51:1 主はこう言われる。「わたしはバビロンに対し／レブ・カマイ（カルデア）の住民に向かって／滅びの風を巻き起こす。 51:2 わたしはバビロンに外敵を送る。彼らはバビロンをふるいにかけ／その国土を裸にする。災いの日に、彼らは四方からバビロンに迫る。」 51:3 弓を射る者に弓を張らせ／鎧を着けて身構えさせよ。バビロンの若者たちを惜しんではならない。その軍をすべて滅ぼし尽くせ。 51:4 カルデア人の国には、殺された者が／路上には、刺された者が倒れる。 51:5 イスラエルとユダは／その神、万軍の主に見捨てられてはいない。カルデア人の国には罪が満ちている／イスラエルの聖なる方に背いた罪が。 51:6 お前たちはバビロンの中から逃げ／おのおの自分の命を救え。バビロンの悪のゆえに滅びるな。今こそ、主が復讐される時／主はバビロンに仇を返される。 51:7 バビロンは主の手にある金の杯／これが全世界を酔わせた。国々はその酒を飲み／そのゆえに、国々は狂った。 51:8 にわかに、バビロンは倒れ、砕かれた。バビロンのために嘆け。その傷に乳香を塗れ。いえるかもしれない。 51:9 我々はバビロンをいやそうとした。しかし、いやされはしなかった。バビロンを捨てて、おのおの自分の国へ帰ろう。バビロンの審判は天に達し、雲にまで届いた。 51:10 主は我々の正しさを明らかにされた。さあ、我々はシオンで／我らの神、主の御業を語り告げよう。 51:11 矢を研ぎ澄まし、盾を用意せよ。主はメディアの王たちの霊を奮い起こさせる。バビロンに対する主の定めは滅ぼすこと。これこそ主の復讐／主の神殿の復讐だ。 51:12 バビロンの城壁に向かって旗を立て／見張りを強化せよ。見張りの者を立て、伏兵を置け。主は思い定め、それを実行される／バビロンの住民に告げられたことを。 51:13 豊かな水の傍らに住み、財宝に富む者よ。お前の終わりが来た。命の糸は断たれる。 51:14 万軍の主は、御自分にかけて誓われた。「わたしは必ず、いなごの大軍のような人々で／お前を満たす。彼らはお前を攻め、叫び声をあげる。」 51:15 御力をもって大地を造り／知恵をもって世界を固く据え／英知をもって天を広げられた方。 51:16 主が御声を発せられると天の大水はどよめく。地の果てから雨雲を湧き上がらせ／稲妻を放って雨を降らせ／風を倉から送り出される。 51:17 人は皆、愚かで知識に達しえない。金細工人は皆、偶像のゆえに辱められる。鋳て造った像は欺きにすぎず／霊を持っていない。 51:18 彼らは空しく、また嘲られるもの。裁きの時が来れば滅びてしまう。 51:19 ヤコブの分である神はこのような方ではない。万物の創造者であり／ヤコブはその方の嗣業の民である。その御名は万軍の主。 51:20 お前はわたしの鎚、わたしの武器であった。お前によって、わたしは国々を砕き／お前によって、諸王国を滅ぼした。 51:21 お前によって、軍馬と騎兵を砕き／お前によって、戦車とその操縦者を砕いた。 51:22 お前によって、男も女も砕き／お前によって、老いも若きも砕き／お前によって、若者もおとめも砕いた。 51:23 お前によって、羊飼いと群れを砕き／お前によって、農夫と耕す牛を砕き／お前によって、総督と長官を砕いた。 51:24 しかし、わたしはバビロンと／カルデアの全住民に対し／お前たちの目の前で報復する。彼らがシオンで行ったあらゆる悪に対してと／主は言われる。 51:25 滅びの山よ、見よ、わたしはお前に立ち向かうと／主は言われる。全世界を滅ぼす者よ／わたしは手を伸ばしてお前を捕らえ／断崖から転がして落とし、燃え尽きた山にする。 51:26 お前の石を取って隅の石とする者はないし／土台の石とする者もない。お前はとこしえに荒れ果てたままだと／主は言われる。 51:27 大地に旗を立て、国々で角笛を吹き鳴らせ。バビロンを撃つために国々を聖別し／諸王国を呼び集めよ／アララト、ミンニ、そしてアシュケナズを。指揮官を立て、バビロンを攻めよ。群がるいなごのように軍馬を上らせよ。 51:28 バビロンを撃つために、国々を聖別せよ／メディアの諸王国を、その総督とすべての長官／また、その支配下の全土を。 51:29 大地は震え、ねじれる。主の定めがバビロンに成就し／バビロンの国を人の住まない廃虚とされるから。 51:30 バビロンの勇士たちは戦いをやめ／砦に座り込む。彼らの力はうせ、女のようになる。バビロンの家屋は焼かれ、かんぬきは砕かれる。 51:31 伝令は走って、次の伝令に伝え／使者は次の使者へ取り次ぎ／都が隅々まで占領されたことを／バビロンの王に知らせる。 51:32 渡し場は次々と奪われ／沼地の葦は火で焼き払われ／兵士たちはおびえる。 51:33 イスラエルの神、万軍の主はこう言われる。娘バビロンは、麦の打ち場のようだ。今や、彼女は踏みつけられ／間もなく、彼女を取り入れる時が来る。 51:34 バビロンの王ネブカドレツァルは／わたしに食いつき、当惑させ／竜のようにわたしを呑み込み／わたしのうまい肉で腹を満たし／わたしを空の皿のようにして洗い清めた。 51:35 「わたしと、わたしの肉親が受けた暴虐が／バビロンの上にふりかかるように」と／シオンの女たちは言い／「わたしの血の恨みが／カルデアの住民にふりかかるように」と／エルサレムは言う。 51:36 それゆえ、主はこう言われる。見よ、わたしはお前の訴えを取り上げ／お前の仇を報いる。わたしはバビロンの海を干上がらせ／泉を涸らす。 51:37 バビロンは、瓦礫の山／ジャッカルの住みかとなり／恐怖と嘲りの的となり／住む者はひとりもいなくなる。 51:38 彼らは一斉に若獅子のようにうなり／獅子の子のようにほえる。 51:39 わたしは、たけりたつ彼らに／宴を設けて酔わせる。彼らは泥酔して、よろめき／いつまでも眠り続けて目を覚まさないと／主は言われる。 51:40 わたしは、彼らを小羊のように／また雄羊や雄山羊のように／屠り場に引いて行く。 51:41 シェシャク（バビロン）は占領された。全世界の賛美の的であったものが捕らえられた。バビロンは国々の間に恐怖の的となった。 51:42 混沌の海がバビロンに襲いかかり／バビロンは高波のとどろきに覆われた。 51:43 町々は廃虚となり／乾ききった地、荒れ地となる。そこは住む者のない土地となり／人の子ひとり通らぬ所となる。 51:44 わたしはバビロンでベルを罰し／彼が呑み込んだものを口から吐き出させる。国々が川の流れのように／そこに集まることはもはやない。バビロンの城壁は倒れた。 51:45 わが民よ、その中から出よ。おのおの自分の命を救え／主の激しい怒りを逃れて。 51:46 お前たちは心挫けてはならない。この地で耳にするうわさを恐れるな。一つのうわさがこの年に来れば、別のうわさが次の年に来る。この地に不法が行われ、支配者と支配者が争うなど、と。 51:47 それゆえ、見よ、その日が来れば／わたしはバビロンの偶像を罰する。全土はうろたえ／殺された者は皆、国のただ中に倒れる。 51:48 天と地と、その中にあるすべてのものは／バビロンの滅亡を喜び歌う。滅ぼす者が北から来るからだ、と主は言われる。 51:49 バビロンもまた、必ず倒れる／イスラエルの殺された人々のゆえに。バビロンのゆえに、世界の至るところで／人々が殺されたのだから。 51:50 剣を逃れた者らよ。行け、立ち止まるな。遠くから主を思い起こし／エルサレムを心に留めよ。 51:51 我々はののしりを聞いて当惑している。恥辱が我々の顔を覆っている。外敵が主の家の聖域に押し入ったからだ。 51:52 それゆえ、見よ、その日が来ればと／主は言われる。わたしはバビロンの偶像を罰する。国の至るところで殺された者が呻く。 51:53 たとえ、バビロンが天に上っても／高いやぐらの守りを固めても／わたしのもとから滅ぼす者が来ると／主は言われる。 51:54 バビロンから叫びの声が聞こえ／カルデア人の地から大いなる破壊の音がする。 51:55 主がバビロンを滅ぼし／大音響を静められる。波のうねりが大水のようにとどろき／どよめきの音が響きわたる。 51:56 滅ぼす者がバビロンに攻めて来た。勇士たちは捕らえられ、弓は折られた。まことに主は仇を返される神／主は必ず報復される。 51:57 わたしはバビロンの高官、知者、総督、長官、勇士らを酔わせる。彼らはいつまでも眠り続けて目を覚ますことはない、とその御名を万軍の主という王が言われる。 51:58 万軍の主はこう言われる。バビロンの厚い城壁は無残に崩され／高い城門は火で焼かれる。今や、多くの民の労苦はむなしく消え／諸国民の辛苦は火中に帰し、人々は力尽きる。
51:59 ユダの王ゼデキヤの第四年に、マフセヤの孫でネリヤの子であるセラヤが、宿営の長として王と共にバビロンに行ったとき、預言者エレミヤはセラヤに次のように命じた。 51:60 エレミヤはバビロンに襲いかかるすべての災いを一巻の巻物に記した。そこに書かれた言葉はすべて、バビロンに関するものであった。 51:61 エレミヤはセラヤに言った。あなたがバビロンに到着したとき、注意してこの言葉を朗読し、 51:62 そして言いなさい。「主よ、あなた御自身がこの場所について、これを断ち滅ぼし、人も獣も住まない永久の廃虚にすると語られました」と。 51:63 この巻物の朗読を終えたとき、巻物に石を結び付け、ユーフラテス川に投げ込み、 51:64 そして言いなさい。「このように、バビロンは沈む。わたしがくだす災いのゆえに、再び立ち上がることはない。人々は力尽きる」と。ここまでがエレミヤの言葉である。
51:1 Thus says the Lord:"Behold, I will raise up against Babylon,Against those who dwell in Leb Kamai,A destroying wind. 51:2 And I will send winnowers to Babylon,Who shall winnow her and empty her land.For in the day of doomThey shall be against her all around. 51:3 Against her let the archer bend his bow,And lift himself up against her in his armor.Do not spare her young men;Utterly destroy all her army. 51:4 Thus the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans,And those thrust through in her streets. 51:5 For Israel is not forsaken, nor Judah,By his God, the Lord of hosts,Though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel." 51:6 Flee from the midst of Babylon,And every one save his life!Do not be cut off in her iniquity,For this is the time of the Lord's vengeance;He shall recompense her. 51:7 Babylon was a golden cup in the Lord's hand,That made all the earth drunk.The nations drank her wine;Therefore the nations are deranged. 51:8 Babylon has suddenly fallen and been destroyed.Wail for her!Take balm for her pain;Perhaps she may be healed. 51:9 We would have healed Babylon,But she is not healed.Forsake her, and let us go everyone to his own country;For her judgment reaches to heaven and is lifted up to the skies. 51:10 The Lord has revealed our righteousness.Come and let us declare in Zion the work of the Lord our God. 51:11 Make the arrows bright!Gather the shields!The Lord has raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes.For His plan is against Babylon to destroy it,Because it is the vengeance of the Lord,The vengeance for His temple. 51:12 Set up the standard on the walls of Babylon;Make the guard strong,Set up the watchmen,Prepare the ambushes.For the Lord has both devised and doneWhat He spoke against the inhabitants of Babylon. 51:13 O you who dwell by many waters,Abundant in treasures,Your end has come,The measure of your covetousness. 51:14 The Lord of hosts has sworn by Himself:"Surely I will fill you with men, as with locusts,And they shall lift up a shout against you." 51:15 He has made the earth by His power;He has established the world by His wisdom,And stretched out the heaven by His understanding. 51:16 When He utters His voice-There is a multitude of waters in the heavens:"He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;He makes lightnings for the rain;He brings the wind out of His treasuries." 51:17 Everyone is dull-hearted, without knowledge;Every metalsmith is put to shame by the carved image;For his molded image is falsehood,And there is no breath in them. 51:18 They are futile, a work of errors;In the time of their punishment they shall perish. 51:19 The Portion of Jacob is not like them,For He is the Maker of all things;And Israel is the tribe of His inheritance.The Lord of hosts is His name. 51:20 "You are My battle-ax and weapons of war:For with you I will break the nation in pieces;With you I will destroy kingdoms; 51:21 With you I will break in pieces the horse and its rider;With you I will break in pieces the chariot and its rider; 51:22 With you also I will break in pieces man and woman;With you I will break in pieces old and young;With you I will break in pieces the young man and the maiden; 51:23 With you also I will break in pieces the shepherd and his flock;With you I will break in pieces the farmer and his yoke of oxen;And with you I will break in pieces governors and rulers. 51:24 "And I will repay BabylonAnd all the inhabitants of ChaldeaFor all the evil they have doneIn Zion in your sight," says the Lord. 51:25 "Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain,Who destroys all the earth," says the Lord."And I will stretch out My hand against you,Roll you down from the rocks,And make you a burnt mountain. 51:26 They shall not take from you a stone for a cornerNor a stone for a foundation,But you shall be desolate forever," says the Lord. 51:27 Set up a banner in the land,Blow the trumpet among the nations!Prepare the nations against her,Call the kingdoms together against her:Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz.Appoint a general against her;Cause the horses to come up like the bristling locusts. 51:28 Prepare against her the nations,With the kings of the Medes,Its governors and all its rulers,All the land of his dominion. 51:29 And the land will tremble and sorrow;For every purpose of the Lord shall be performed against Babylon,To make the land of Babylon a desolation without inhabitant. 51:30 The mighty men of Babylon have ceased fighting,They have remained in their strongholds;Their might has failed,They became like women;They have burned her dwelling places,The bars of her gate are broken. 51:31 One runner will run to meet another,And one messenger to meet another,To show the king of Babylon that his city is taken on all sides; 51:32 The passages are blocked,The reeds they have burned with fire,And the men of war are terrified. 51:33 For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:"The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floorWhen it is time to thresh her;Yet a little whileAnd the time of her harvest will come." 51:34 "Nebuchadnezzar the king of BabylonHas devoured me, he has crushed me;He has made me an empty vessel,He has swallowed me up like a monster;He has filled his stomach with my delicacies,He has spit me out. 51:35 Let the violence done to me and my flesh be upon Babylon,"The inhabitant of Zion will say;"And my blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea!"Jerusalem will say. 51:36 Therefore thus says the Lord:"Behold, I will plead your case and take vengeance for you.I will dry up her sea and make her springs dry. 51:37 Babylon shall become a heap,A dwelling place for jackals,An astonishment and a hissing,Without an inhabitant. 51:38 They shall roar together like lions,They shall growl like lions' whelps. 51:39 In their excitement I will prepare their feasts;I will make them drunk,That they may rejoice,And sleep a perpetual sleepAnd not awake," says the Lord. 51:40 "I will bring them downLike lambs to the slaughter,Like rams with male goats. 51:41 "Oh, how Sheshach is taken!Oh, how the praise of the whole earth is seized!How Babylon has become desolate among the nations! 51:42 The sea has come up over Babylon;She is covered with the multitude of its waves. 51:43 Her cities are a desolation,A dry land and a wilderness,A land where no one dwells,Through which no son of man passes. 51:44 I will punish Bel in Babylon,And I will bring out of his mouth what he has swallowed;And the nations shall not stream to him anymore.Yes, the wall of Babylon shall fall. 51:45 "My people, go out of the midst of her!And let everyone deliver himself from the fierce anger of the Lord. 51:46 And lest your heart faint,And you fear for the rumor that will be heard in the land(A rumor will come one year,And after that, in another yearA rumor will come,And violence in the land,Ruler against ruler), 51:47 Therefore behold, the days are comingThat I will bring judgment on the carved images of Babylon;Her whole land shall be ashamed,And all her slain shall fall in her midst. 51:48 Then the heavens and the earth and all that is in themShall sing joyously over Babylon;For the plunderers shall come to her from the north," says the Lord. 51:49 As Babylon has caused the slain of Israel to fall,So at Babylon the slain of all the earth shall fall. 51:50 You who have escaped the sword,Get away! Do not stand still!Remember the Lord afar off,And let Jerusalem come to your mind. 51:51 We are ashamed because we have heard reproach.Shame has covered our faces,For strangers have come into the sanctuaries of the Lord's house. 51:52 "Therefore behold, the days are coming," says the Lord,"That I will bring judgment on her carved images,And throughout all her land the wounded shall groan. 51:53 Though Babylon were to mount up to heaven,And though she were to fortify the height of her strength,Yet from Me plunderers would come to her," says the Lord. 51:54 The sound of a cry comes from Babylon,And great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans, 51:55 Because the Lord is plundering BabylonAnd silencing her loud voice,Though her waves roar like great waters,And the noise of their voice is uttered, 51:56 Because the plunderer comes against her, against Babylon,And her mighty men are taken.Every one of their bows is broken;For the Lord is the God of recompense,He will surely repay. 51:57 "And I will make drunkHer princes and wise men,Her governors, her deputies, and her mighty men.And they shall sleep a perpetual sleepAnd not awake," says the King,Whose name is the Lord of hosts. 51:58 Thus says the Lord of hosts:"The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken,And her high gates shall be burned with fire;The people will labor in vain,And the nations, because of the fire;And they shall be weary." 51:59 The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah to Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. And Seraiah was the quartermaster. 51:60 So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that would come upon Babylon, all these words that are written against Babylon. 51:61 And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, "When you arrive in Babylon and see it, and read all these words, 51:62 "then you shall say, 'O Lord, You have spoken against this place to cut it off, so that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but it shall be desolate forever.' 51:63 "Now it shall be, when you have finished reading this book, that you shall tie a stone to it and throw it out into the Euphrates. 51:64 "Then you shall say, 'Thus Babylon shall sink and not rise from the catastrophe that I will bring upon her. And they shall be weary.' " Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.
2:1 しかし、あなたは、健全な教えに適うことを語りなさい。 2:2 年老いた男には、節制し、品位を保ち、分別があり、信仰と愛と忍耐の点で健全であるように勧めなさい。 2:3 同じように、年老いた女には、聖なる務めを果たす者にふさわしくふるまい、中傷せず、大酒のとりこにならず、善いことを教える者となるように勧めなさい。 2:4 そうすれば、彼女たちは若い女を諭して、夫を愛し、子供を愛し、 2:5 分別があり、貞潔で、家事にいそしみ、善良で、夫に従うようにさせることができます。これは、神の言葉が汚されないためです。 2:6 -7同じように、万事につけ若い男には、思慮深くふるまうように勧めなさい。あなた自身、良い行いの模範となりなさい。教えるときには、清廉で品位を保ち、 2:8 非難の余地のない健全な言葉を語りなさい。そうすれば、敵対者は、わたしたちについて何の悪口も言うことができず、恥じ入るでしょう。 2:9 奴隷には、あらゆる点で自分の主人に服従して、喜ばれるようにし、反抗したり、 2:10 盗んだりせず、常に忠実で善良であることを示すように勧めなさい。そうすれば、わたしたちの救い主である神の教えを、あらゆる点で輝かすことになります。
2:1 But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: 2:2 that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; 2:3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things- 2:4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 2:5 to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. 2:6 Likewise exhort the young men to be sober-minded, 2:7 in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, 2:8 sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you. 2:9 Exhort bondservants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well pleasing in all things, not answering back, 2:10 not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
