26:1 ユダのすべての民は、当時十六歳であったウジヤを選び、父アマツヤの代わりに王とした。 26:2 アマツヤが先祖と共に眠りについた後、彼はエイラトの町を再建して、ユダに復帰させた。 26:3 ウジヤは十六歳で王となり、五十二年間エルサレムで王位にあった。その母は名をエコルヤといい、エルサレムの出身であった。 26:4 彼は、父アマツヤが行ったように、主の目にかなう正しいことをことごとく行った。 26:5 神を畏れ敬うことを諭したゼカルヤが生きている間は、彼も主を求めるように努めた。彼が主を求めている間、神は彼を繁栄させられた。 26:6 彼は出て行ってペリシテ人と戦い、ガトの城壁、ヤブネの城壁、アシュドドの城壁を破壊し、アシュドドをはじめペリシテ人の地方に幾つかの町を建てた。 26:7 神は彼を助け、ペリシテ人のみならずグル・バアルに住むアラブ人やメウニム人にも立ち向かわせられた。 26:8 アンモン人もウジヤに貢ぎ物を献上した。ウジヤの勢いはこの上もなく増大し、その名声はエジプトに近い地方にまで届いた。 26:9 ウジヤはエルサレムの角の門、谷の門、城壁の角に塔を築き、補強した。 26:10 彼はまた荒れ野にも多くの塔を築き、井戸を掘った。シェフェラや平地には多数の家畜が飼われ、山地や肥沃な地には農夫やぶどう作りがいた。ウジヤが農耕を愛したからである。 26:11 ウジヤは戦いに備えて訓練された軍隊を持っていた。それは書記官エイエル、官吏マアセヤによる名簿に従って部隊に配属され、王の高官ハナンヤの指揮下に置かれていた。 26:12 勇士である家長の総数は二千六百人、 26:13 その配下に、戦いに強い三十万七千五百人の軍隊があり、王の助けとなって敵に立ち向かった。 26:14 ウジヤは全軍のために盾、槍、兜、鎧、弓、投石用の石を準備した。 26:15 彼はまたエルサレムで技術者により考案された装置を造り、塔や城壁の角の上に置いて、矢や大きな石を放てるようにした。ウジヤは、神の驚くべき助けを得て勢力ある者となり、その名声は遠くにまで及んだ。 26:16 ところが、彼は勢力を増すとともに思い上がって堕落し、自分の神、主に背いた。彼は主の神殿に入り、香の祭壇の上で香をたこうとした。 26:17 祭司アザルヤは主の勇敢な祭司八十人と共に後から入り、 26:18 ウジヤ王の前に立ちはだかって言った。「ウジヤよ、あなたは主に香をたくことができない。香をたくのは聖別されたアロンの子孫、祭司である。この聖所から出て行きなさい。あなたは主に背いたのだ。主なる神からそのような栄誉を受ける資格はあなたにはない。」 26:19 香をたこうとして香炉を手にしていたウジヤは怒り始めたが、祭司たちに怒りをぶつけている間に重い皮膚病がその額に現れた。それは主の神殿の中にいた祭司たちの目の前、香の祭壇の前の出来事だった。 26:20 祭司長アザルヤと祭司たちは皆彼の方を向いて、その額に重い皮膚病ができているのを認め、直ちに去らせた。彼自身も急いで出て行った。主が彼を打たれたからである。 26:21 ウジヤ王は死ぬ日までその重い皮膚病に悩まされ、重い皮膚病のために隔離された家に住んだ。主の神殿に近づくことを禁じられたからである。その子ヨタムが王宮を取りしきり、国の民を治めた。 26:22 ウジヤの他の事績は、初期のことも後期のことも、預言者、アモツの子イザヤが書き残している。 26:23 ウジヤは先祖と共に眠りにつき、その遺体は、重い皮膚病に冒されていたということで、王の墓の近くの野に先祖と共に葬られた。その子ヨタムがウジヤに代わって王となった。
27:1 ヨタムは二十五歳で王となり、十六年間エルサレムで王位にあった。その母は名をエルシャといい、ツァドクの娘であった。 27:2 彼は、父ウジヤが行ったように、主の目にかなう正しいことをことごとく行った。ただ主の神殿に入ることだけはしなかった。民は依然として堕落していた。 27:3 彼は主の神殿の上の門を建て、オフェルの城壁に多くの工事を施し、 27:4 ユダの山地に町を築き、森の中に城砦や塔を築いた。 27:5 彼はアンモン人の王と戦ってこれを征服した。その年アンモン人は銀百キカル、小麦一万コル、大麦一万コルを献上してきた。アンモン人は二年目も、三年目もそうした。 27:6 ヨタムは主なる神の御前をたゆまず歩き続けたので、勢力を増すことができた。 27:7 ヨタムの他の事績は、そのすべての戦いも、行動も、『イスラエルとユダの列王の書』に記されている。 27:8 彼は二十五歳で王となり、十六年間エルサレムで王位にあった。 27:9 ヨタムは先祖と共に眠りにつき、ダビデの町に葬られた。その子アハズがヨタムに代わって王となった。
26:1 Now all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amaziah. 26:2 He built Elath and restored it to Judah, after the king rested with his fathers. 26:3 Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem. 26:4 And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done. 26:5 He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper. 26:6 Now he went out and made war against the Philistines, and broke down the wall of Gath, the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities around Ashdod and among the Philistines. 26:7 God helped him against the Philistines, against the Arabians who lived in Gur Baal, and against the Meunites. 26:8 Also the Ammonites brought tribute to Uzziah. His fame spread as far as the entrance of Egypt, for he became exceedingly strong. 26:9 And Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the Corner Gate, at the Valley Gate, and at the corner buttress of the wall; then he fortified them. 26:10 Also he built towers in the desert. He dug many wells, for he had much livestock, both in the lowlands and in the plains; he also had farmers and vinedressers in the mountains and in Carmel, for he loved the soil. 26:11 Moreover Uzziah had an army of fighting men who went out to war by companies, according to the number on their roll as prepared by Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the officer, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king's captains. 26:12 The total number of chief officers of the mighty men of valor was two thousand six hundred. 26:13 And under their authority was an army of three hundred and seven thousand five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy. 26:14 Then Uzziah prepared for them, for the entire army, shields, spears, helmets, body armor, bows, and slings to cast stones. 26:15 And he made devices in Jerusalem, invented by skillful men, to be on the towers and the corners, to shoot arrows and large stones. So his fame spread far and wide, for he was marvelously helped till he became strong. 26:16 But when he was strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgressed against the Lord his God by entering the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense. 26:17 So Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him were eighty priests of the Lord-valiant men. 26:18 And they withstood King Uzziah, and said to him, "It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the Lord, but for the priests, the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Get out of the sanctuary, for you have trespassed! You shall have no honor from the Lord God." 26:19 Then Uzziah became furious; and he had a censer in his hand to burn incense. And while he was angry with the priests, leprosy broke out on his forehead, before the priests in the house of the Lord, beside the incense altar. 26:20 And Azariah the chief priest and all the priests looked at him, and there, on his forehead, he was leprous; so they thrust him out of that place. Indeed he also hurried to get out, because the Lord had struck him. 26:21 King Uzziah was a leper until the day of his death. He dwelt in an isolated house, because he was a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the Lord. Then Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land. 26:22 Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, from first to last, the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz wrote. 26:23 So Uzziah rested with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of burial which belonged to the kings, for they said, "He is a leper." Then Jotham his son reigned in his place.
27:1 Jotham was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jerushah the daughter of Zadok. 27:2 And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Uzziah had done (although he did not enter the temple of the Lord). But still the people acted corruptly. 27:3 He built the Upper Gate of the house of the Lord, and he built extensively on the wall of Ophel. 27:4 Moreover he built cities in the mountains of Judah, and in the forests he built fortresses and towers. 27:5 He also fought with the king of the Ammonites and defeated them. And the people of Ammon gave him in that year one hundred talents of silver, ten thousand kors of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. The people of Ammon paid this to him in the second and third years also. 27:6 So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God. 27:7 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars and his ways, indeed they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. 27:8 He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. 27:9 So Jotham rested with his fathers, and they buried him in the City of David. Then Ahaz his son reigned in his place.
141:1 【賛歌。ダビデの詩。】主よ、わたしはあなたを呼びます。速やかにわたしに向かい／あなたを呼ぶ声に耳を傾けてください。 141:2 わたしの祈りを御前に立ち昇る香りとし／高く上げた手を／夕べの供え物としてお受けください。 141:3 主よ、わたしの口に見張りを置き／唇の戸を守ってください。 141:4 わたしの心が悪に傾くのを許さないでください。悪を行う者らと共にあなたに逆らって／悪事を重ねることのありませんように。彼らの与える好餌にいざなわれませんように。 141:5 主に従う人がわたしを打ち／慈しみをもって戒めてくれますように。わたしは油で頭を整えることもしません／彼らの悪のゆえに祈りをささげている間は。 141:6 彼らの支配者がことごとく／岩の傍らに投げ落とされますように。彼らはわたしの言葉を聞いて喜んだのです。 141:7 「あたかも地を裂き、地を割ったかのように／わたしたちの骨は陰府の口に散らされている。」 141:8 主よ、わたしの神よ、わたしの目をあなたに向け／あなたを避けどころとします。わたしの魂をうつろにしないでください。 141:9 どうか、わたしをお守りください。わたしに対して仕掛けられた罠に／悪を行う者が掘った落とし穴に陥りませんように。 141:10 主に逆らう者が皆、主の網にかかり／わたしは免れることができますように。
141:1 Lord, I cry out to You;Make haste to me!Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You. 141:2 Let my prayer be set before You as incense,The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. 141:3 Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth;Keep watch over the door of my lips. 141:4 Do not incline my heart to any evil thing,To practice wicked worksWith men who work iniquity;And do not let me eat of their delicacies. 141:5 Let the righteous strike me;It shall be a kindness.And let him rebuke me;It shall be as excellent oil;Let my head not refuse it.For still my prayer is against the deeds of the wicked. 141:6 Their judges are overthrown by the sides of the cliff,And they hear my words, for they are sweet. 141:7 Our bones are scattered at the mouth of the grave,As when one plows and breaks up the earth. 141:8 But my eyes are upon You, O God the Lord;In You I take refuge;Do not leave my soul destitute. 141:9 Keep me from the snares they have laid for me,And from the traps of the workers of iniquity. 141:10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets,While I escape safely.
