21:1 マナセは十二歳で王となり、五十五年間エルサレムで王位にあった。その母は名をヘフツィ・バと言った。 21:2 彼は主がイスラエルの人々の前から追い払われた諸国の民の忌むべき慣習に倣い、主の目に悪とされることを行った。 21:3 彼は父ヒゼキヤが廃した聖なる高台を再建し、イスラエルの王アハブが行ったようにバアルの祭壇を築き、アシェラ像を造った。更に彼は天の万象の前にひれ伏し、これに仕えた。 21:4 主はかつて、「エルサレムにわたしの名を置く」と言われたが、その主の神殿の中に彼は異教の祭壇を築いた。 21:5 彼はまた、主の神殿の二つの庭に天の万象のための祭壇を築いた。 21:6 彼は自分の子に火の中を通らせ、占いやまじないを行い、口寄せや霊媒を用いるなど、主の目に悪とされることを数々行って主の怒りを招いた。 21:7 彼はまたアシェラの彫像を造り、神殿に置いた。主はその神殿について、かつてダビデとその子ソロモンにこう仰せになった。「わたしはこの神殿に、イスラエルの全部族の中から選んだエルサレムに、とこしえにわたしの名を置く。 21:8 もし彼らがわたしの命じるすべてのこと、すなわちわが僕モーセが彼らに授けたすべての律法を行うよう努めるなら、わたしはイスラエルをその先祖に与えた土地から二度と迷い出させない。」 21:9 しかし彼らはこれに聞き従わず、マナセに惑わされて、主がイスラエルの人々の前で滅ぼされた諸国の民よりも更に悪い事を行った。 21:10 主はその僕である預言者たちを通してこう告げられた。 21:11 「ユダの王マナセはこれらの忌むべき事を行い、かつてアモリ人の行ったすべての事より、更に悪い事を行い、その偶像によってユダにまで罪を犯させた。 21:12 それゆえ、イスラエルの神、主はこう言われる。見よ、わたしはエルサレムとユダに災いをもたらす。これを聞く者は皆、両方の耳が鳴る。 21:13 わたしはサマリアに使った測り縄とアハブの家に使った下げ振りをエルサレムに用いる。鉢をぬぐい、それをぬぐって伏せるように、わたしはエルサレムをぬぐい去る。 21:14 わたしはわが嗣業の残りの者を見捨て、敵の手に渡す。彼らはそのすべての敵の餌食となり、略奪の的となる。 21:15 彼らは先祖がエジプトを出た日から今日に至るまでわたしの意に背くことを行い、わたしを怒らせてきたからである。」 21:16 マナセは主の目に悪とされることをユダに行わせて、罪を犯させた。彼はその罪を犯したばかりでなく、罪のない者の血を非常に多く流し、その血でエルサレムを端から端まで満たした。 21:17 マナセの他の事績、彼の行ったすべての事、彼の犯した罪は、『ユダの王の歴代誌』に記されている。 21:18 マナセは先祖と共に眠りにつき、自分の宮殿の庭園、すなわちウザの庭園に葬られた。その子アモンがマナセに代わって王となった。
21:19 アモンは二十二歳で王となり、二年間エルサレムで王位にあった。その母は名をメシュレメトといい、ヨトバ出身のハルツの娘であった。 21:20 彼は父マナセが行ったように、主の目に悪とされることを行った。 21:21 父の歩んだ道をそのまま歩み、父が仕えた偶像に彼も仕え、その前にひれ伏し、 21:22 先祖の神、主を捨て、主の道を歩まなかった。 21:23 彼の家臣たちは謀反を起こし、この王を宮殿で殺害した。 21:24 しかし国の民は、アモン王に対して謀反を起こしたすべての者を討ち、その子ヨシヤをアモンの代わりに王とした。 21:25 アモンの行った他の事績は、『ユダの王の歴代誌』に記されている。 21:26 彼はウザの庭園にある彼の墓に葬られた。その子ヨシヤがアモンに代わって王となった。
21:1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Hephzibah. 21:2 And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel. 21:3 For he rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; he raised up altars for Baal, and made a wooden image, as Ahab king of Israel had done; and he worshiped all the host of heaven and served them. 21:4 He also built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, "In Jerusalem I will put My name." 21:5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord. 21:6 Also he made his son pass through the fire, practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft, and consulted spiritists and mediums. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger. 21:7 He even set a carved image of Asherah that he had made, in the house of which the Lord had said to David and to Solomon his son, "In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever; 21:8 "and I will not make the feet of Israel wander anymore from the land which I gave their fathers-only if they are careful to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that My servant Moses commanded them." 21:9 But they paid no attention, and Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than the nations whom the Lord had destroyed before the children of Israel. 21:10 And the Lord spoke by His servants the prophets, saying, 21:11 "Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations (he has acted more wickedly than all the Amorites who were before him, and has also made Judah sin with his idols), 21:12 "therefore thus says the Lord God of Israel: 'Behold, I am bringing such calamity upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears will tingle. 21:13 'And I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab; I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down. 21:14 'So I will forsake the remnant of My inheritance and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become victims of plunder to all their enemies, 21:15 'because they have done evil in My sight, and have provoked Me to anger since the day their fathers came out of Egypt, even to this day.' " 21:16 Moreover Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another, besides his sin by which he made Judah sin, in doing evil in the sight of the Lord. 21:17 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh-all that he did, and the sin that he committed-are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 21:18 So Manasseh rested with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza. Then his son Amon reigned in his place. 21:19 Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah. 21:20 And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, as his father Manasseh had done. 21:21 So he walked in all the ways that his father had walked; and he served the idols that his father had served, and worshiped them. 21:22 He forsook the Lord God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the Lord. 21:23 Then the servants of Amon conspired against him, and killed the king in his own house. 21:24 But the people of the land executed all those who had conspired against King Amon. Then the people of the land made his son Josiah king in his place. 21:25 Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 21:26 And he was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza. Then Josiah his son reigned in his place.
19:31 その日は準備の日で、翌日は特別の安息日であったので、ユダヤ人たちは、安息日に遺体を十字架の上に残しておかないために、足を折って取り降ろすように、ピラトに願い出た。 19:32 そこで、兵士たちが来て、イエスと一緒に十字架につけられた最初の男と、もう一人の男との足を折った。 19:33 イエスのところに来てみると、既に死んでおられたので、その足は折らなかった。 19:34 しかし、兵士の一人が槍でイエスのわき腹を刺した。すると、すぐ血と水とが流れ出た。 19:35 それを目撃した者が証ししており、その証しは真実である。その者は、あなたがたにも信じさせるために、自分が真実を語っていることを知っている。 19:36 これらのことが起こったのは、「その骨は一つも砕かれない」という聖書の言葉が実現するためであった。 19:37 また、聖書の別の所に、「彼らは、自分たちの突き刺した者を見る」とも書いてある。
19:38 その後、イエスの弟子でありながら、ユダヤ人たちを恐れて、そのことを隠していたアリマタヤ出身のヨセフが、イエスの遺体を取り降ろしたいと、ピラトに願い出た。ピラトが許したので、ヨセフは行って遺体を取り降ろした。 19:39 そこへ、かつてある夜、イエスのもとに来たことのあるニコデモも、没薬と沈香を混ぜた物を百リトラばかり持って来た。 19:40 彼らはイエスの遺体を受け取り、ユダヤ人の埋葬の習慣に従い、香料を添えて亜麻布で包んだ。 19:41 イエスが十字架につけられた所には園があり、そこには、だれもまだ葬られたことのない新しい墓があった。 19:42 その日はユダヤ人の準備の日であり、この墓が近かったので、そこにイエスを納めた。
19:31 Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. 19:32 Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him. 19:33 But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. 19:34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. 19:35 And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe. 19:36 For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, "Not one of His bones shall be broken." 19:37 And again another Scripture says, "They shall look on Him whom they pierced." 19:38 After this, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took the body of Jesus. 19:39 And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. 19:40 Then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in strips of linen with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury. 19:41 Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. 19:42 So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews' Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby.
