20:1 第七年の五月のことであった。その月の十日に、イスラエルの長老たち数人が、主の御心を問うために来て、わたしの前に座った。 20:2 そのとき、主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ。 20:3 「人の子よ、イスラエルの長老たちに語り、彼らに言いなさい。主なる神はこう言われる。お前たちはわたしの意志を問うために来たのか。わたしは生きている。お前たちが尋ねても、わたしは答えない、と主なる神は言われる。 20:4 あなたは彼らを裁くのか。人の子よ。彼らを裁くのなら、彼らの先祖たちの行った忌まわしいことを彼らに告げなさい。 20:5 彼らに言いなさい、と主なる神はこう言われる。わたしがイスラエルを選んだ日に、わたしはヤコブの家の子孫に誓い、エジプトの地で彼らにわたしを知らせたとき、彼らに誓って、わたしはお前たちの神、主であると言った。 20:6 その日、わたしは彼らに誓い、わたしは彼らをエジプトの地から連れ出して、彼らのために探し求めた土地、乳と蜜の流れる地、すべての国々の中で最も美しい土地に導く、と言った。 20:7 わたしはまた、彼らに言った。『おのおの、目の前にある憎むべきものを投げ捨てよ。エジプトの偶像によって自分を汚してはならない。わたしはお前たちの神、主である』と。 20:8 しかし、彼らはわたしに逆らい、わたしに聞き従おうとはしなかった。おのおの、目の前の憎むべきものを投げ捨てず、エジプトの偶像を捨てようとはしなかった。そこで、わたしは言った。『わたしは憤りを彼らの上に注ぎ、エジプトの地でわたしの怒りを浴びせる』と。 20:9 しかし、わたしはわが名のために、彼らがその中に住んでいる諸国民の目の前では、わが名を汚すことがないようにした。その諸国民の目の前で、わたしはイスラエルをエジプトの地から導き出して、わたしを示したのである。 20:10 わたしは、彼らをエジプトの地から連れ出し、荒れ野に導いた。 20:11 そして、彼らにわたしの掟を与え、わたしの裁きを示した。人がそれを行えば、それによって生きることができる。 20:12 また、わたしは、彼らにわたしの安息日を与えた。これは、わたしと彼らとの間のしるしとなり、わたしが彼らを聖別する主であることを、彼らが知るためであった。 20:13 しかし、イスラエルの家は荒れ野でわたしに背き、人がそれを行えば生きることができるわたしの掟に歩まず、わたしの裁きを退け、更に、わたしの安息日を甚だしく汚した。それゆえ、わたしは荒れ野で、憤りを彼らの上に注ぎ、彼らを滅ぼし尽くそうとした。 20:14 しかし、わが名のために、わたしがイスラエルを連れ出したときに見ていた諸国民の前で、わが名を汚すことがないようにした。 20:15 ただし、荒れ野で彼らに誓い、わたしが与えた土地、乳と蜜の流れる地、すべての国々の中で最も美しい土地に、彼らを導き入れることはしないと告げた。 20:16 それは、彼らがわたしの裁きを退け、わたしの掟に従って歩まず、わたしの安息日を汚したからだ。彼らの心は、自分たちの偶像にひかれていたのである。 20:17 それでも、わたしの目は彼らを憐れんで、彼らを滅ぼさなかった。彼らを荒れ野で滅ぼし尽くすことはしなかった。 20:18 わたしは、荒れ野で彼らの子供たちに語った。『お前たちの父祖の掟に従って歩んではならない。彼らの裁きを守ってはならない。また、彼らの偶像で自らを汚してはならない。 20:19 わたしはお前たちの神、主である。お前たちは、わたしの掟に従って歩み、わたしの裁きを守り行い、 20:20 わたしの安息日を聖別して、わたしとお前たちとの間のしるしとし、わたしがお前たちの神、主であることを知れ』と。 20:21 しかし、子供たちもわたしに背き、人がそれを行えば生きることができるわたしの掟に歩まず、わたしの裁きを守り行わず、わたしの安息日を汚した。それゆえ、わたしは荒れ野で彼らの上に憤りを注ぎ、怒りを浴びせる、と言った。 20:22 しかし、わたしは手を引き戻し、わが名のために、わたしがイスラエルを連れ出したときに見ていた諸国民の前でわたしの名を汚すことがないようにした。 20:23 ただし、わたしは荒れ野で彼らに誓い、彼らを諸国民の間に散らし、諸国に追いやると告げた。 20:24 なぜなら、彼らがわたしの裁きを行わず、わたしの掟を退け、わたしの安息日を汚し、彼らの父祖の偶像に目をひかれていたからである。 20:25 わたしもまた、良くない掟と、それによって生きることができない裁きを彼らに与えた。 20:26 また、彼らが初子をすべてささげたとき、わたしは彼らの献げ物によって彼らを汚した。それは、わたしが彼らを荒廃させ、わたしが主であることを知らせるためであった。 20:27 それゆえ、イスラエルの家に語りなさい。人の子よ、彼らに言いなさい。主なる神はこう言われる。お前たちの父祖は、わたしに対して裏切りを行い、またもや、わたしを冒涜した。 20:28 わたしが与えると誓ったその地に彼らを導き入れたとき、彼らは高い丘や茂った木を見ると、どこででも、いけにえをささげ、わたしを怒らせる供え物をささげた。彼らはまた、そこで宥めの香りをたき、ぶどう酒の献げ物を注ぎかけた。 20:29 わたしは彼らに言った。『お前たちが通う聖なる高台は一体何か』と。それゆえ、今日までその場所の名は、聖なる高台と呼ばれている。 20:30 それゆえ、イスラエルの家に言いなさい。主なる神はこう言われる。お前たちは父祖の歩みに従って自らを汚し、彼らの憎むべき偶像と姦淫を行ってきた。 20:31 また、自分の子供を献げ物として火の中を通らせ、すべての偶像によって今日に至るまで自らを汚している。それなのに、イスラエルの家よ、わたしはお前たちの求めに応じられようか。わたしは生きている、と主なる神は言われる。わたしは決してお前たちの求めには応じない。 20:32 お前たちは、『我々は諸国民のように、また、世界各地の種族のように、木や石の偶像に仕えよう』と言っているが、お前たちが心に思うそのようなことは決して実現しない。 20:33 わたしは生きている、と主なる神は言われる。わたしは必ず、強い手と伸ばした腕と、溢れる憤りをもって、お前たちを治める。 20:34 強い手と伸ばした腕と、溢れる憤りをもって、わたしはお前たちを諸国の民の中から連れ出し、散らされた国々から集める。 20:35 わたしはお前たちを、諸国の民の荒れ野に導き、顔と顔を合わせてお前たちを裁く。 20:36 お前たちの父祖をエジプトの国の荒れ野で裁いたように裁く、と主なる神は言われる。 20:37 わたしは、お前たちを牧者の杖の下を通らせて、契約のきずなのもとに導く。 20:38 わたしはお前たちの中から、わたしに逆らい、背く者を分離する。わたしは、彼らを寄留の地から連れ出すが、彼らはイスラエルの土地に入ることはできない。そのとき、お前たちはわたしが主であることを知るようになる。 20:39 お前たちイスラエルの家よ、主なる神はこう言われる。おのおの自分の偶像のもとに行き、それに仕えよ。その後、お前たちは必ずわたしに聞き従い、二度と偶像に贈り物をささげて、わたしの聖なる名を汚すことはなくなる。 20:40 わたしの聖なる山、イスラエルの高い山で、と主なる神は言われる。そこにおいてのみ、この地にいるイスラエルの家はすべて、こぞってわたしに仕える。そこでのみ、わたしは彼らを受け入れ、その所で、献げ物と聖なる最上の供え物を求める。 20:41 わたしは、宥めの香りと共に、お前たちを受け入れる。わたしが諸国の民の中から連れ出し、散らされていた国々から集めるとき、わたしは諸国民の前で、お前たちに自分を聖なる者として示す。 20:42 わたしが、先祖に与えると誓った地、イスラエルの土地に導き入れるとき、お前たちはわたしが主であることを知るようになる。 20:43 その所で、お前たちは自分の歩んだ道、自分を汚したすべての行いを思い起こし、自分の行ったあらゆる悪のゆえに自分を嫌悪するようになる。 20:44 お前たちの悪い道や堕落した行いによることなく、わが名のゆえに、わたしが働きかけるとき、イスラエルの家よ、お前たちはわたしが主であることを知るようになる」と主なる神は言われる。
20:1 It came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, on the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the Lord, and sat before me. 20:2 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 20:3 "Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord God: "Have you come to inquire of Me? As I live," says the Lord God, "I will not be inquired of by you." ' 20:4 "Will you judge them, son of man, will you judge them? Then make known to them the abominations of their fathers. 20:5 "Say to them, 'Thus says the Lord God: "On the day when I chose Israel and raised My hand in an oath to the descendants of the house of Jacob, and made Myself known to them in the land of Egypt, I raised My hand in an oath to them, saying, 'I am the Lord your God.' 20:6 "On that day I raised My hand in an oath to them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, 'flowing with milk and honey,' the glory of all lands. 20:7 "Then I said to them, 'Each of you, throw away the abominations which are before his eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.' 20:8 "But they rebelled against Me and would not obey Me. They did not all cast away the abominations which were before their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said, 'I will pour out My fury on them and fulfill My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.' 20:9 "But I acted for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned before the Gentiles among whom they were, in whose sight I had made Myself known to them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt. 20:10 "Therefore I made them go out of the land of Egypt and brought them into the wilderness. 20:11 "And I gave them My statutes and showed them My judgments, 'which, if a man does, he shall live by them.' 20:12 "Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them. 20:13 "Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes; they despised My judgments, 'which, if a man does, he shall live by them'; and they greatly defiled My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them. 20:14 "But I acted for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned before the Gentiles, in whose sight I had brought them out. 20:15 "So I also raised My hand in an oath to them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, 'flowing with milk and honey,' the glory of all lands, 20:16 "because they despised My judgments and did not walk in My statutes, but profaned My Sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols. 20:17 "Nevertheless My eye spared them from destruction. I did not make an end of them in the wilderness. 20:18 "But I said to their children in the wilderness, 'Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols. 20:19 'I am the Lord your God: Walk in My statutes, keep My judgments, and do them; 20:20 'hallow My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.' 20:21 "Notwithstanding, the children rebelled against Me; they did not walk in My statutes, and were not careful to observe My judgments, 'which, if a man does, he shall live by them'; but they profaned My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them and fulfill My anger against them in the wilderness. 20:22 "Nevertheless I withdrew My hand and acted for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the Gentiles, in whose sight I had brought them out. 20:23 "Also I raised My hand in an oath to those in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the Gentiles and disperse them throughout the countries, 20:24 "because they had not executed My judgments, but had despised My statutes, profaned My Sabbaths, and their eyes were fixed on their fathers' idols. 20:25 "Therefore I also gave them up to statutes that were not good, and judgments by which they could not live; 20:26 "and I pronounced them unclean because of their ritual gifts, in that they caused all their firstborn to pass through the fire, that I might make them desolate and that they might know that I am the Lord." ' 20:27 "Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel, and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord God: "In this too your fathers have blasphemed Me, by being unfaithful to Me. 20:28 "When I brought them into the land concerning which I had raised My hand in an oath to give them, and they saw all the high hills and all the thick trees, there they offered their sacrifices and provoked Me with their offerings. There they also sent up their sweet aroma and poured out their drink offerings. 20:29 "Then I said to them, 'What is this high place to which you go?' So its name is called Bamah to this day." ' 20:30 "Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord God: "Are you defiling yourselves in the manner of your fathers, and committing harlotry according to their abominations? 20:31 "For when you offer your gifts and make your sons pass through the fire, you defile yourselves with all your idols, even to this day. So shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live," says the Lord God, "I will not be inquired of by you. 20:32 "What you have in your mind shall never be, when you say, 'We will be like the Gentiles, like the families in other countries, serving wood and stone.' 20:33 "As I live," says the Lord God, "surely with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will rule over you. 20:34 "I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out. 20:35 "And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will plead My case with you face to face. 20:36 "Just as I pleaded My case with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will plead My case with you," says the Lord God. 20:37 "I will make you pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant; 20:38 "I will purge the rebels from among you, and those who transgress against Me; I will bring them out of the country where they dwell, but they shall not enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord. 20:39 "As for you, O house of Israel," thus says the Lord God: "Go, serve every one of you his idols-and hereafter-if you will not obey me; but profane My holy name no more with your gifts and your idols. 20:40 "For on My holy mountain, on the mountain height of Israel," says the Lord God, "there all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, shall serve Me; there I will accept them, and there I will require your offerings and the firstfruits of your sacrifices, together with all your holy things. 20:41 "I will accept you as a sweet aroma when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you have been scattered; and I will be hallowed in you before the Gentiles. 20:42 "Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for which I raised My hand in an oath to give to your fathers. 20:43 "And there you shall remember your ways and all your doings with which you were defiled; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight because of all the evils that you have committed. 20:44 "Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have dealt with you for My name's sake, not according to your wicked ways nor according to your corrupt doings, O house of Israel," says the Lord God.' " 20:45 Furthermore the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 20:46 "Son of man, set your face toward the south; preach against the south and prophesy against the forest land, the South, 20:47 "and say to the forest of the South, 'Hear the word of the Lord! Thus says the Lord God: "Behold, I will kindle a fire in you, and it shall devour every green tree and every dry tree in you; the blazing flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be scorched by it. 20:48 "All flesh shall see that I, the Lord, have kindled it; it shall not be quenched." ' " 20:49 Then I said, "Ah, Lord God! They say of me, 'Does he not speak parables?' "
9:23 このように、天にあるものの写しは、これらのものによって清められねばならないのですが、天にあるもの自体は、これらよりもまさったいけにえによって、清められねばなりません。 9:24 なぜならキリストは、まことのものの写しにすぎない、人間の手で造られた聖所にではなく、天そのものに入り、今やわたしたちのために神の御前に現れてくださったからです。 9:25 また、キリストがそうなさったのは、大祭司が年ごとに自分のものでない血を携えて聖所に入るように、度々御自身をお献げになるためではありません。 9:26 もしそうだとすれば、天地創造の時から度々苦しまねばならなかったはずです。ところが実際は、世の終わりにただ一度、御自身をいけにえとして献げて罪を取り去るために、現れてくださいました。 9:27 また、人間にはただ一度死ぬことと、その後に裁きを受けることが定まっているように、 9:28 キリストも、多くの人の罪を負うためにただ一度身を献げられた後、二度目には、罪を負うためではなく、御自分を待望している人たちに、救いをもたらすために現れてくださるのです。
9:23 Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 9:24 For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; 9:25 not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another- 9:26 He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 9:28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
