23:1 Now it came to pass, a long time after the Lord had given rest to Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua was old, advanced in age. 23:2 And Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders, for their heads, for their judges, and for their officers, and said to them: "I am old, advanced in age. 23:3 "You have seen all that the Lord your God has done to all these nations because of you, for the Lord your God is He who has fought for you. 23:4 "See, I have divided to you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from the Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, as far as the Great Sea westward. 23:5 "And the Lord your God will expel them from before you and drive them out of your sight. So you shall possess their land, as the Lord your God promised you. 23:6 "Therefore be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, lest you turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left, 23:7 "and lest you go among these nations, these who remain among you. You shall not make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause anyone to swear by them; you shall not serve them nor bow down to them, 23:8 "but you shall hold fast to the Lord your God, as you have done to this day. 23:9 "For the Lord has driven out from before you great and strong nations; but as for you, no one has been able to stand against you to this day. 23:10 "One man of you shall chase a thousand, for the Lord your God is He who fights for you, as He promised you. 23:11 "Therefore take careful heed to yourselves, that you love the Lord your God. 23:12 "Or else, if indeed you do go back, and cling to the remnant of these nations-these that remain among you-and make marriages with them, and go in to them and they to you, 23:13 "know for certain that the Lord your God will no longer drive out these nations from before you. But they shall be snares and traps to you, and scourges on your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land which the Lord your God has given you. 23:14 "Behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth. And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed. 23:15 "Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all the good things have come upon you which the Lord your God promised you, so the Lord will bring upon you all harmful things, until He has destroyed you from this good land which the Lord your God has given you. 23:16 "When you have transgressed the covenant of the Lord your God, which He commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed down to them, then the anger of the Lord will burn against you, and you shall perish quickly from the good land which He has given you."

4:38 イエスは会堂を立ち去り、シモンの家にお入りになった。シモンのしゅうとめが高い熱に苦しんでいたので、人々は彼女のことをイエスに頼んだ。 4:39 イエスが枕もとに立って熱を叱りつけられると、熱は去り、彼女はすぐに起き上がって一同をもてなした。 4:40 日が暮れると、いろいろな病気で苦しむ者を抱えている人が皆、病人たちをイエスのもとに連れて来た。イエスはその一人一人に手を置いていやされた。 4:41 悪霊もわめき立て、「お前は神の子だ」と言いながら、多くの人々から出て行った。イエスは悪霊を戒めて、ものを言うことをお許しにならなかった。悪霊は、イエスをメシアだと知っていたからである。
4:42 朝になると、イエスは人里離れた所へ出て行かれた。群衆はイエスを捜し回ってそのそばまで来ると、自分たちから離れて行かないようにと、しきりに引き止めた。 4:43 しかし、イエスは言われた。「ほかの町にも神の国の福音を告げ知らせなければならない。わたしはそのために遣わされたのだ。」 4:44 そして、ユダヤの諸会堂に行って宣教された。
4:31 Then He went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths. 4:32 And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority. 4:33 Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, 4:34 saying, "Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are-the Holy One of God!" 4:35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him!" And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him. 4:36 Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, "What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out." 4:37 And the report about Him went out into every place in the surrounding region. 4:38 Now He arose from the synagogue and entered Simon's house. But Simon's wife's mother was sick with a high fever, and they made request of Him concerning her. 4:39 So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them. 4:40 When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them. 4:41 And demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, "You are the Christ, the Son of God!" And He, rebuking them, did not allow them to speak, for they knew that He was the Christ. 4:42 Now when it was day, He departed and went into a deserted place. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from leaving them; 4:43 but He said to them, "I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent." 4:44 And He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
