1:1 第三十年の四月五日のことである。わたしはケバル川の河畔に住んでいた捕囚の人々の間にいたが、そのとき天が開かれ、わたしは神の顕現に接した。 1:2 それは、ヨヤキン王が捕囚となって第五年の、その月の五日のことであった。 1:3 カルデアの地ケバル川の河畔で、主の言葉が祭司ブジの子エゼキエルに臨み、また、主の御手が彼の上に臨んだ。 1:4 わたしが見ていると、北の方から激しい風が大いなる雲を巻き起こし、火を発し、周囲に光を放ちながら吹いてくるではないか。その中、つまりその火の中には、琥珀金の輝きのようなものがあった。 1:5 またその中には、四つの生き物の姿があった。その有様はこうであった。彼らは人間のようなものであった。 1:6 それぞれが四つの顔を持ち、四つの翼を持っていた。 1:7 脚はまっすぐで、足の裏は子牛の足の裏に似ており、磨いた青銅が輝くように光を放っていた。 1:8 また、翼の下には四つの方向に人間の手があった。四つとも、それぞれの顔と翼を持っていた。 1:9 翼は互いに触れ合っていた。それらは移動するとき向きを変えず、それぞれ顔の向いている方向に進んだ。 1:10 その顔は人間の顔のようであり、四つとも右に獅子の顔、左に牛の顔、そして四つとも後ろには鷲の顔を持っていた。 1:11 顔はそのようになっていた。翼は上に向かって広げられ、二つは互いに触れ合い、ほかの二つは体を覆っていた。 1:12 それらはそれぞれの顔の向いている方向に進み、霊の行かせる所へ進んで、移動するときに向きを変えることはなかった。 1:13 生き物の姿、彼らの有様は燃える炭火の輝くようであり、松明の輝くように生き物の間を行き巡っていた。火は光り輝き、火から稲妻が出ていた。 1:14 そして生き物もまた、稲妻の光るように出たり戻ったりしていた。 1:15 わたしが生き物を見ていると、四つの顔を持つ生き物の傍らの地に一つの車輪が見えた。 1:16 それらの車輪の有様と構造は、緑柱石のように輝いていて、四つとも同じような姿をしていた。その有様と構造は車輪の中にもう一つの車輪があるかのようであった。 1:17 それらが移動するとき、四つの方向のどちらにも進むことができ、移動するとき向きを変えることはなかった。 1:18 車輪の外枠は高く、恐ろしかった。車輪の外枠には、四つとも周囲一面に目がつけられていた。 1:19 生き物が移動するとき、傍らの車輪も進み、生き物が地上から引き上げられるとき、車輪も引き上げられた。 1:20 それらは霊が行かせる方向に、霊が行かせる所にはどこにでも進み、車輪もまた、共に引き上げられた。生き物の霊が、車輪の中にあったからである。 1:21 生き物が進むときには車輪も進み、生き物が止まるときには車輪も止まった。また、生き物が地上から引き上げられるとき、車輪も共に引き上げられた。生き物の霊が、車輪の中にあったからである。 1:22 生き物の頭上には、恐れを呼び起こす、水晶のように輝く大空のようなものがあった。それは生き物の頭上に高く広がっていた。 1:23 大空の下では、生き物の一対の翼がまっすぐに伸びて互いに触れ合い、他の一対の翼が体を覆っていた。すなわち、それぞれの一対の翼が彼らの体を覆っていた。 1:24 それらが移動するとき、翼の羽ばたく音をわたしは聞いたが、それは大水の音のように、全能なる神の御声のように聞こえ、また、陣営のどよめきのようにも聞こえた。それらが止まっているとき、翼は垂れていた。 1:25 生き物の頭上にある大空から音が響いた。それらが止まっているとき、翼は垂れていた。 1:26 生き物の頭上にある大空の上に、サファイアのように見える王座の形をしたものがあり、王座のようなものの上には高く人間のように見える姿をしたものがあった。 1:27 腰のように見えるところから上は、琥珀金が輝いているようにわたしには見えた。それは周りに燃えひろがる火のように見えた。腰のように見えるところから下は、火のように見え、周囲に光を放っていた。 1:28 周囲に光を放つ様は、雨の日の雲に現れる虹のように見えた。これが主の栄光の姿の有様であった。わたしはこれを見てひれ伏した。そのとき、語りかける者があって、わたしはその声を聞いた。
1:1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the River Chebar, that the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God. 1:2 On the fifth day of the month, which was in the fifth year of King Jehoiachin's captivity, 1:3 the word of the Lord came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the River Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was upon him there. 1:4 Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire. 1:5 Also from within it came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man. 1:6 Each one had four faces, and each one had four wings. 1:7 Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the soles of calves' feet. They sparkled like the color of burnished bronze. 1:8 The hands of a man were under their wings on their four sides; and each of the four had faces and wings. 1:9 Their wings touched one another. The creatures did not turn when they went, but each one went straight forward. 1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man; each of the four had the face of a lion on the right side, each of the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and each of the four had the face of an eagle. 1:11 Thus were their faces. Their wings stretched upward; two wings of each one touched one another, and two covered their bodies. 1:12 And each one went straight forward; they went wherever the spirit wanted to go, and they did not turn when they went. 1:13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches going back and forth among the living creatures. The fire was bright, and out of the fire went lightning. 1:14 And the living creatures ran back and forth, in appearance like a flash of lightning. 1:15 Now as I looked at the living creatures, behold, a wheel was on the earth beside each living creature with its four faces. 1:16 The appearance of the wheels and their workings was like the color of beryl, and all four had the same likeness. The appearance of their workings was, as it were, a wheel in the middle of a wheel. 1:17 When they moved, they went toward any one of four directions; they did not turn aside when they went. 1:18 As for their rims, they were so high they were awesome; and their rims were full of eyes, all around the four of them. 1:19 When the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. 1:20 Wherever the spirit wanted to go, they went, because there the spirit went; and the wheels were lifted together with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. 1:21 When those went, these went; when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up together with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. 1:22 The likeness of the firmament above the heads of the living creatures was like the color of an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads. 1:23 And under the firmament their wings spread out straight, one toward another. Each one had two which covered one side, and each one had two which covered the other side of the body. 1:24 When they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of many waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a tumult like the noise of an army; and when they stood still, they let down their wings. 1:25 A voice came from above the firmament that was over their heads; whenever they stood, they let down their wings. 1:26 And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it. 1:27 Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around. 1:28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. So when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking.
1:1 神は、かつて預言者たちによって、多くのかたちで、また多くのしかたで先祖に語られたが、 1:2 この終わりの時代には、御子によってわたしたちに語られました。神は、この御子を万物の相続者と定め、また、御子によって世界を創造されました。 1:3 御子は、神の栄光の反映であり、神の本質の完全な現れであって、万物を御自分の力ある言葉によって支えておられますが、人々の罪を清められた後、天の高い所におられる大いなる方の右の座にお着きになりました。 1:4 御子は、天使たちより優れた者となられました。天使たちの名より優れた名を受け継がれたからです。
[ 1 ] 1:1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 1:2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 1:3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 1:4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
