5:1 Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, "Thus says the Lord God of Israel: 'Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.' " 5:2 And Pharaoh said, "Who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, nor will I let Israel go." 5:3 So they said, "The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please, let us go three days' journey into the desert and sacrifice to the Lord our God, lest He fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword." 5:4 Then the king of Egypt said to them, "Moses and Aaron, why do you take the people from their work? Get back to your labor." 5:5 And Pharaoh said, "Look, the people of the land are many now, and you make them rest from their labor!" 5:6 So the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people and their officers, saying, 5:7 "You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves. 5:8 "And you shall lay on them the quota of bricks which they made before. You shall not reduce it. For they are idle; therefore they cry out, saying, 'Let us go and sacrifice to our God.' 5:9 "Let more work be laid on the men, that they may labor in it, and let them not regard false words." 5:10 And the taskmasters of the people and their officers went out and spoke to the people, saying, "Thus says Pharaoh: 'I will not give you straw. 5:11 'Go, get yourselves straw where you can find it; yet none of your work will be reduced.' " 5:12 So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land of Egypt to gather stubble instead of straw. 5:13 And the taskmasters forced them to hurry, saying, "Fulfill your work, your daily quota, as when there was straw." 5:14 Also the officers of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten and were asked, "Why have you not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and today, as before?" 5:15 Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried out to Pharaoh, saying, "Why are you dealing thus with your servants? 5:16 "There is no straw given to your servants, and they say to us, 'Make brick!' And indeed your servants are beaten, but the fault is in your own people." 5:17 But he said, "You are idle! Idle! Therefore you say, 'Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.' 5:18 "Therefore go now and work; for no straw shall be given you, yet you shall deliver the quota of bricks." 5:19 And the officers of the children of Israel saw that they were in trouble after it was said, "You shall not reduce any bricks from your daily quota." 5:20 Then, as they came out from Pharaoh, they met Moses and Aaron who stood there to meet them. 5:21 And they said to them, "Let the Lord look on you and judge, because you have made us abhorrent in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us." 5:22 So Moses returned to the Lord and said, "Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me? 5:23 "For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all."
6:16 「断食するときには、あなたがたは偽善者のように沈んだ顔つきをしてはならない。偽善者は、断食しているのを人に見てもらおうと、顔を見苦しくする。はっきり言っておく。彼らは既に報いを受けている。 6:17 あなたは、断食するとき、頭に油をつけ、顔を洗いなさい。 6:18 それは、あなたの断食が人に気づかれず、隠れたところにおられるあなたの父に見ていただくためである。そうすれば、隠れたことを見ておられるあなたの父が報いてくださる。」
6:19 「あなたがたは地上に富を積んではならない。そこでは、虫が食ったり、さび付いたりするし、また、盗人が忍び込んで盗み出したりする。 6:20 富は、天に積みなさい。そこでは、虫が食うことも、さび付くこともなく、また、盗人が忍び込むことも盗み出すこともない。 6:21 あなたの富のあるところに、あなたの心もあるのだ。」
6:22 「体のともし火は目である。目が澄んでいれば、あなたの全身が明るいが、 6:23 濁っていれば、全身が暗い。だから、あなたの中にある光が消えれば、その暗さはどれほどであろう。」
6:24 「だれも、二人の主人に仕えることはできない。一方を憎んで他方を愛するか、一方に親しんで他方を軽んじるか、どちらかである。あなたがたは、神と富とに仕えることはできない。」
6:25 「だから、言っておく。自分の命のことで何を食べようか何を飲もうかと、また自分の体のことで何を着ようかと思い悩むな。命は食べ物よりも大切であり、体は衣服よりも大切ではないか。 6:26 空の鳥をよく見なさい。種も蒔かず、刈り入れもせず、倉に納めもしない。だが、あなたがたの天の父は鳥を養ってくださる。あなたがたは、鳥よりも価値あるものではないか。 6:27 あなたがたのうちだれが、思い悩んだからといって、寿命をわずかでも延ばすことができようか。 6:28 なぜ、衣服のことで思い悩むのか。野の花がどのように育つのか、注意して見なさい。働きもせず、紡ぎもしない。 6:29 しかし、言っておく。栄華を極めたソロモンでさえ、この花の一つほどにも着飾ってはいなかった。 6:30 今日は生えていて、明日は炉に投げ込まれる野の草でさえ、神はこのように装ってくださる。まして、あなたがたにはなおさらのことではないか、信仰の薄い者たちよ。 6:31 だから、『何を食べようか』『何を飲もうか』『何を着ようか』と言って、思い悩むな。 6:32 それはみな、異邦人が切に求めているものだ。あなたがたの天の父は、これらのものがみなあなたがたに必要なことをご存じである。 6:33 何よりもまず、神の国と神の義を求めなさい。そうすれば、これらのものはみな加えて与えられる。 6:34 だから、明日のことまで思い悩むな。明日のことは明日自らが思い悩む。その日の苦労は、その日だけで十分である。」
6:16 "Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6:17 "But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 6:18 "so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 6:19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 6:20 "but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 6:22 "The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 6:23 "But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 6:24 "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. 6:25 "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 6:26 "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 6:27 "Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 6:28 "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 6:29 "and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 6:30 "Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 6:31 "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 6:32 "For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 6:34 "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
