11:1 レハブアムはエルサレムに帰ると、ユダとベニヤミンの家からえり抜きの戦士十八万を召集し、イスラエルに戦いを挑み、王国を奪還して自分のものにしようとした。 11:2 しかし、主の言葉が神の人シェマヤに臨んだ。 11:3 「ユダの王、ソロモンの子レハブアム、およびユダとベニヤミンにいるすべてのイスラエル人に言え。 11:4 『主はこう言われる。上って行くな。あなたたちの兄弟に戦いを挑むな。それぞれ自分の家に帰れ。こうなるように計らったのはわたしだ。』」彼らは主の言葉を聞き、ヤロブアムに向かって行くことなく帰って行った。 11:5 レハブアムはエルサレムにとどまり、ユダに砦の町々を建てた。 11:6 すなわち、ベツレヘム、エタム、テコア、 11:7 ベト・ツル、ソコ、アドラム、 11:8 ガト、マレシャ、ジフ、 11:9 アドライム、ラキシュ、アゼカ、 11:10 ツォルア、アヤロン、ヘブロンである。これらはユダとベニヤミンにあるもので、砦の町であった。 11:11 彼はこれらの砦を強くして、そこに長官を置き、食糧と油、ぶどう酒を蓄えた。 11:12 どの町も盾と槍を備え、非常に堅固なものとした。ユダとベニヤミンは彼のものとなった。 11:13 イスラエル中の祭司とレビ人は、そのすべての領土からレハブアムのもとに集まって来た。 11:14 レビ人が自分の牧草地と所有物を捨ててユダとエルサレムに来たのは、ヤロブアムとその子らが彼らを遠ざけ、主の祭司であることをやめさせたからである。 11:15 ヤロブアムは、聖なる高台、山羊の魔神、自ら造った子牛に仕える祭司を自分のために立てた。 11:16 またレビ人に続いて、イスラエルのすべての部族の中から、イスラエルの神、主を求めようと心を定めた者たちが、エルサレムに出て来て、先祖の神、主にいけにえをささげた。 11:17 彼らは三年間ユダの国を強くし、ソロモンの子レハブアムを支援した。彼らが三年の間ダビデとソロモンの道を歩んだからである。 11:18 レハブアムは、ダビデの子エリモトの娘マハラトを妻として迎えた。彼女の母はエッサイの子エリアブの娘アビハイルである。 11:19 彼女は男の子エウシュ、シェマルヤ、ザハムを産んだ。 11:20 その後、レハブアムはアブサロムの娘マアカを妻として迎え、彼女はアビヤ、アタイ、ジザ、シェロミトを産んだ。 11:21 レハブアムは十八人の妻と、六十人の側女を持っていたが、その妻と側女の中でアブサロムの娘マアカをことのほか愛した。二十八人の息子と六十人の娘をもうけたが、 11:22 レハブアムはマアカの子アビヤを頭として立て、兄弟たちの指導者として、王位を継がせようとした。 11:23 また彼は賢明に行動し、その息子たちの何人かをユダとベニヤミンの全土に、すなわちそのすべての砦の町々に配置して、豊富な食糧を彼らに与え、また大勢の嫁を彼らのために探し求めた。
12:1 レハブアムは国が固まり、自らも力をつけると、すべてのイスラエル人と共に主の律法を捨てた。 12:2 レハブアム王の治世第五年に、エジプトの王シシャクがエルサレムに攻め上って来た。彼らが主に背いたからである。 12:3 彼は戦車千二百両、騎兵六万を擁し、彼がエジプトから率いてきたリビア人、スキイム人、クシュ人の民は数えきれないほどであった。 12:4 彼はユダの砦の町を次々に陥れ、エルサレムにまで迫った。 12:5 預言者シェマヤが、シシャクのことでエルサレムに集まっているレハブアムとユダの将軍たちのところに来て言った。「主はこう言われる。『あなたたちはわたしを捨てた。わたしもあなたたちを捨て、シシャクの手に渡す。』」 12:6 イスラエルの将軍たちは王と共にへりくだって言った。「主は正しい。」 12:7 主は彼らがへりくだるのを御覧になった。主の言葉がシェマヤに臨んだ。「彼らがへりくだったので、わたしは彼らを滅ぼさず、間もなく彼らに救いを与える。わたしの怒りをシシャクの手によってエルサレムに注ぐことはしない。 12:8 ただし、彼らはシシャクに仕える者となり、わたしに仕えることと、地の王国に仕えることとの違いを知るようになる。」 12:9 エジプトの王シシャクはエルサレムに攻め上り、主の神殿と王宮の宝物を奪い取った。彼はすべてを奪い、ソロモンが作った金の盾も奪い取った。 12:10 レハブアム王は、その代わりに青銅の盾を作り、王宮の入り口を守る近衛兵の長たちの手に託した。 12:11 王が主の神殿に来る度ごとに、近衛兵たちは来てその盾を持ち、また近衛兵の詰め所に戻した。 12:12 王がへりくだったので、主の怒りは彼から離れ、彼が徹底的に滅ぼされることはなかった。ユダにも良い事があった。 12:13 レハブアム王はエルサレムで勢力を増し、国を支配した。レハブアムは四十一歳で王となり、十七年間エルサレムで王位にあった。エルサレムは、主が御名を置くためにイスラエルのすべての部族の中から選ばれた都であった。レハブアムの母の名はナアマと言い、アンモン人であった。 12:14 彼は心を定めて主を求めることをせず、悪を行った。 12:15 レハブアムの事績は、初期のことも後期のことも、『預言者シェマヤと先見者イドの言葉』に系図に従って記されている。レハブアムとヤロブアムの間には戦いが絶えなかった。 12:16 レハブアムは先祖と共に眠りにつき、ダビデの町に葬られた。その子アビヤがレハブアムに代わって王となった。
11:1 Now when Rehoboam came to Jerusalem, he assembled from the house of Judah and Benjamin one hundred and eighty thousand chosen men who were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he might restore the kingdom to Rehoboam. 11:2 But the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying, 11:3 "Speak to Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying, 11:4 'Thus says the Lord: "You shall not go up or fight against your brethren! Let every man return to his house, for this thing is from Me." ' " Therefore they obeyed the words of the Lord, and turned back from attacking Jeroboam. 11:5 So Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defense in Judah. 11:6 And he built Bethlehem, Etam, Tekoa, 11:7 Beth Zur, Sochoh, Adullam, 11:8 Gath, Mareshah, Ziph, 11:9 Adoraim, Lachish, Azekah, 11:10 Zorah, Aijalon, and Hebron, which are in Judah and Benjamin, fortified cities. 11:11 And he fortified the strongholds, and put captains in them, and stores of food, oil, and wine. 11:12 Also in every city he put shields and spears, and made them very strong, having Judah and Benjamin on his side. 11:13 And from all their territories the priests and the Levites who were in all Israel took their stand with him. 11:14 For the Levites left their common-lands and their possessions and came to Judah and Jerusalem, for Jeroboam and his sons had rejected them from serving as priests to the Lord. 11:15 Then he appointed for himself priests for the high places, for the demons, and the calf idols which he had made. 11:16 And after the Levites left, those from all the tribes of Israel, such as set their heart to seek the Lord God of Israel, came to Jerusalem to sacrifice to the Lord God of their fathers. 11:17 So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong for three years, because they walked in the way of David and Solomon for three years. 11:18 Then Rehoboam took for himself as wife Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David, and of Abihail the daughter of Eliah the son of Jesse. 11:19 And she bore him children: Jeush, Shamariah, and Zaham. 11:20 After her he took Maacah the granddaughter of Absalom; and she bore him Abijah, Attai, Ziza, and Shelomith. 11:21 Now Rehoboam loved Maachah the granddaughter of Absalom more than all his wives and his concubines; for he took eighteen wives and sixty concubines, and begot twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters. 11:22 And Rehoboam appointed Abijah the son of Maachah as chief, to be leader among his brothers; for he intended to make him king. 11:23 He dealt wisely, and dispersed some of his sons throughout all the territories of Judah and Benjamin, to every fortified city; and he gave them provisions in abundance. He also sought many wives for them.
12:1 Now it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom and had strengthened himself, that he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel along with him. 12:2 And it happened in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the Lord, 12:3 with twelve hundred chariots, sixty thousand horsemen, and people without number who came with him out of Egypt-the Lubim and the Sukkiim and the Ethiopians. 12:4 And he took the fortified cities of Judah and came to Jerusalem. 12:5 Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah, who were gathered together in Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, "Thus says the Lord: 'You have forsaken Me, and therefore I also have left you in the hand of Shishak.' " 12:6 So the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, "The Lord is righteous." 12:7 Now when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, "They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance. My wrath shall not be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak. 12:8 "Nevertheless they will be his servants, that they may distinguish My service from the service of the kingdoms of the nations." 12:9 So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king's house; he took everything. He also carried away the gold shields which Solomon had made. 12:10 Then King Rehoboam made bronze shields in their place, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who guarded the doorway of the king's house. 12:11 And whenever the king entered the house of the Lord, the guard would go and bring them out; then they would take them back into the guardroom. 12:12 When he humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, so as not to destroy him completely; and things also went well in Judah. 12:13 Thus Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem and reigned. Now Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he became king; and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put His name there. His mother's name was Naamah, an Ammonitess. 12:14 And he did evil, because he did not prepare his heart to seek the Lord. 12:15 The acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all their days. 12:16 So Rehoboam rested with his fathers, and was buried in the City of David. Then Abijah his son reigned in his place.
129:1 【都に上る歌。】イスラエルは言うがよい。「わたしが若いときから／彼らはわたしを苦しめ続けたが 129:2 わたしが若いときから／彼らはわたしを苦しめ続けたが／彼らはわたしを圧倒できなかった。 129:3 耕す者はわたしの背を耕し／畝を長く作った。」 129:4 主は正しい。主に逆らう者の束縛を断ち切ってくださる。 129:5 シオンを憎む者よ、皆恥を受けて退け。 129:6 抜かれる前に枯れる屋根の草のようになれ。 129:7 刈り入れても手を満たすことはないように。穂を束ねてもふところを満たすことはないように。 129:8 傍らを通る者が／「主はあなたがたを祝福される。わたしたちも主の御名によって／あなたがたを祝福する」と言わないように。
129:1 "Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth,"Let Israel now say- 129:2 "Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth;Yet they have not prevailed against me. 129:3 The plowers plowed on my back;They made their furrows long." 129:4 The Lord is righteous;He has cut in pieces the cords of the wicked. 129:5 Let all those who hate ZionBe put to shame and turned back. 129:6 Let them be as the grass on the housetops,Which withers before it grows up, 129:7 With which the reaper does not fill his hand,Nor he who binds sheaves, his arms. 129:8 Neither let those who pass by them say,"The blessing of the Lord be upon you;We bless you in the name of the Lord!"
