2:1 主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ。 2:2 行って、エルサレムの人々に呼びかけ／耳を傾けさせよ。主はこう言われる。わたしは、あなたの若いときの真心／花嫁のときの愛／種蒔かれぬ地、荒れ野での従順を思い起こす。 2:3 イスラエルは主にささげられたもの／収穫の初穂であった。それを食べる者はみな罰せられ／災いを被った、と主は言われる。 2:4 ヤコブの家よ／イスラエルの家のすべての部族よ／主の言葉を聞け。 2:5 主はこう言われる。お前たちの先祖は／わたしにどんなおちどがあったので／遠く離れて行ったのか。彼らは空しいものの後を追い／空しいものとなってしまった。 2:6 彼らは尋ねもしなかった。「主はどこにおられるのか／わたしたちをエジプトの地から上らせ／あの荒野、荒涼とした、穴だらけの地／乾ききった、暗黒の地／だれひとりそこを通らず／人の住まない地に導かれた方は」と。 2:7 わたしは、お前たちを実り豊かな地に導き／味の良い果物を食べさせた。ところが、お前たちはわたしの土地に入ると／そこを汚し／わたしが与えた土地を忌まわしいものに変えた。 2:8 祭司たちも尋ねなかった。「主はどこにおられるのか」と。律法を教える人たちはわたしを理解せず／指導者たちはわたしに背き／預言者たちはバアルによって預言し／助けにならぬものの後を追った。 2:9 それゆえ、わたしはお前たちを／あらためて告発し／また、お前たちの子孫と争うと／主は言われる。 2:10 キティムの島々に渡って、尋ね／ケダルに人を送って、よく調べさせ／果たして、こんなことがあったかどうか確かめよ。 2:11 一体、どこの国が／神々を取り替えたことがあろうか／しかも、神でないものと。ところが、わが民はおのが栄光を／助けにならぬものと取り替えた。 2:12 天よ、驚け、このことを／大いに、震えおののけ、と主は言われる。 2:13 まことに、わが民は二つの悪を行った。生ける水の源であるわたしを捨てて／無用の水溜めを掘った。水をためることのできない／こわれた水溜めを。 2:14 イスラエルは奴隷なのか／家に生まれた僕であろうか。それなのに、どうして捕らわれの身になったのか。 2:15 若獅子が彼に向かってほえ／うなり声をあげた。彼の地は荒れ地とされ／町々は焼き払われて／住む人もなくなった。 2:16 メンフィスとタフパンヘスの人々も／あなたの頭をそり上げる。 2:17 あなたの神なる主が、旅路を導かれたとき／あなたが主を捨てたので／このことがあなたの身に及んだのではないか。 2:18 それなのに、今あなたはエジプトへ行って／ナイルの水を飲もうとする。それは、一体どうしてか。また、アッシリアへ行って／ユーフラテスの水を飲もうとする。それは、一体どうしてか。 2:19 あなたの犯した悪が、あなたを懲らしめ／あなたの背信が、あなたを責めている。あなたが、わたしを畏れず／あなたの神である主を捨てたことが／いかに悪く、苦いことであるかを／味わい知るがよいと／万軍の主なる神は言われる。 2:20 あなたは久しい昔に軛を折り／手綱を振り切って／「わたしは仕えることはしない」と言った。あなたは高い丘の上／緑の木の下と見ればどこにでも／身を横たえて遊女となる。 2:21 わたしはあなたを、甘いぶどうを実らせる／確かな種として植えたのに／どうして、わたしに背いて／悪い野ぶどうに変わり果てたのか。 2:22 たとえ灰汁で体を洗い／多くの石灰を使っても／わたしの目には／罪があなたに染みついていると／主なる神は言われる。 2:23 どうして、お前は言い張るのか／わたしは汚れていない／バアルの後を追ったことはない、と。見よ、谷でのお前のふるまいを／思ってみよ、何をしたのか。お前は、素早い雌のらくだのように／道をさまよい歩く。 2:24 また、荒れ野に慣れた雌ろばのように／息遣いも荒く、欲情にあえいでいる。誰がその情欲を制しえよう。彼女に会いたければ、だれも苦労はしない。その月になれば、見つけ出せる。 2:25 素足になることを避け／喉が渇かぬようにせよ、と言われても／お前は答えて言う。「いいえ、止めても無駄です。わたしは異国の男を慕い／その後を追います」と。 2:26 盗人が捕らえられて辱めを受けるように／イスラエルの家も辱めを受ける／その王、高官、祭司、預言者らも共に。 2:27 彼らは木に向かって、「わたしの父」と言い／石に向かって、「わたしを産んだ母」と言う。わたしに顔を向けず、かえって背を向け／しかも、災難に遭えば／「立ち上がって／わたしたちをお救いください」と言う。 2:28 お前が造った神々はどこにいるのか。彼らが立ち上がればよいのだ／災難に遭ったお前を救いうるのならば。ユダよ、お前の神々は／町の数ほどあるではないか。 2:29 なぜ、わたしと争い／わたしに背き続けるのか、と主は言われる。 2:30 わたしはお前たちの子らを打ったが／無駄であった。彼らは懲らしめを受け入れなかった。獅子が滅ぼし尽くすように／お前たちは預言者を剣の餌食とした。 2:31 この世代の者よ、見よ、これは主の言葉だ。わたしはイスラエルにとって荒れ野なのか。深い闇の地なのか。どうして、わたしの民は言うのか。「迷い出てしまったからには／あなたのもとには帰りません」と。 2:32 おとめがその身を飾るものを／花嫁が晴れ着の帯を忘れるだろうか。しかし、わたしの民はわたしを忘れ／数えきれない月日が過ぎた。 2:33 なんと巧みにお前は情事を求めることか。悪い女たちにさえ、その道を教えるほどだ。 2:34 お前の着物の裾には／罪のない貧しい者を殺した血が染みついている。それは、盗みに押し入ったときに／付いたものではない。それにもかかわらず 2:35 「わたしには罪がない」とか／「主の怒りはわたしから去った」とお前は言う。だが、見よ。「わたしは罪を犯していない」と言うなら／お前は裁きの座に引き出される。 2:36 なんと軽率にお前は道を変えるのか。アッシリアによって辱められたように／エジプトにも辱められるであろう。 2:37 そこからも、お前は両手を頭に置いて出て来る。主はお前が頼りにしているものを退けられる。彼らに頼ろうとしても成功するはずがない。
2:1 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2:2 "Go and cry in the hearing of Jerusalem, saying, 'Thus says the Lord:"I remember you,The kindness of your youth,The love of your betrothal,When you went after Me in the wilderness,In a land not sown. 2:3 Israel was holiness to the Lord,The firstfruits of His increase.All that devour him will offend;Disaster will come upon them," says the Lord.' " 2:4 Hear the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob and all the families of the house of Israel. 2:5 Thus says the Lord:"What injustice have your fathers found in Me,That they have gone far from Me,Have followed idols,And have become idolaters? 2:6 Neither did they say, 'Where is the Lord,Who brought us up out of the land of Egypt,Who led us through the wilderness,Through a land of deserts and pits,Through a land of drought and the shadow of death,Through a land that no one crossedAnd where no one dwelt?' 2:7 I brought you into a bountiful country,To eat its fruit and its goodness.But when you entered, you defiled My landAnd made My heritage an abomination. 2:8 The priests did not say, 'Where is the Lord?'And those who handle the law did not know Me;The rulers also transgressed against Me;The prophets prophesied by Baal,And walked after things that do not profit. 2:9 "Therefore I will yet bring charges against you," says the Lord,"And against your children's children I will bring charges. 2:10 For pass beyond the coasts of Cyprus and see,Send to Kedar and consider diligently,And see if there has been such a thing. 2:11 Has a nation changed its gods,Which are not gods?But My people have changed their GloryFor what does not profit. 2:12 Be astonished, O heavens, at this,And be horribly afraid;Be very desolate," says the Lord. 2:13 "For My people have committed two evils:They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters,And hewn themselves cisterns-broken cisterns that can hold no water. 2:14 "Is Israel a servant?Is he a homeborn slave?Why is he plundered? 2:15 The young lions roared at him, and growled;They made his land waste;His cities are burned, without inhabitant. 2:16 Also the people of Noph and TahpanhesHave broken the crown of your head. 2:17 Have you not brought this on yourself,In that you have forsaken the Lord your GodWhen He led you in the way? 2:18 And now why take the road to Egypt,To drink the waters of Sihor?Or why take the road to Assyria,To drink the waters of the River? 2:19 Your own wickedness will correct you,And your backslidings will rebuke you.Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thingThat you have forsaken the Lord your God,And the fear of Me is not in you,"Says the Lord God of hosts. 2:20 "For of old I have broken your yoke and burst your bonds;And you said, 'I will not transgress,'When on every high hill and under every green treeYou lay down, playing the harlot. 2:21 Yet I had planted you a noble vine, a seed of highest quality.How then have you turned before MeInto the degenerate plant of an alien vine? 2:22 For though you wash yourself with lye, and use much soap,Yet your iniquity is marked before Me," says the Lord God. 2:23 "How can you say, 'I am not polluted,I have not gone after the Baals'?See your way in the valley;Know what you have done:You are a swift dromedary breaking loose in her ways, 2:24 A wild donkey used to the wilderness,That sniffs at the wind in her desire;In her time of mating, who can turn her away?All those who seek her will not weary themselves;In her month they will find her. 2:25 Withhold your foot from being unshod, and your throat from thirst.But you said, 'There is no hope.No! For I have loved aliens, and after them I will go.' 2:26 "As the thief is ashamed when he is found out,So is the house of Israel ashamed;They and their kings and their princes, and their priests and their prophets, 2:27 Saying to a tree, 'You are my father,'And to a stone, 'You gave birth to me.'For they have turned their back to Me, and not their face.But in the time of their troubleThey will say, 'Arise and save us.' 2:28 But where are your gods that you have made for yourselves?Let them arise,If they can save you in the time of your trouble;For according to the number of your citiesAre your gods, O Judah. 2:29 "Why will you plead with Me?You all have transgressed against Me," says the Lord. 2:30 "In vain I have chastened your children;They received no correction.Your sword has devoured your prophetsLike a destroying lion. 2:31 "O generation, see the word of the Lord!Have I been a wilderness to Israel,Or a land of darkness?Why do My people say, 'We are lords;We will come no more to You'? 2:32 Can a virgin forget her ornaments,Or a bride her attire?Yet My people have forgotten Me days without number. 2:33 "Why do you beautify your way to seek love?Therefore you have also taughtThe wicked women your ways. 2:34 Also on your skirts is foundThe blood of the lives of the poor innocents.I have not found it by secret search,But plainly on all these things. 2:35 Yet you say, 'Because I am innocent,Surely His anger shall turn from me.'Behold, I will plead My case against you,Because you say, 'I have not sinned.' 2:36 Why do you gad about so much to change your way?Also you shall be ashamed of Egypt as you were ashamed of Assyria. 2:37 Indeed you will go forth from himWith your hands on your head;For the Lord has rejected your trusted allies,And you will not prosper by them.

1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, 1:2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 1:3 We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 1:4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints; 1:5 because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel, 1:6 which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth; 1:7 as you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf, 1:8 who also declared to us your love in the Spirit. 1:9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 1:10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 1:11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 1:12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 1:14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
