickets of the forest with iron,And Lebanon will fall by the Mighty One.
3:1 わたしたちは、またもや自分を推薦し始めているのでしょうか。それとも、ある人々のように、あなたがたへの推薦状、あるいはあなたがたからの推薦状が、わたしたちに必要なのでしょうか。 3:2 わたしたちの推薦状は、あなたがた自身です。それは、わたしたちの心に書かれており、すべての人々から知られ、読まれています。 3:3 あなたがたは、キリストがわたしたちを用いてお書きになった手紙として公にされています。墨ではなく生ける神の霊によって、石の板ではなく人の心の板に、書きつけられた手紙です。 3:4 わたしたちは、キリストによってこのような確信を神の前で抱いています。 3:5 もちろん、独りで何かできるなどと思う資格が、自分にあるということではありません。わたしたちの資格は神から与えられたものです。 3:6 神はわたしたちに、新しい契約に仕える資格、文字ではなく霊に仕える資格を与えてくださいました。文字は殺しますが、霊は生かします。 3:7 ところで、石に刻まれた文字に基づいて死に仕える務めさえ栄光を帯びて、モーセの顔に輝いていたつかのまの栄光のために、イスラエルの子らが彼の顔を見つめえないほどであったとすれば、 3:8 霊に仕える務めは、なおさら、栄光を帯びているはずではありませんか。 3:9 人を罪に定める務めが栄光をまとっていたとすれば、人を義とする務めは、なおさら、栄光に満ちあふれています。 3:10 そして、かつて栄光を与えられたものも、この場合、はるかに優れた栄光のために、栄光が失われています。 3:11 なぜなら、消え去るべきものが栄光を帯びていたのなら、永続するものは、なおさら、栄光に包まれているはずだからです。
3:1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you? 3:2 You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 3:3 clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. 3:4 And we have such trust through Christ toward God. 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, 3:6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 3:7 But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, 3:8 how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? 3:9 For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. 3:10 For even what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels. 3:11 For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious.
