5:1 わたしたちの地上の住みかである幕屋が滅びても、神によって建物が備えられていることを、わたしたちは知っています。人の手で造られたものではない天にある永遠の住みかです。 5:2 わたしたちは、天から与えられる住みかを上に着たいと切に願って、この地上の幕屋にあって苦しみもだえています。 5:3 それを脱いでも、わたしたちは裸のままではおりません。 5:4 この幕屋に住むわたしたちは重荷を負ってうめいておりますが、それは、地上の住みかを脱ぎ捨てたいからではありません。死ぬはずのものが命に飲み込まれてしまうために、天から与えられる住みかを上に着たいからです。 5:5 わたしたちを、このようになるのにふさわしい者としてくださったのは、神です。神は、その保証として“霊”を与えてくださったのです。 5:6 それで、わたしたちはいつも心強いのですが、体を住みかとしているかぎり、主から離れていることも知っています。 5:7 目に見えるものによらず、信仰によって歩んでいるからです。 5:8 わたしたちは、心強い。そして、体を離れて、主のもとに住むことをむしろ望んでいます。 5:9 だから、体を住みかとしていても、体を離れているにしても、ひたすら主に喜ばれる者でありたい。 5:10 なぜなら、わたしたちは皆、キリストの裁きの座の前に立ち、善であれ悪であれ、めいめい体を住みかとしていたときに行ったことに応じて、報いを受けねばならないからです。
5:1 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, 5:3 if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. 5:4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. 5:5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. 5:6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 5:8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 5:9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
