14:1 Now Samson went down to Timnah, and saw a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines. 14:2 So he went up and told his father and mother, saying, "I have seen a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines; now therefore, get her for me as a wife." 14:3 Then his father and mother said to him, "Is there no woman among the daughters of your brethren, or among all my people, that you must go and get a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?" And Samson said to his father, "Get her for me, for she pleases me well." 14:4 But his father and mother did not know that it was of the Lord-that He was seeking an occasion to move against the Philistines. For at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel. 14:5 So Samson went down to Timnah with his father and mother, and came to the vineyards of Timnah. Now to his surprise, a young lion came roaring against him. 14:6 And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he tore the lion apart as one would have torn apart a young goat, though he had nothing in his hand. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done. 14:7 Then he went down and talked with the woman; and she pleased Samson well. 14:8 After some time, when he returned to get her, he turned aside to see the carcass of the lion. And behold, a swarm of bees and honey were in the carcass of the lion. 14:9 He took some of it in his hands and went along, eating. When he came to his father and mother, he gave some to them, and they also ate. But he did not tell them that he had taken the honey out of the carcass of the lion. 14:10 So his father went down to the woman. And Samson gave a feast there, for young men used to do so. 14:11 And it happened, when they saw him, that they brought thirty companions to be with him. 14:12 Then Samson said to them, "Let me pose a riddle to you. If you can correctly solve and explain it to me within the seven days of the feast, then I will give you thirty linen garments and thirty changes of clothing. 14:13 "But if you cannot explain it to me, then you shall give me thirty linen garments and thirty changes of clothing." And they said to him, "Pose your riddle, that we may hear it." 14:14 So he said to them:"Out of the eater came something to eat,And out of the strong came something sweet." Now for three days they could not explain the riddle. 14:15 But it came to pass on the seventh day that they said to Samson's wife, "Entice your husband, that he may explain the riddle to us, or else we will burn you and your father's house with fire. Have you invited us in order to take what is ours? Is that not so?" 14:16 Then Samson's wife wept on him, and said, "You only hate me! You do not love me! You have posed a riddle to the sons of my people, but you have not explained it to me." And he said to her, "Look, I have not explained it to my father or my mother; so should I explain it to you?" 14:17 Now she had wept on him the seven days while their feast lasted. And it happened on the seventh day that he told her, because she pressed him so much. Then she explained the riddle to the sons of her people. 14:18 So the men of the city said to him on the seventh day before the sun went down:"What is sweeter than honey?And what is stronger than a lion?" And he said to them:"If you had not plowed with my heifer,You would not have solved my riddle!" 14:19 Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon him mightily, and he went down to Ashkelon and killed thirty of their men, took their apparel, and gave the changes of clothing to those who had explained the riddle. So his anger was aroused, and he went back up to his father's house. 14:20 And Samson's wife was given to his companion, who had been his best man.
11:14 イエスは悪霊を追い出しておられたが、それは口を利けなくする悪霊であった。悪霊が出て行くと、口の利けない人がものを言い始めたので、群衆は驚嘆した。 11:15 しかし、中には、「あの男は悪霊の頭ベルゼブルの力で悪霊を追い出している」と言う者や、 11:16 イエスを試そうとして、天からのしるしを求める者がいた。 11:17 しかし、イエスは彼らの心を見抜いて言われた。「内輪で争えば、どんな国でも荒れ果て、家は重なり合って倒れてしまう。 11:18 あなたたちは、わたしがベルゼブルの力で悪霊を追い出していると言うけれども、サタンが内輪もめすれば、どうしてその国は成り立って行くだろうか。 11:19 わたしがベルゼブルの力で悪霊を追い出すのなら、あなたたちの仲間は何の力で追い出すのか。だから、彼ら自身があなたたちを裁く者となる。 11:20 しかし、わたしが神の指で悪霊を追い出しているのであれば、神の国はあなたたちのところに来ているのだ。 11:21 強い人が武装して自分の屋敷を守っているときには、その持ち物は安全である。 11:22 しかし、もっと強い者が襲って来てこの人に勝つと、頼みの武具をすべて奪い取り、分捕り品を分配する。 11:23 わたしに味方しない者はわたしに敵対し、わたしと一緒に集めない者は散らしている。」
11:24 「汚れた霊は、人から出て行くと、砂漠をうろつき、休む場所を探すが、見つからない。それで、『出て来たわが家に戻ろう』と言う。 11:25 そして、戻ってみると、家は掃除をして、整えられていた。 11:26 そこで、出かけて行き、自分よりも悪いほかの七つの霊を連れて来て、中に入り込んで、住み着く。そうなると、その人の後の状態は前よりも悪くなる。」
11:27 イエスがこれらのことを話しておられると、ある女が群衆の中から声高らかに言った。「なんと幸いなことでしょう、あなたを宿した胎、あなたが吸った乳房は。」 11:28 しかし、イエスは言われた。「むしろ、幸いなのは神の言葉を聞き、それを守る人である。」
11:14 And He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. So it was, when the demon had gone out, that the mute spoke; and the multitudes marveled. 11:15 But some of them said, "He casts out demons by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons." 11:16 Others, testing Him, sought from Him a sign from heaven. 11:17 But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls. 11:18 "If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? Because you say I cast out demons by Beelzebub. 11:19 "And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. 11:20 "But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. 11:21 "When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. 11:22 "But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils. 11:23 "He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters. 11:24 "When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' 11:25 "And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order. 11:26 "Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first." 11:27 And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!" 11:28 But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"
